DNF.

The writing style isn’t just my thing. The characters as well didn’t appeal to me and kind of not interesting enough.

The plot and the events were bland. It’s just feel like watching a movie and that there’s no thrill on watching it because there’s not enough emotions put.

I just hope that the characters were more likable and the writing style was bit better.

Gotta love this story, from the instant rafael and daisy meet in a gay bar there is chemistry and misunderstandings, there is sparks and trouble as both have there own dilemmas but fate keeps throwing them together.
Watch the drama and sex unfold as the unlikeliest of pairs fall...

I don't really know what I was expecting for this book but I wasn't really that much of a fan. I thought it would be a cool little read and it entertained me but there were just too many prejudices. I know the book talks about subjects which are controversial but I think that the author was trying too much. The timelines were bizarre, sometimes every day in a week was detailed and other times a whole week or month went by ... I don't really know what specifically didn't cut it for me in the book, i enjoyed the writing style but i think that Daisy was very naive and Raphael was a bit of a hot head... I hope I'll prefer some other of this authors books but it wasn't for me, sorry !

4 STARS for Taming The Bad Boy by Jolie Moore

ARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own & have not been influenced in any way.

Rafe ( IE Rafael ) definitely is a very BAD BOY !! He does not do relationships strictly hookups & a few that have certainly gotten him into BIG trouble. Daisy is a really interesting character on the outside we know she is an Ivy League graduate but it is somewhat shocking to find out what her career is. ( if you could call it that )

Daisy & Rafael meet at a gay bar - the attraction on Daisy’s part is immediate but of course she thinks Rafael is gay. Rafael feels the same way about DaIsy but things really seem to get off on the wrong foot for them both ....

This story is a different read for me - the only reason I did not rate it 5 STARS is that I wanted both characters to clear up their issues & get together sooner.

Jolie Moore is a very talented author writing with lots of humor & this particular book ( my first by the author ) has a very unique story line. I’ve added Jolie to my TBR author list as well !!

There is a HEA but it does take a bit for Daisy & Rafael to get there ...

Enjoyed this book & loved these (2) characters. !!!

Sexy romance. Super steamy. Full of all the things your mama warned you about. If you like disobeying your mama, then read this one and stay up all night long.

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley!!

The blurb was interesting.... spicy enough to intrigue you and draw you in, but vague enough to not tell too much.
The cover was sexy in it's own as well.

The book was a quick easy sexy read for me.

i'd read more by Jolie Moore.

Book Title: Taming the Bad Boy
Author: Jolie Moore
Pub Date: April 30, 2019

***ARC was provided to me by Net Galley and the Publisher for a fair and honest review***

Overall rating: 0/5 This book needs a trigger warning, Rafael rapes two women by the end of the story.

Heroine (Bronwen ‘Daisy’ Fletcher): 1/5 Daisy seems like an upstanding East Coast baby living in LA but runs several ‘adult viewing’ sites in her off hours. She’s a white girl with a Korean guy fetish.

Hero (Rafael ‘Rafe’ Augustine): 0/5 He’s misogynistic and a rapist. Also he works as a comedian and was at one point a stripper.

Plot: 1/5 Daisy meets Rafael at a gay bar, so she assumes he’s gay. He does a strip tease show at the bar at the request of the bachelor party he’s with. Daisy ends up with his shirt and when she returns it she is confused why a gay man kissed her. Rafael then seduces a very new 18 year old at the wedding of his friend and ends up with a statutory rape charge. As he’s getting arrested Daisy’s only thought is ‘he’s not gay’. After acquitted, Daisy invites him over and Rafael oversteps and makes assumptions because of her line of work. He unintentionally rapes Daisy. She stops talking to him, gets a new job on a tv network as a script supervisor. Rafael is on one of the comedy shows she is responsible for. Will she let him back into her life?

Personal Review: Rafael escapes a statutory rape charge by a day, the girl turned 18 that morning. Yes she lied about her age and claimed to be 21 but that’s the least problematic part of this book. He then rapes Daisy and the reader has to live it through her eyes. All the confused and mixed emotions, she liked him but everything was moving too fast and was just too much for her. While she did not say ‘no’ she was throwing off clear signs that she was uncomfortable with what was happening. Then when Daisy doesn’t text him back (because she was processing the rape) he hooks up with a girl from Twitter. She also never says ‘no’ and this time you read it from Rafael’s perspective. It is no less horrifying to read his justifications for continuing.

Honestly the rest of the story doesn’t matter, you cannot justify an actual rapist to be the hero of a romance story and get the girl in the end. She did not ‘tame a bad boy’ she allowed her rapist to start a relationship with her.

Yes I did read the whole book and no I did not like any of it. Setting the rapes aside neither character is particularly likable and they do not have any chemistry together. This story could have been a fun mixed race couple story that started at a gay bar and followed them through the comedy competition show. Daisy didn’t have to run any ‘adult film’ sites and could have just worked at the tv network. Rafael could have still been a player but he didn’t need to have multiple rape charges brought against him. I honestly went into this book expecting to love it.

I really enjoyed the characters in this story and I liked getting to know them.

I liked the author's writing style and she had a lovely way of describing things to bring the story to life too and making the characters genuine.

I thought personally that there was too much background being told and it spoilt the storyline as stopped the natural flow of the story. This is my only minor issue with the book though and it is still four stars from me for this one as overall I really enjoyed it!

I had a hard time finishing this book. I look for characters that I can either relate with or that I grow an attachment to like friends. I did not like either of these characters for the first 60% of the book. Even after that, I was not terribly interested in their ending.

I will say though that this book touches on a topic I think more people need to acknowledge, pornography. I think the author did a wonderful job in expressing the negative affects it can have on people individually and in relationships. It isn't a topic that is discussed nearly enough.

I would have liked to see something that endeared me to either of the characters before the end of the book. Raphael was not a male lead that remotely held my interest for any reason, even after Daisy explained to him why he wasn't worth her time.

Overall, it was a difficult read for me personally because of the way that I like to connect to characters and storylines.

I really tried to like this book but just couldn't finish it -- didn't like the male character at all and I couldn't connect with the female character either.

DNF
Daisy’s best friend was Nariand they were going to a gay bar . Daisy wanted to put her finger on gay mens tastes. Daisy had seen the worst of men in her profession and didn’t want one in her life. Taylor was daisy’s second best friend. Nari could get in any place in LA and that’s why Daisy had brought her. At the gay bar a couple of men asked if they could share their booth and Daisy said sure and ended up talking to Rafe too bad he was gay. Daisy ended up with rafe’s short as did a strip dance at his friend’s request. Rafe was not a daytime person , he could have been a vampire in another life. Rafe was a comedian and not gay. Daisy worked in the porn industry selling boobs and butt. But that had slowed down to. Nari’s parents bought her a condo that had a second bedroom and she invited daisy to move in. Her parents loved it as daisy gave off the chaperone vibe. Nari and daisy had went to a party and the host said he had bought this place working in the porn industry and Daisy soon became a self supporting adult. Daisy took Rafe’s shirt back to him and he took her out to breakfast. Than he offered to walk her to her car and she said ok but instead they went to his apartment. Rafe noticed she wore a light floral scent that lit up his insides. Rafe’s brother was gay bot Rafe. Daisy loved nari but she often carelessly brushed off her feelings calling her a fag hag knowing daisy really liked Rafe. When Rafe Daisy had a tingle go down her spine and a quiver in her belly. She hadn’t had sex in a long time. Even though Daisy couldn’t have Rafe, she wanted to be near him. He invited her to come to see him do his art and she went. Than Rafe’s brother Gabe came and asked her if the seats next to her were taken. Daisy thought Rafe was very funny. Than Daisy learned Rafe wasn’t gay when he got arrested. Rafe was sure he hadn't had sex with an underage girl, he usually stuck with waitresses and bar flies.
I couldn’t get into this book. It didn’t hold my attention and I tried a couple of times to restart reading it again and same thing no interest no connection. I am sure there are others that will love this book but this just wasn’t for me.

Before I get to the negatives, I want to say how much I love the diversity and the mentions of the LGBTQ community in “Taming The Bad Boy” by Jolie Moore. It was a breath of fresh air and it definitely added a different element to there series. Beside that, there wasn't anything else pulling me to the story. I was just bored with the read and the lame characters. I'm pretty sure the only entertaining one was Nari. Sadly I have decided to drop this series despite the appreciation I hold for the author providing me an ARC.

The male character (Raphael) was not someone I was able to like. While the author tried to redeem him as the story progressed, he was just a general jerk who never grew on me. The main female character (Daisy) was also an unlikeable character. I kept reading hoping I would get to a point where my opinion would change, but their charcters seemed to have lacked chemistry.

I just couldn't get into this book. I kept reading thinking that it would get better but the characters are unlikable and storyline bizarre. Maybe others would enjoy it but I didn't.

I had to DNF at the third chapter. Not for me. First, I don't like NA-ish contemporaries, 2) the writing descriptions are ridiculous, and 3) I'm a heroine centric reader and disliked the hero's point of view (it just seemed off-putting).

This is Daisy and Raphael book, Daisy is basically a director for porn lol and Raphael is a comedian. Uuuummm I have no idea what I just read, this book was just really out there Daisy directs a porno at her best friends apartment without her friend knowing and Raphael sleeps with a minor of course the girl said she was 21 but then he gets arrested for it?! The description of this book was basically what happened in the very beginning and lasted about one page?!! It was very misleading?! I don’t know it was just a really really weird awkward book that’s about all I can say about it LOLThank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me sort of LOL

This book is straight up awful! I can’t really believe it is going to be published that’s how atrocious the writing is. The first chapter we have no idea who the main character is in this story or what the characters are even doing. She is going to a gay bar but we never really know why and the random guys they meet are just odd. By chapter two I wanted to throw my phone against the wall, the random sex with the waitress at the wedding and all of the stupidness in that chapter. By chapter three I was hoping they would at least have some type of meet cute but not happen in this storyline. There was nothing original and then he can’t keep it in his pants problem. One would think after the first charge of rape one would learn to zip it up for a while, but not this guy. No, he is totally disappointing by the choices he continues to make throughout this story. There is nothing about taming the bad boy, he is not bad his is awful. This book needs a whole lot of work and maybe an original idea!
