Ms. MacGregor has written another entertaining book with a different type of story line and great characters. Theo has to fight to keep the title she inherited from her grandfather, but there is a male relative who will challenge her for the title. But along comes Lord William who will try to assist The I with keeping her title. But while William has sworn off love after he was jilted at a young age he will find the he will not be able to be resist Theo and finds himself reluctantly falling love with her.

This is another good read.by this author. I received this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

Right from the description I had a feeling I was going to love this story – and I was right! Lady Theodora Worth had grown up on a remote Scottish estate by her loving grandfather, actually a pretty idyllic childhood, until her grandfather began to show signs of forgetfulness and Theodora then fell into the reverse roll of caring for him. As a Countess in her own right she had kept the estate of Ladykyrk in excellent shape and the many tenants happy - well nourished and thriving. However when her grandfather died the new Duke challenges her claim to the title and Ladykyrk estate. Her long time lawyer (who now threw his lot in with the ‘new’ duke) advised her she needed a husband. Thea’s wise elderly neighbor with a thoroughly modern sensibility and a dashing great-nephew just might have the answer to Thea’s prayers. Except Thea has no intention of marrying the first man she meets, even if he’s so handsome he makes her flesh tingle!

Naturally, Lord William Cavensham would do most anything to keep his Aunt happy but after a very youthful heartbreaking experience he was gun-shy of ever putting his heart on the line again. But, there was no denying his honor and to help this beautiful lady in need he would be her ‘best’ friend and help her in anyway he could!

With wonderful dialogs, characters, and l even a nasty new duke there were many moments during the reading of this tome that I sat back in pleasure to simply bask in the delightful story. One of the more relaxed (even if I had rouble putting it down) books I’ve read this summer!

Entertaining story and great continuation of the Cavensham series. I was happy to see a few characters from the previous books back, but if you didn't know this was a series, this book does stand alone. When Thea told William she couldn't marry him, I thought my heart was breaking with him. Thank goodness she didn't have to marry her cousin to keep Ladykyrk! Great book with a HEA that I highly recommend. Can't wait to read the next one in the series!

Lady Theodora Worth had spent the last seven years caring for her ailing grandfather, even after he couldn't remember who she was anymore. With her grandfather's death, she inherited her home of Ladykyrk as well as the earldom that came with it, but another duke is challenging her claim to the title and lands. Her good neighbor's nephew, Lord William Cavensham, is willing to be her friend and help her through the legal process, including possibly marrying to cement her suitability for a title. The proximity only keeps reminding them how perfect they are for each other, even though neither wanted to marry.

Rogue Most Wanted is the fifth of the Cavensham Heiresses books in the series, but you don't necessarily have to read the prior two novels to understand this one. Some of the characters are mentioned, since it's an extended family, but all that is necessary to know is that the Cavensham family is known for its marriages based on love, not just money and titles.

Both Thea and Will care more about others on the properties and for extended families than propriety, which puts Thea at a disadvantage. The newspapers love to poke fun at the Cavensham family, particularly Will, so Thea by extension also is the source of terrible gossip. She doesn't have the social skin for it and lacks a family of her own without her grandfather. While the title seems to paint Will as a rogue, he's hardly an emotionless man bent on seducing women for his amusement. He avoids marriage because his heart had been broken at nineteen, and instead has poured his energy into helping his family maintain properties and helping the tenants. It's a given that the two are not only friends but develop romantic feelings for each other, and that there are obstacles in the way. Being a romance novel, we get our happily ever after in the form of a last minute save. I almost don't mind that because the two of them certainly deserve happiness, and absolutely deserve each other.

Rogue Most Wanted isn’t really a fitting title for this, but I guess Nice Guys I Can’t Marry For No Reason isn’t a catchy title. I liked quite a few things in this book, but it had one thing that didn’t really work for me at all.

But, let's talk about the good stuff first. Both main characters are very likeable.

Thea ran the estate, she now has to fight for, over the last years as her Grandfather's mental health declined. She is smart, independent, and dreams of marrying for love. Since she spent the last years living with her ailing grandfather, she has none of the normal skills of the gentry, silly stuff like dancing, pouring tea, general etiquette. However, she does have the Scottish estate and a very sizable inheritance so it should be no trouble finding someone to marry when her title is challenged.

William had his heart broken at a young age and you can see how that has really shaped his life. He is no rogue though, he’s barely had any experience with women. He is the younger son, not set to inherit but helps to run various family estates and integral to the family. He is also the favorite of his Great Aunt Stella, who lives right next door to Thea, and the match making biddy is determined to get those two together. She will even go so far as to disinherit him *wink, wink* if he doesn’t marry Thea.

Great Aunt Stella is actually my favorite character of the series and if her meddling is involved in the other books of the series, I think it would be worth reading them just for that. She was absolutely hilarious on every page she made it on.

The issue I had was after the main characters get to know one another a little more they both still cling to the mantra of "but I can’t marry him/her for no reason". There is nothing in their way really until about the 85% mark and I’m not sure that needed to be there, or it could have been introduced earlier. Shrugs, it is just a pet peeve of mine when characters keep repeating the same words over and over even when they make no sense. There was nothing in the way of them getting married other than Thea said within the first two minutes of meeting William that she wouldn’t marry him.

Overall, this is a cute story and the first half of the book flows really well. The second half could use a little pacing or introduction of the conflict a bit earlier. I’d figured out where the title papers were hidden very early on and was just waiting for them to be found in the last minute.

Rogue Most Wanted by Janna MacGregor is the 5th book in The Cavensham Heiress Series. Even though this is book 5 it can be read as a standalone, I am going to go and read the previous books so that I will be all caught up with the secondary characters and how they got to where they are now. This is my first time reading this author and it won’t be the last. This is a very well written story, the characters are well defined and most are likable. This book had me teary eyed and laughing while reading. I did not enjoy the nasty excerpts from the newspaper I felt it didn’t fit in with this beautiful love story. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I received a copy of this ARC provided by the NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions contained herein are my own.

Lord William Cavensham knew how to handle just about anything even a broken betrothal. Many years later William has learned never to be caught unaware by love or have his heart broken by it. When William meets the Lady Theodora “Thea” Worth the new Countess of Eanruig, who is in charge of Ladykyrk Estates staying with his aunt, he is not all that entranced by her. Theodora learns that she will lose Ladykyrk if she can’t find the deed her grandfather hid; she resorts to not only tearing apart everything looking for it. When William’s aunt suggests in order to keep Ladykyrk that Theodora marry her beloved nephew William, both William and Theodora are adamant against the idea. Of course Theodora realizes in order to convince London that she could be a lady might be more than she can pull off and a marriage even in name only to William doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. Even when Theodora begs William to consider going along with the betrothal which he does everything seems much more real and true love could ruin everything or could it?
This might be the fifth book in the Cavensham Heiresses series the story manages to not only be fresh, engaging and exciting for us readers! At first the book does drag a little in the beginning but does pick up momentum and pretty soon we are immersed in the story and all the feels too. The author just knows how to not only write a beautiful story of a wonderful guy who gets turned down not once but twice in marriage proposals. Sure we not only feel sad for William but we cheer for him. William instantly wins everyone over and despite his hardships never loses who he is. It just sucks that he has to be born second even with the love of his family. Theodora is a great heroine as well! She’s strong, feisty and is not scared to be who she is who couldn’t love that? Yes all the etiquette was just horrible but Theodora still handled everything gracefully even if no one else saw it. Even the villain of the piece isn’t truly horrible and William’s ex could have been a little bit more mean it still gives us hope to read more into this world and there might be another book in this series which will definitely be well worth the wait and a definite read!

This is one of the most romantic stories I read this year. While I started out not really caring for the storylines of some of the previous books, with the exception of Paul’s story which was a WOW for me, this book is my second favorite in this series. It is so very sweet with Will being a beta hero. I think the title is kind of misleading because he is not a rogue, he is a true hero. He stands by Thea and never fails in supporting her. The whole family dynamic came into play in the story. They are a loving family (I am all about that). Oh yeah, there was lots of crying involved in this story (by me). I loved it!

I remember reading an early Harry Potter book and realizing that Harry would marry Ginny Weasley. Ginny offered Harry what he most desired, family. Family is what Thea is missing most in her life. In Rogue Most Wanted Thea, is a young heiress who has taken care of her grandfather and his estates during his decline into dementia. She missed learning about family, friends, and society. She has one cousin who is trying to steal her inheritance. The hero is Will, who had his heart broke 10 years ago and no longer thinks he deserves true love. Will has a large extended family. Will’s Aunt Stella plays matchmaker and tells everyone who would listen that they are getting married. Then she and her friend, Lady Edith start making wedding plans. Thea and Will work through their differences. Thea doesn’t lose her estate. This book gave me the feels. Tears flowed freely. You should read this book.

Lord William Cavensham is a true charmer. He knows what he wants and doesn't want. He is not afraid of hard work. He will do almost anything for his family, which is extensive. Theodora Countess of Ladykyrk and Lady Eanruig is in trouble. She seeks the help of her neighbor, who's solution is to get her married. From the moment they meet, there is a spark. First and foremost a friendship develops. The Cavensham men fall first and hard in love. Unfortunately, the only way to protect her people, she must marry the person who is laying claim to her land. True love will win out in the end.

Rogue Most Wanted by Janna MacGregor is book 5 in The Cavensham Heiresses Series. This is the story of William 'Will' Cavensham and Theodora 'Thea' Worth. I have read (and Loved!) the previous books, but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Thea is at risk of loosing her only home but she needs to ensure that she doesn't. When her friend and neighbor Stella tells her that marriage may be the way, Thea is at a loss. Thea has been hidden away from everything but taking care of her grandfather and her neighbor Stella. So she has never been present to the town nor does she now how to act because she was never really taught how to handle things. Will was summoned to his Great Aunt house thinking it was of a serious matter only to learn that his Aunt wants him to marry her neighbor. Will learned early that love wasn't for him after being hurt and has went on to avoid any such thing or anything close. So staying strong in that thought it is becoming harder with each passing day of being around Thea. Thea doesn't plan on marring the first man she meets...Will. But the more time they are together the more she starts to think of him in a different light.
Loved their story!!! Page turner for me. Can't wait for more from this author!

2.5 stars, rounded up.

Sigh...I tried, I really, really tried - but this book was just not for me. So rather than dissect the plot, I will be brief and just give my general overview of the book.

The writing is fine, the "idea" of the story is fine and even unique, but William is not a rogue, not even close and Thea just broke my heart, repeatedly. Then there are the "The Midnight Cryer" epigraphs at the beginning of the chapters - they are just malicious - I guess that is the point, but they seemed disproportionally so. I liked William and Thea, but honestly, it was just too much drama for drama's sake for my personal taste.

This book was delightfully sweet and charming. The Cavensham family continues to entertain and delight with their goodness and heartfelt stugles to find happily ever afters. Janna MacGregor's style is both uplifting and light, just a perfect beach escape to regency England. I enjoyed it and would recommend the whole series as a easy, charming escape.

I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. rogue most wanted started with a good premise but the plot dragged on and on. It was a struggle to get through the book. the characters were flat and one dimensional. if I wasn't reviewing the book I would not have bothered to finish it.

A Rogue Most Wanted, by Janna MacGregor, is book 5 in the Cavensham Heiresses series. Although part of a series, Rogue Most Wanted is perfectly fine as a stand-alone story. Available June 25th in bookseller locations and on-line, I had the pleasure of an early peek. Ms MacGregor has a way with characters that entices me to become invested. I feel that my time was well spent traveling this journey with Will and Thea.

Lord William Cavensham is a second son. His father, a Duke, is a father we all wish for, his mother is great too. Lucky Will. As the 2nd son he's spent years running the duchy's estates and holdings. He's a great steward, very thoughtful. When he was a young buck Will was hurt badly by his first love. She dumped him for a title and $, ouch. He closed off his heart and carried on with his lonely life. One of my complaints is this books title. Will is not a rogue, he's a nice guy, the marrying kind. He begins to act roguish with Thea but heck, they're good together.

Lady Theodora "Thea" Worth, is the new Countess of Eanruig. It's an old Scottish title that can be passed to the next heir, even a girl. Good luck pronouncing it, it's written out phonetically several times & I still can't do it. Thea's much loved grandfather died and his title passed to a distant relative. This guy wants it all, the dukedom, her title and lands too. What an ass. Thea refuses to marry him just to keep HER birthright. Good girl. She's scared and all alone but determined to hold on and do right by her employees and tenants. Will is the nephew of her next door neighbor and they're thrown together in the legal fight for the earldom. These 2 start out as friends helping each other and, gradually, it turns to lust and then love. They can be hot, hot, hot, when left alone, anywhere. Both Will and Thea have a strong sense of honor and duty. It's a blessing and a curse, it makes the romance run a little bumpy.

My second and last problem is the Midnight Cryer, a gossip rag. It's really, really mean. BTW, Thea has the most fantastic folly of all time. I'm green with envy. Don't miss the few appearances by Lord Fluff, trust me. Ms MacGregor gutted me with book 3, I cried from page 1 to the very ending. Book 4 was a love fest between me and the hero (sigh). Now I can't wait for book 6, Devon's story. Hurry up, will you? Happy reading.

I totally loved reading Rogue Most Wanted by Janna MacGregor, book 5 in her Cavensham Heiresses series. Lady Theodora, “Thea” Worth was raised on a remoter Scottish estate by her grandfather and upon his death inherited an earldom and the land itself. The the selfish and greedy heir to the remainder of the estate challenged her claim to the the title and the Ladykyrk estate. Thea is at a loss where to begin and how to fight to keep her inheritance since the charter for the land is missing. It has been suggested that she find herself a husband; at least in name. As luck would have it, Thea’s elderly neighbor has a dashing great-nephew who just might be the answer to Thea’s prayers. Strong-minded and steel backboned Thea had no intention of marrying the first man she meets as that would not be right. Lord William Cavensham spends way too much time devoted to his family’s estate, especially since being jilted by a woman he believed loved and wanted to marry him when he was a lad. Reluctantly he agrees to meet this woman his great-aunt is mentoring as well as introduce her to possible suitors. However, after meeting the beautiful and spirited Thea, Will is determined to help her in her fight to reclaim her title. In addition, he cannot stop thinking about her or that marriage to this bold, passionate, caring woman might be just what he’s been missing in his life, all along.

Ms. MacGregor wrote a charming, clever, entertaining and amusing story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with humorous escapades, amusing banter, sexual chemistry and endearing characters giving Thea and Will a chance at love, happiness, and a future neither expected. I highly recommend Rogue Most Wanted to other readers.

Not sure who the rogue of the title is (perhaps the new Duke) but it is certainly not the hero. For the last seven years Thea’s grandfather has been ill, becoming increasingly senile. To protect him from being incarcerated in an asylum, Thea has cared for him on an isolated estate with the support of only two faithful servants. From the age of 18 she has run both the ducal estate of Ferr-Colby and the estate of Ladykyrk which she is due to inherit in her own right under Scottish law. (Note: not sure how three people coped with maintaining an Earl’s residence without closing down rooms (which was not mentioned) nor were gardeners and stable hands mentioned, though the House, folly and grounds seem to be immaculate and at least one horse kept.) Unfortunately the progression of her grandfather’s disease led to him hiding things, including the precious charter that confers an Earlship to the female line. Without the necessary documents, the new Duke of Ferr-Colby, who wants the coal deposits on Ladykyrk land, petitions to have the title of Earl of Eanruig and all the entailed estate returned to the male line. Thea’s neighbour, Lady Stella Payne ropes in her nephew, Lord William Cavensham to help her fight for her rights before the House of Lords’ Committee for Privileges. Lady Stella thinks her nephew and Thea should marry but Thea doesn’t want to plump for the first man she has ever met and Lord William, disappointed in love some years previous, has no thought of marriage. Both of course are wrong as they are an ideal match but the course of true love does not run smooth.
There were a fair few grammatical errors in the advanced copy of this book that I voluntarily read and reviewed from NetGalley. Note: all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was the first time I have read anything from MacGregor but it will not be the last. I loved the characters! I think the author did a great job of showing their vulnerability and see their love blossom. Honestly would recommend it to anyone that loves a twist to their Regency novels. I look forward to reading more books from the author.

Theodora Worth the Countess of Eanruig is in jeopardy of loosing the only home she's ever known. William Cavensham has sealed off his heart to people except for family and friends. When her neighbor/his great aunt becomes involved their lives will never be the same again.

Thea has just learned that her right to the only home she's ever known is possibly being taken away. She needs to find a charter that her now deceased grandfather has hidden somewhere on Ladykirk. Thea goes to her neighbor, Lady Payne for help. Lady Stella Payne and her friend Lady Edith Manton come up with a plan that Stella's great nephew William Cavensham should be the one to be Thea's husband. William is summoned to Payne Manor and told the plan. Of course, he doesn't want to have anything to do with it. He agrees to at least meet Thea. Thea is determined to not wed the first man who asks. She asks for Will's help in finding a husband and the charter. This has the two of them becoming friends and trying to convince Stella and Edith that they aren't going to marry. Both of them are extremely attracted to each other. A summons by the deciding body of ton members brings Thea along with her new friends to London to stay at the Langham estate, home of the Cavensham family. Thea's wish comes true and she is treated like family. Her first foray into a social setting doesn't go well. As her feelings about her grandfather's illness are revealed along with preparations for her debut into society and the upcoming meeting with the House of Lords, Committee of Privileges it brings her closer to the entire family. They've become best friends, but keep their feelings to themselves. William is jealous of his friends who he introduces to Thea as potential husbands. Thea gets a marriage proposal. Her adversary comes and makes an offer. Meanwhile William and Thea are getting closer and can't deny the passion between them. William teaches Thea the ways of love and passion. The whole Cavensham family supports Thea at her hearing. Things don't go her way and another offer by her adversary is accepted. William is shocked and devastated when Thea explains the reasons for why she accepted the marriage proposal. He confesses his love for her. She confesses her love to his mother and great aunt and then heads home to Ladykirk. Both of them are barely able to function in their current situations. William's conversation with his father has him fighting for the woman he can't live without. Restless, Thea takes a walk to a favorite place on the estate and finds a letter from her grandfather. She begins to think she knows where to find the charter needed to make her claim. As she heads back into the folly she finds William. He clarifies that she has found the charter and they declare their love for each other. Thea gets a surprise when she comes to dinner that night at Payne Manor. Marriage proposal, marriage with a trip to London for a celebration and a baby on the way.

Janna MacGregor writes a saucy, entertaining, and flirty group of characters. You'll grow to love the meddling great aunt and feel the loneliness of Countess Eanruig. You'll want to boo The Midnight Cryer in the London paper for it's lies. The conflicted feelings of Lord William as he doesn't want to open his heart because of a past embarrassment and refusal. There is also a very what seems like opinionated cat named Lord Fluff. You'll fall in love with the entire Cavensham family and how they immediately include Thea into the family and help her to win the Rogue Most Wanted. I'm looking forward the seeing the next Cavensham Heiress to fall in love and will it be with William's friend, the preacher and his former love? And what will the next painting that Aunt Stella paints?

Lady Theodora Worth has been caring for her family's estate since before her grandfather died. Now her Scottish title and lands are being challenged by an English duke. When she goes to Lady Stella for advice, Stella suggests that her great nephew Will is the man for her. Will is the sweet second son of a duke who doesn't want to risk his heart again. Thea is not ready to marry the first man she meets but Will might be the right man for her and the estate. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I love this book. It is full of humor, romance, suspense, and some steamy scenes. I enjoy the quotes from a fictional gossip scandal sheet that was between each chapter slamming the main characters. Both Thea and Will are very likable characters. This is the first book that I have read by this author. It's definitely enjoyable as a standalone. I plan to read more in the series. I recommend this book.
