Description

From up here on stage, I can see her. Even with her First Lady hair and Sunday school shoes, I can’t take my eyes off of her.

The music starts. I swing my hips to the thumping bass. Oh, so slowly I slip one button through a hole, then another, then another.I ease the black silk from my shoulders and toss it right toward her.

I watch her pale glossy lips form a big ‘O’ before she catches it like a major league baller. The flashing lights blind me. Between beats, I can see her blue eyes zeroed in below my waist.

I know what she wants. I give it to her. With a zip and a tug, the leather pants join the rest of my clothes. In my skin tight briefs, I dance just for her. With the last chord of the song, the stage goes dark.

I know when the lights come up again, another guy will be dancing in my place because this is my last time. I’m not doing this ever again. It’s too bad I didn’t get her name. I really liked that shirt. But not enough to go back and claim it.

If she wants me bad enough, she’ll have to find me.

From up here on stage, I can see her. Even with her First Lady hair and Sunday school shoes, I can’t take my eyes off of her.

The music starts. I swing my hips to the thumping bass. Oh, so...

A whole new twist to love at first sight, she thinks he's hot, but GAY. Never assume that what you think you see is actually what you have. Many twists and turns lead from misconceptions to Miss Right. —Emily B, Goodreads

An unconventional heroine and a most unlikely hero. Both of them have many flaws and don't fall in love instantly like most romance characters. After reading too many romance novels with the same plots and stereotypes, I find this novel really refreshing —Roxana, a reader

I don't really know what I was expecting for this book but I wasn't really that much of a fan. I thought it would be a cool little read and it entertained me but there were just too many prejudices. I know the book talks about subjects which are controversial but I think that the author was trying too much. The timelines were bizarre, sometimes every day in a week was detailed and other times a whole week or month went by ... I don't really know what specifically didn't cut it for me in the book, i enjoyed the writing style but i think that Daisy was very naive and Raphael was a bit of a hot head... I hope I'll prefer some other of this authors books but it wasn't for me, sorry !

4 STARS for Taming The Bad Boy by Jolie Moore

ARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own & have not been influenced in any way.

Rafe ( IE Rafael ) definitely is a very BAD BOY !! He does not do relationships strictly hookups & a few that have certainly gotten him into BIG trouble. Daisy is a really interesting character on the outside we know she is an Ivy League graduate but it is somewhat shocking to find out what her career is. ( if you could call it that )

Daisy & Rafael meet at a gay bar - the attraction on Daisy’s part is immediate but of course she thinks Rafael is gay. Rafael feels the same way about DaIsy but things really seem to get off on the wrong foot for them both ....

This story is a different read for me - the only reason I did not rate it 5 STARS is that I wanted both characters to clear up their issues & get together sooner.

Jolie Moore is a very talented author writing with lots of humor & this particular book ( my first by the author ) has a very unique story line. I’ve added Jolie to my TBR author list as well !!

There is a HEA but it does take a bit for Daisy & Rafael to get there ...

Enjoyed this book & loved these (2) characters. !!!

Sexy romance. Super steamy. Full of all the things your mama warned you about. If you like disobeying your mama, then read this one and stay up all night long.

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley!!

The blurb was interesting.... spicy enough to intrigue you and draw you in, but vague enough to not tell too much.
The cover was sexy in it's own as well.

The book was a quick easy sexy read for me.

i'd read more by Jolie Moore.

I really enjoyed the characters in this story and I liked getting to know them.

I liked the author's writing style and she had a lovely way of describing things to bring the story to life too and making the characters genuine.

I thought personally that there was too much background being told and it spoilt the storyline as stopped the natural flow of the story. This is my only minor issue with the book though and it is still four stars from me for this one as overall I really enjoyed it!

I had a hard time finishing this book. I look for characters that I can either relate with or that I grow an attachment to like friends. I did not like either of these characters for the first 60% of the book. Even after that, I was not terribly interested in their ending.

I will say though that this book touches on a topic I think more people need to acknowledge, pornography. I think the author did a wonderful job in expressing the negative affects it can have on people individually and in relationships. It isn't a topic that is discussed nearly enough.

I would have liked to see something that endeared me to either of the characters before the end of the book. Raphael was not a male lead that remotely held my interest for any reason, even after Daisy explained to him why he wasn't worth her time.

Overall, it was a difficult read for me personally because of the way that I like to connect to characters and storylines.

DNF
Daisy’s best friend was Nariand they were going to a gay bar . Daisy wanted to put her finger on gay mens tastes. Daisy had seen the worst of men in her profession and didn’t want one in her life. Taylor was daisy’s second best friend. Nari could get in any place in LA and that’s why Daisy had brought her. At the gay bar a couple of men asked if they could share their booth and Daisy said sure and ended up talking to Rafe too bad he was gay. Daisy ended up with rafe’s short as did a strip dance at his friend’s request. Rafe was not a daytime person , he could have been a vampire in another life. Rafe was a comedian and not gay. Daisy worked in the porn industry selling boobs and butt. But that had slowed down to. Nari’s parents bought her a condo that had a second bedroom and she invited daisy to move in. Her parents loved it as daisy gave off the chaperone vibe. Nari and daisy had went to a party and the host said he had bought this place working in the porn industry and Daisy soon became a self supporting adult. Daisy took Rafe’s shirt back to him and he took her out to breakfast. Than he offered to walk her to her car and she said ok but instead they went to his apartment. Rafe noticed she wore a light floral scent that lit up his insides. Rafe’s brother was gay bot Rafe. Daisy loved nari but she often carelessly brushed off her feelings calling her a fag hag knowing daisy really liked Rafe. When Rafe Daisy had a tingle go down her spine and a quiver in her belly. She hadn’t had sex in a long time. Even though Daisy couldn’t have Rafe, she wanted to be near him. He invited her to come to see him do his art and she went. Than Rafe’s brother Gabe came and asked her if the seats next to her were taken. Daisy thought Rafe was very funny. Than Daisy learned Rafe wasn’t gay when he got arrested. Rafe was sure he hadn't had sex with an underage girl, he usually stuck with waitresses and bar flies.
I couldn’t get into this book. It didn’t hold my attention and I tried a couple of times to restart reading it again and same thing no interest no connection. I am sure there are others that will love this book but this just wasn’t for me.
