Another delightful fun romantic romp from Janna MacGregor's Rogue Most Wanted continues the Cavensham Heiresses series and takes us to romantic Scotland. This book is as beautiful on the inside as its gorgeous cover is on the outside.

Loved, loved, loved this story! Thea was raised with only her grandfather loving her, with no other family and no friends growing up. Will was raised surrounded by love, but hurt by it when he was a young man. When disaster strikes and she's about to lose her title, Will comes to the rescue by being her friend. Their friendship was great to watch and see progress as it did. Thea had never really been around others, so the acceptance of his family was like heaven to her. I loved how natural and outspoken she was! Will just became one of the perfect hero's by wanting to do whats best for Thea. There were a few misunderstandings but how the story line progressed was perfect! Thank you for the advanced copy, this book is well worth the read and loss of sleep I got staying up to finish the book!

In the fifth book in the Cavenshire heiresses series, Janna MacGregor once again delves into the intricacies of the London aristocracy of the 1700’s and all their society rules. Theodora Worth (Lady Eanruig) finds herself in need of protecting the Scottish title she inherited from her grandfather from the greedy hands of a distant relative who lays claim to the title. In enlisting the aid of an elderly neighbor, she unwittingly places herself in the match-making hands of Lady Stella Payne and her friend. Lord William Cavensham has no desire to be married and has the reputation of being unlucky in love, and vows that his aunt will not be successful in her endeavors. To his surprise, he soon finds that Lady Theodora also does not wish to marry. As the young duo vow to help each other solve her problem and traverse through the London Season, the attraction they have towards each other takes a romantic and sensual detour. The plot of the story has its ups and downs, good and evil characters and family members who lend some humor and support to the main characters as the story winds to its end. I find this genre especially entertaining as well as historical in facts or politics of the times. Any of the books in this series can be read as a stand-alone, but the natural flow from one book to another let’s the reader learn more details about all the peripheral characters. I received an ARC of this book from the author, publisher and NetGalley in return for an honest review, which this has been. #JannaMacGregor, #RogueMostWanted, #NetGalley

I completely loved this story. Janna MacGregor again created a romance that was so well told I was lost in the pages. I couldn’t put it down! As where the plot of the story is not terribly unique to the genre, JM writes a tapestry of characters with depth that pulls you right into their world and makes this story shine.

Rogue Most Wanted (The Cavensham Heiresses #5) by Janna MacGregor What a great book and wonderful series...each with it's own HEA. Thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for allowing me to preview and review this book. Lord William Cavensham(Will) and Lady Theodora Worth(Thea... Lady Eanruig (Countess) both have had their own trials..He was jilted at the age of 19 and refuses to have his heart hurt again... She is orphaned at a young age and raised by her Grandfather(Duke/Count) There are laughs, tears, gossip, a scheming new Duke, lots of fun with Cavensham relatives, steamy stuff all leading to a very HEA.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Page-turner Happily Ever After Great world building Steamy Witty Romantic Entertaining Wonderful characters Easy-to-read Tear-jerker

Predictable and romantic plot. I would recommend this book for all historical romance readers. It was good read but not enough to wow me...

One would think a book with the title Rogue Most Wanted would have more of a rogue vibe, but I didn't really mind that. Will and Thea were delightful as a hero and heroine, and I loved the inclusion of family in their story. Beyond that, I felt like their story got bogged down in inheritance law and a very cardboard bad guy.

This was a well-written, entertaining historical romance. Lady Theodora Worth has inherited an earldom but her claim is being challenged. Her neighbor introduces Thea to her great-nephew, Lord William Cavensham. They develop a friendship and they each begin to wonder if they might have found something (someone) more. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

ROGUE MOST WANTED by Janna MacGregor starts with a just-right story for today that makes woman’s empowerment a central theme. PThe h, Lady Theodora Worth, is actually a countess in her own right and is more correctly known as the Countess of Eanruig. The old Scottish title was passed through her grandfather’s grandmother to her and not to the male heir of her grandfather’s title, Duke of Ferr-Colby. But greed makes fools of many and this new Duke wants it all.

Old fashioned thinking leads Thea’s solicitors to recommend that she seek a husband, or at least an engagement, to better defend her right to the title. Through an elderly friend, Thea is introduced to Lord William Cavensham with the suggestion that they just may suit. As these two get to know each other, there are some lovely scenes. Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer lovely scenes and more and more dragging chapters as the book progresses. There is far too much of the “will-she/won’t-she” played continuously throughout far too many pages with very little new information. Additionally, the beginning of each chapter features an excerpt from an exploitive broadsheet, The Midnight Cryer, which is absolutely vicious to Thea and William. It never was revealed why these two garnered such hateful comments and I found this repetitive nastiness to be depressing and unnecessary.

There are high points to the novel, such as the obvious research and clarification of inheritance law differences in England and Scotland. Additionally, I was captivated by the Cavensham family’s obvious closeness and support of each other. However, as the book progressed, I found less and less to keep me interested and found it more difficult to proceed. Additionally, once I reached the conclusion, I’m afraid I only thought “finally!” I’d recommend this book for fans of primogeniture minutiae rather than Regency romance.

Oh, how I love these Cavenshams!

Poor Will ... still hasn't gotten over being jilted so many years ago, so he agrees to help Thea with a hearts-free marriage of convenience. Before they can get hitched, however, so many complications arise, not the least of which is someone falling in love! Thea is a remarkable woman, a perfect match for Will, a dedicated landowner for her tenants. This captivating story unfolds slowly enough that we can soak up each and every emotion and development as they come along.

This story is a celebration of true love throughout, and I enjoyed it as much as - if not more so - than the previous books in the series. If you love Regency romances, this is a must-read author. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This was a great historical romance. I enjoyed Thea & Will & seeing how their relationship developed. You have Thea who has only been around her grandfather most of her life & his last 7 years of life were spent in senility. She's thirsty for love & affection. Will was jilted at a young age by his first love & is now jaded to it. He has a loving family but doesn't think love is in the cards for him. Once they meet, Will offers to help Thea claim her inheritance as a friend. Highly recommend reading this book to find out where their story leads them.

I loved the romance between Will and Thea, but I wished there had been more focus on it versus the focus on the drama that led to their meeting. Much of the story was predictable and I found myself wishing it hadn’t been.

I did like the feeling of family and Thea finally not being so alone. I loved Stella and Edith and their matchmaking ways - they added brevity when needed.

I liked the first half with the sloe burn from friends to lovers. The care of the elderly was an interesting point.
The ending of the book was a disappointment. There is all this drama then it is resolved in like 2 pages.

Not something I will recommend.

The relationship between the hero & heroine is romantic and involving and both characters had enough depth to keep me interested,. My problem was with the main premise of the book:: that two people could be so attracted to each other but still insist they were just friends. This went on even to the point when they got physical with each other. Even when they got an inkling as to their own feelings, they were clueless about the other person. For supposedly intelligent people they seemed awfully dumb. It was an obvious and unconvincing plot device. On the other hand, the background story of the heroine getting into a legal fight to prove she had the right as a female to hold onto her title and property, was more interesting. I enjoyed the book and characters so I'm giving it 4 stars.

I'm a sucker for good historical romance and Janna MacGregor always delivers. I've followed the Cavensham Heiresses series since the start and have loved each one. Now it's time for Thea and William's story. The Cavensham brother who loves so deeply and deserves love, yet fears it due to a past rejection of his youth.

Alas, Janna MacGregor is so talented at creating characters I root for and believe in. They are real, flawed, yet passionate. And when they finally realize they love one another, the connection is bliss.

The Premise: Lord William Cavensham knows the men in his family fall in love fast. And when he is just out of university, he believes himself in love, proposes, and is rejected. Thus begins his faulty belief he'll never find love again. Since he lost his opportunity.

Fast-forward several years and we have Theadora Worth. She's an heiress who needs to wed in order to keep her estate. When her next-door neighbor agrees to play matchmaker (as she needs all the help she can get), she doesn't realize her neighbor has her very own nephew in mind. Yes, Lord William. Only he is determined to never fall in love again.

Rogue Most Wanted is a page turner and I finished the story in one sitting. It has all the ingredients I look for in a historical romance: witty writing, likable characters that develop from the beginning to the end, chemistry between the leads, and an interesting spin on the plot. I'm addicted to the Cavenshams and cannot wait for the next in the series.

This is Lord William Cavensham and Lady Theadora Worth’s story, book 5 in the Cavensham Heiresses series, a standalone, no cheating, happily ever after, historical romance, with lots of steamy scenes.
Both Will and Thea are strong characters, with interesting backstories. The build of a newfound friendship, to best friends, to love (lots of steam) is romantic and believable. The Cavensham family, who supports both Will and Thea with love and gentle nudge’s (meddling in some cases), are engaging and likeable.
Although, there was a moment in the story where I was disappointed in a decision that Thea makes, she redeems herself further on in the story. The gossip papers interjections did not add to the story in several instant’s and would have been impossible for the paper to “know” some of the “news” it was spreading or surmising. Because of this, my rating is more of 3.5 stars which rounds up to a 4. Still, a good read, and I look forward to more from this author.

Already devastated by the death of the grandfather who raised her and was her only family, Lady Theodora Worth is even more distressed to learn she's in danger of losing the estate she calls home and the Scottish title of Countess of Eanruig she inherited. In order to face down the new duke and stand the best chance of keeping her home and keeping her tenants from being evicted, Thea must marry someone noble, and fast. Unfortunately, she was raised by her rather eccentric grandfather, isolated in the wilds of Northumberland, and doesn't know the first thing about being a proper lady or making a good match. Fortunately for her, her neighbor Lady Stella Payne is there to help Thea find just the right husband.

Since being left jilted and heartbroken years previously by a woman who wanted better than a duke's second son, Lord William Cavensham has sworn off love. However, his Great Aunt Stella has other ideas: marry her neighbor, Thea, or she'll disinherit him. Once he meets Thea himself, Will finds he might have other ideas too, unwilling as they may be, and finds he genuinely wants to help Thea. Though Stella is unlikely to make good on her threat, she does know Will and Thea need each other and she'll stop at nothing to see them together.

Will thinks Thea doesn't want him and Thea believes herself unworthy of the love of such a good man. This combined with Thea's need to make sure her tenants are cared for means chaos and misunderstandings abound. Neither of our main characters truly knows how to love so it was lovely to see them learn and grow. They were put into an impossible situation and this actually became a very emotional book and I was rather stressed waiting for their happy ending to work out. The final chapters were quite romantic and very well done. I'm looking forward to the next installment in the series.

Every now and then a good historical romance is just what is called for and Janna MacGregor never fails to impress.

Although I am not usually a big fan of a damsel in distress story (and this was a MAJOR case of distress) I absolutely loved the back and forth banter and the constant “will they or won’t they” that surrounded Theo and Will. I am in serious need of a Stella and Edith in my life!

The politics when it comes to heiresses in this era always gets to me and I do feel like Theo was grossly underestimated throughout the book, especially considering all that she had been through to this point, but I think her struggles were so important for the story when it came to the bigger picture and bringing the Cavensham’s into her life. There were so many feel-good moments that it was hard to read this book without having a stupid, sappy grin on my face. I know it was there….I could feel it.

The only thing that really bothered me when reading this was that I was expecting a little more….rogue-ishness. It isn’t even a complaint, because the book really didn’t need a typical rogue character, but the title really does imply something a bit more.

Overall, in true MacGregor fashion, Rogue Most Wanted was a thoroughly enjoyable and quick read filled with a slow burning romance, rejection, heartbreak and struggles in society. Throw in a meddling aunt, an unconventional family and a socially awkward heroine and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a rainy night read.

This isn’t my first journey with the Cavensham family and I truly hope it isn’t my last. I just love everything about this family and Rogue Most Wanted made me love them all even more! I wait to see where they take us next.

Good premises for the book. Good overview of the Scottish Law versus the English Law regarding properties on that period. Good enough characters. At times it was difficult to find the connection between the leads. Someone else will see it but I just didn't.

I've read 3 other books in this series that I actually loved, but by this point I'm not being invested in the story as I was with the others. The main couple is an unlikely pair, that I haven't seen any type of connection yet at this point. I just can't continue, and the plot seems a bit far fetched for me.
