Lady Theodora Worth spent the last seven years of her life sequestered with her beloved grandfather, the Duke of Ferr Colby; who had severe dementia. She protected him from the wagging tongues of the ton. Upon his death she has inherited an ancient Scottish title Earl of Eanruig and her beloved home of Ladykryk. (Scottish law allowed women to inherit land and titles.) However, the new Duke is challenging her rights as he wants to remove all the farmers and plunder the land for mineral rights. She must travel to London and fight for herself and her tennants. She is aided by Lord William Cavendish, the second son of a Duke and nephew to Thea's neighbor. Will has a history of being jilted, so he's trying hard to avoid relationships, so a "fake" betrothal ensues.
The story is interesting and the characters and sub characters even more so. There are enough twists to keep you guessing. I enjoyed the book and will seek out others by this author. i would recommend this book to others. I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was an AWESOME book!
So glad I read it, the last book in the series was not my favorite but this one was great :) Thea has to overcome some major obstacles due to some unforeseen circumstances. Her next door neighbor has the perfect solution, if she can just get her nephew to cooperate. The details in this story were great and made you feel like you really got to know the characters and their struggles. I would highly recommend that you put this one on your summer TBR list!
I volunteered to read this book from St.Martin's Press in exchange for my honest feedback, the thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

Lord William Cavensham- 2nd son, scorned by his young "true love " since he is unwillingly to love again. He is the Great nephew of Stella
Lady Theodora Worth- heir (under Scottish law) to her grandfather 2nd estate. -(Loved her character, moral backbone and inner strength )
I enjoyed reading this captivating story that has charismatic characters and sub characters (Loved Stella and Edith!). The beginning was great drew the reader in, and the middle more drama and a bit slow,, however the ending was great! Their HEA came slowly but it was wonderful and exciting!
**ARC was provided to me by Net Galley for a fair and honest review. **

"Rogue Most Wanted" by Janna MacGregor
You really do not want to miss this Regency romance story. It is well woven, and well written. It will have you smiling, maybe even chuckling, and it just may turn you into a watering pot, too. I received a free ARC from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion of the story. Happy Reading.

I have become a huge Janna MacGregor fan!! While I dont read alot of Regency romance I've found a few authors that write intelligent, strong heroines...Ms MacGregor being one of them. Thea is fearless yet vulnerable. She became her grandfather's caretaker during his illness as well as the manager of his estate. After his death her claim to Ladykyrk is challenged and Thea needs to either find the charter granting her the title or marry in order to help her claim to it. Unfortunately because she has been isolated all these years she doesn't know how to navigate her way through society, nor does she know any available men. Enter Aunt Stella and her good friend Lady Edith. Aunt Stella is Will Cavensham's great aunt and she has decided Will and Thea are perfect for each other. What follows is a captivating, enchanting tale of love and heartbreak that will have you alternately laughing and wiping away tears as the entire Cavensham clan takes Thea under its collective wing. I found Thea very sympathetic and easy to like and Will is the perfect hero...protective and loving. His main concern is to be there to give her whatever she needs.
I loved this book and didn't want to put it down...I read it in a day. The Cavensham family is a delight and I look forward to more books about them...and hopefully we'll see Will and Thea again. Thank you to Netgalley for providing an early copy of Rogue Most Wanted to read and review.

This is the fifth book in the series but can be read as a stand alone book. A fun love story! I liked the different characters and their personalities. Love is a battlefield- no truer statement. Fighting for your happily ever after is well worth it.

This one snuck up on me. I’ve enjoyed many romances by this author, so opened the pages with high expectations. After a few chapters, my interest was waning a bit. It moves slower than I expected but once it picked up the pace, it proved itself to be yet another fabulous offering from Ms. MacGregor.
Surprisingly, I even found myself crying at one point. I think you’ll enjoy this romance. When you read Thea pouring her heart out, don’t be surprised if you too find yourself reaching for a Kleenex.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Adeline, the Dowager Countess of Wake is finally free to do as she pleases after her husband’s death. She has no desire to remarry ever. She is opening a school for girls and living the life she wants. Enter Lord Lyonwood, the next door neighbor who mistakes Adeline for a madam of a brothel. He’s met his match but she’s not interested in a proposal. Then she proposes another arrangement that he can’t refuse. A good read for fans of historical romance.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first read by this author, and I truly enjoyed it. There was no predictable trope. The dialogue was witty, the heroine was strong, with an unconventionality that was completely plausible based on her upbringing. The evolution of a solid friendship into deep love for each other was poignant and profound. The obstacles faced by the couple were based on their own insecurities and misplaced convictions, and easily overcome. The intimate scenes were wonderfully written and filled with laughter, conversation and tenderness.

Rogue Most Wanted, is a great reversal roll story. This time it is Lady Thea who needs to marry to save her title. It's so obvious to us that Will is the only choice. It was fun watching Thea come to the same conclusion. The Cavensham's help in so many ways to get these two together.

Thea has inherited Scottish earldom from her grandfather upon his death. She is fighting Duke Ferr-Colby, who is claiming an English right to the title.
Will has had his heart broken and has vowed never to love.
These two people are brought together by great aunt Stella. She is Wills great aunt and was a friend of Theas grandfather. Thea turns to her with her estate problems and she sees a perfect matchmaking opportunity.
Unfortunately I just did not like this book. I found it extremely boring, throughout basically the whole thing. I’m not really sure where it went wrong. Perhaps the dramatic beginning made me think it would go in a different direction.
Will has a prologue about how hard he has become due to his hurt and betrayal, yet immediately does what he can do to help Thea. It implies he doesn’t really interact with women, like he’s cold and given up. At balls he spends time in the card room. Yet when he meets Thea he’s overcome with protective feelings about how he would not let her suffer. This in itself would be a wonderful thing if he didn’t repeatedly say ‘Cavensham men fall in love decidedly and completely’, and this was not it. It didn’t feel like love or infatuation . I guess it just didn’t add up with the character personality that had been built thus far. Perhaps if some interactions happened that has weaseled under his guard, but all they did as meet and she ate a jam tart.
Thea comes off as so innocent and naive due to her seclusion with her grandfather. She navigates how to act in society with Will and the support in his family. There are plenty of scenes that display how hesitant and nervous she is about every day activities like dancing and eating a formal dinner. However when it comes to interacting physically with Will once they cross that line, she’s the total opposite, more assertive. Again, nothing wrong with this, but I just felt like it didn’t fit her character.
Somehow I didn’t feel much tension or build with these characters. They fell a bit flat for me. Perhaps it was a personally conflict with me.
There are quite a few sweet scenes in this book. I enjoyed Thea’s dessert bond with Wills father. Great Aunt Stella was a wonderful addition to the story.
I really didn’t understand the downright nasty maliciousness of the scandal sheet that preludes each chapter. I have usually enjoyed when books include these things, but this was just mean and felt so out of place. I’m not sure if any of the other books included the Midnight Cryer so maybe I was missing something.
This is a part of a series but is fine as a stand-alone. I’m not sure how much insight you get to Wills character through the other books, but you do get to see a few married couples, that I’m assuming were the stars of their own books previously. You might have better luck with this book if you’ve read the series, I’m not sure.

I loved Thea and Will's story, it was a very fun read, with a couple of heartbreaking parts in the mix. It was great to see Will come around from his earlier heartbreak and realize he was able to fall in love. It was heartbreaking to watch Thea decide to give him up for the benefit of the people she is responsible for.

Good book. I'd not read any of the other books in this series but this might change now. In most of the story it was circumstances that was the problem rather than a dark villain. He seemed to turn up nearer the end to undermine our hero. I think if you had read the rest of the series you would enjoy the return of the other characters. The author wrote with great poignancy of the affliction suffered by the grandfather and how it had affected our heroine.
A passionate story which I think folk will enjoy.

Rogue Most Wanted ⭐️⭐️.5
Wanted: an engagement of convenience. Found: A noble suitor.
Raised on a remote Scottish estate by her adoring grandfather, Lady Theodora Worth has inherited an earldom as well as the land itself. But when an upstart duke challenges her claim to the title and the Ladykyrk estate, Thea is suddenly in need of a husband—in name, at least. An elderly neighbor with a thoroughly modern sensibility and a dashing great-nephew just might be the answer to Thea’s prayers. Except she has no intention of marrying the first man she meets. That would be utterly ridiculous.
It just can’t be him. . .
Lord William Cavensham is entirely too devoted to his family’s estate—ever since he was jilted as a lad--to wed, but he agrees to meet the woman his aunt has taken under her wing—and introduce her to possible suitors. But after just one meeting with beautiful, spirited Thea, Will is determined to help her reclaim her title. And even moreso, he can’t stop thinking that perhaps marriage to this bold, passionate woman may be the one thing he’s been missing all along?
There’s one creed all Cavensham men subscribe to: they fall in love completely and decidedly. But what happens when the woman you fall in love with swears she'll only marry you as a last resort? Rogue Most Wanted is the 5th book in the Cavensham Heiress series by Janna MacGregor and can be read as a stand-alone.
Having read several books in the series, I enjoy seeing the characters from her other books interact here. Actually they were probably the best part of the book.
I just felt the main characters Thea and Will weren’t fully developed, the book didn’t connect all the dots for me. All in all it was an OK book that should have and could have been a great read.
I received this ARC for free in exchange for my honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thank you NetGalley, Janna MacGregor and MacmillanUSA.

This is the first time I have read a book by this author and I will be reading more. I liked this book and felt like it was an easy, quick read. It held my interest from the start to the finish. I enjoyed the older aunt character as well as all the other characters in the book. I did feel like it dragged a little toward the end but other than that small issue I enjoyed finding this new author for me. I would recommend this book and author to others.

This latest installment in Janna MacGregor's The Cavensham Heiresses series has truly likeable main characters. Thea and Will with all of their 'flaws' deserve the happiness they are struggling to find. There is mystery, villians, a scurrilous newspaper, humor and family love in 'Rogue Most Wanted.' Unfortunately for me, there is also graphic sexual descriptions. I just have clued in on when to start skipping pages and I didn't miss out at all on the lovely story. There were hints of more to come, and I look forward to it!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

A very good novel, it's well written, engaging and entertaining.
I loved the way the author developed her very complex and realistic characters and how she makes you root for them and share their feeling.
The historical background is well researched and I liked how it was detailed.
It's one of those book you have to read as fast as you can.
I look forward to reading other books by this author, I'm happy I discovered her books.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

This book was a bit slow going in the beginning. It felt like a lot of read reading before this couple even met ( it probably felt longer than it was).
Once they met, though, the story took off. Will had been jilted ten years before the book starts, since then he had hardened his heart against others and buried himself in his family’s estates. When his great aunt decides to set him up with her neighbor he humors her and meets the girl, Thea. They immediately decide they do not want to get married but decide to be friends. It doesn’t take either of them long to regret that. They fall in love, but it seems circumstances will keep them apart unless Thea can find proof of her inheritance, which was hidden by her grandfather before his death. Without that proof she has to jilt Will again and marry her cousin to save her estate.
This is book 5 in a series, I have not read any of the prior books (this book suggests we would know the hero better if the other books were read). That said, it didn’t dwell on prior characters and stood well on its own.

I enjoyed this book. It was so nice seeing a strong heroine who was a countess in her own right! And Will and his family were just lovely. I thought this was a very well written story and thank you to netgalley for the ARC!

I've been waiting for Will's book for a while now and it didn't disappoint!
A hero devoted to his family that has had his heart broken and a stoic heroine with a sense of duty and loyalty to the land she belongs to, Will and Theodora are simply meant to be.
I love how they desperately try not to fall for each other and they can't avoid it. I really like the honesty they have with each other and how the conflict is derived from their circumstances (external ones) that they are able to overcome together and not because of miscommunication or petty dramas between them.
I've said this before in the series and I'll say it again... I love seeing a loving, caring family of the ton. The Cavenshams are kind, thoughtful and care for one another and others and sometimes we need to read about that and be reminded of the good in the world.
