Rachel was a fighter and would work hard to silence the whispers in her sleepy small town. Being an unwed mother was something she never expected but becoming a family with Harris felt like she had unwillingly trapped him. Secret treasure hunts and trying to stay one step ahead of someone willing to rip it all away will put her in danger. Harris knows that only thing he was missing was a family and keeping it together will be a battle he is all too willing to fight. .

Harris is a Marine Raider having to make a choice - attend his father's funeral or his best friend's funeral. He's always had fantasies about Rachel, a former bartender.

Rachel is a former bartender from the wrong side of the tracks. She inherited some property, and is operating a successful bed and breakfast.

While Harris is home on leave, they meet by chance, and decide to make their fantasies real, with unintended consequences.

This is a fun, easy read for any romance reader; however, due to graphic scenes, it's for adults only.

In the interest of full disclosure, I received a free digital copy of this title to review from Net Galley.

All her life, Rachel Winchester has fought against the idea that she was nothing but white trash destined for Loserville. Now, it seems all that fighting was for nothing. Sure, she's running a successful B&B and, yes, she finally had her way with a man she's crushed on for forever—Harris McCallister, the guy she's flirted with for years; the guy she's thought about and pined for. She's finally feeling good about the future when—bam—she gets pregnant. True or not, in her world, nothing says white trash more than an unmarried pregnant woman. Worse, her "loving" mother is threatening her over the B&B and the property it sits on, all because of a silly legend about a pirate's buried treasure. Harris doesn't know what it is about Rachel, but he's always been drawn to her. With her brightly dyed hair and sexy-as-hell tattooed body, she's impossible to ignore—and drives him crazy in all the best ways. Finding out she's carrying his baby has him thinking things he's never thought before. Thoughts he brutally pushes away. Returning to active duty as a Marine Raider is what he wants, not settling down and playing house. He'll stick around just long enough to make sure Rachel and the baby-to-be are safe from increasingly disturbing attacks they both believe has to do with an old legend about a pirate's buried treasure. The longer he stays, though, the tougher returning to duty is becoming. But when the time comes to head back to the Marines, he has to make the toughest decision of his life—duty to his country, or life with the woman he loves.
This story was ok. It moved rather fast and although the author precluded to a kind of relationship before the book begins, I still had a hard time feeling the relationship. I’m not sure if it was because it was just a similar plot to another book I’d just read but unfortunately it was just alright.

A great quick read! Just the right amount of romance and intrigue to keep me happy. Also the right amount of fiery woman and attractive man to keep me interested. I love when a one night stand turns into happily ever after.

ARC received for review

I, of course, haven't read the first book. That didn't matter cause this is a stand alone.

Rachel and Harris have been flirting for awhile. When he stops in on the way to his father's funeral after his best friend has been killed by an IED, they finally hookup and boy are they hot together. I guess his condom was kinda of old, because when he comes back a month later he finds out he's going to be a dad. There's also someone trying to kill Rachel, and her mom wants to hunt for buried treasure. Stupid misunderstanding ensues, but in the end love conquers all.

The epilogue is a call for help from one of his brothers.

1 1/2 stars. Clearly I was not a big fan of this book. Harris and Rachel were just okay. There didn't seem to be any depth or growth to their characters. While they each had some past experiences to make them wary of each other, the amount of animosity didn't translate for me. Then Rachel states she is 2 months pregnant, but goes to get a sonogram and finds out the sex of the baby. Ummm....NO. Not only do I question if this author has ever had a baby, I question if this is a female. Also, I discovered a pet peeve while reading this book. Peanut allergies are serious. If you are going to use it as a plot device, it should be more realistic. Someone who is "highly allergic" to nuts would/should have an Epi-pen with them. Or at least mention it, i.e. "I left it upstairs" or "It's in my purse". And after ingestion said nuts and then vomiting, she cleans the floor instead of getting to the ER immediately?!?! Too unrealistic for me.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Cute accidental pregnancy story with Harris and Rachel. They both had issues that they needed to deal with and sometimes Rachel kind of annoyed me when she kept making decisions without thinking about Harris.

I enjoyed the addition of a treasure hunt and how they searched for it. It was also kind of a drama as there were multiple attempts on Rachel's life.

Nice HEA and what a little teaser with Lee's call for help! That sounds like a really good book, and I will have to read that one, also!!

3.5 stars—SEAL’s Accidental Family is the second instalment in Leslie North’s contemporary, adult SEAL AND VETERAN erotic, romantic, military suspense series focusing on the McCallister Brothers-Chance,Harris and Lee. This is Marine Raider Harris McCallister, and B&B owner Rachel Winchester’s story line. SEAL’s Accidental Family can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Harris and Rachel) SEAL’s Accidental Family follows the building relationship between Marine Raider Harris McCallister, and B&B owner Rachel Winchester. On leave following a failed mission, and the subsequent death of his father, Harris McCallister came face to face with the woman he has lusted after for a number of years. A one-night stand, leads to an unplanned pregnancy, and Harris makes plans for the future knowing he may not be around when the child is born. A series of attacks against the woman with whom he will fall in love finds Harris battling between head and heart, as Rachel struggles to trust the man who has fathered her child. What ensues is the building relationship between Rachel and Harris, and the potential fall-out as misunderstanding, greed and betrayal send Rachel’s life spiralling out of control as folk tales of buried treasure begin to bring out the crazy.

The relationship between Rachel and Harris is one of immediate attraction; a one-night stand that turns into something more when Rachel discovers she is pregnant. Not wanting to force Harris into fatherhood, Rachel gives Harris the option of moving on, only to discover that Harris is willing to step up and take control. Issues of trust continue to plague our leading couple, issues that will push Harris out of Rachel’s life. The $ex scenes are steamy and hot.

We are introduced to Rachel’s mother Tammy, and her boyfriend Darryl, as well as several guests at Rachel’s B&B.

SEAL’s Accidental Family is a quick read; an enjoyable, provocative, engaging and fast past story wherein one man will find his happily ever after in spite of the turmoil surrounding his life. The writing style is simple; the conflict is quickly resolved.

THE SEAL'S ACCIDENTAL FAMILY by Leslie North is a quick read. Rachel who owns a B&B discovers she's pregnant from a one night stand. Harris the one night stand is in the military and was recently put on leave due to a crazy mission. During the mission Harris's best friend was killed. Add in Rachel's mother and her friend who will stop at nothing to discover a hidden treasure. You've got a fast moving story with lots of twists!

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This book was fantastic. I so fell in love with Harris. He was absolutely drool-worthy. What a great male protagonist!!!! Rachel was a wonderful female protagonist. She had a life filled with hard knocks so she was a strong female to match with Harris' Marine strength. It was amazing to watch the chemistry between this two. Throw in a possible pirate's treasure and multiple attempts on Rachel's life and you won't want to put this down.

I was glued to my e-reader as I couldn't put this down. The story just draws you in. The suspenseful but romantic plot will keep you on the end of your seat. The sparks between these two start flying right from the very beginning!

I highly recommend this story to anyone. While this story can really be a stand-alone, I would recommend reading the first story and get to know the older brother Chance and just a little bit about Lee (his' story is the third in the series.)

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the second book in a series. It reads well as a stand alone. This is the story of the 2nd son Harris, a Marine Raider, and Rachel a purple haired B&B owner! I liked it but didn't love it. Couldn't really relate to Rachel. I rate this a 3.5.

An enjoyable read. This is the first book that I've read by this author and I will certainly look for more. While the story was complete in the majority, there is a cliffhanger that was not expected.

Meh. Seemed kind of jumpy. Decent suspense, but the book itself felt jumpy. The arguments weren't over anything important and felt more like the author was trying to add drama.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this story. The main characters were each so well drawn with their personalities and personal challenges. It didn't take me long to really like them and want to see them win. Together. I liked that this book not only had the great main characters but there was plenty of emotions, romance, mysteries and some dangerous actions going on. I think this book is now going onto one of my favorites by this author.
Rachel has had to be tough growing up the way she has but she still has a huge, caring heart. The way she grew up just added to her insecurities and misunderstandings between the M.C.'s. But it also added to some hot make-up sex.
Like Harris points out to her, Rachel shows a lot of love and caring in the way she treats people around her. Especially the people who come to her B&B. Now, her "loving" mother was quite the disaster. She just keeps adding to Rachel's problems. And her mother isn't all that smart when it comes to picking boyfriends. You'll have to read the book to find out if she has any redeeming qualities at all though.
It's shown over and over what a great guy Harris is, even though he isn't always understood by Rachel. She was used to having to do everything herself without any help. She failed to recognize that the love language that Harris had was..acts of service. Of course, working on stuff was about the only time he and his dad had together too. I really appreciated the unusual quirk/skill that Harris had. It was like the land spoke to him. It was explained that it was like the land called to him. It was something that aided him and his team in the military and does so again at home.
I LOVED how creative Rachel was when she does the gender reveal to Harris. It was unique, charming and fun.
There is a good H.E.A. for the couple in the Epilogue and leads into one of Harris's brothers needing his help. A bit of that adventure was seen in an excerpt of, "SEAL'S Home-coming." Sounds interesting and it looks like its out now.

Whoa! Action-packed, Very strong characters. Good romantic story. All the things necessary in an adventure/romance and all with a HEA ending. I'm going back to read book 1 and then on to book 3. Leslie North has not disappointed me yet so kudos for another successful series.

This book was gifted to me by the publisher in return for an honest review.
