I received a free advanced copy of this book from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

The first time author, Gunnar Dahl, saw talented jewelry artist, Ase Halvorsen, he was mesmerized not only by her beauty and talent but also her kindness and patience to his young niece, as she picked out a birthday present for his sister. So intrigued that he went back to see her after the art show closing, and witnessed her being robbed and assaulted. He stepped in to help immediately, calling 911, and after speaking to the police, going to the hospital where he finds that she is all alone, having lost her parents in a plane accident and estranged from her brother. He pretends to be her fiancee and since she is injured and shouldn't be alone, he takes her home to his mansion. As she heals and they spend so much time together (and this being a romance), they fall in love. But someone tries to break into Ase's house, so she is still in danger. Several suspects make this a mystery. While the mundane parts of their lives are good for the characters, too many chapters about them, made the story drag for the reader and then the end is over the top. All in all though, nice character development and a gripping plot.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed Gunner and Ase's story. I kind of thought the way the story stared was weird but as it progressed I really enjoyed it. The story line really sucks you in and puts you on edge. Also the adult content is there, tasteful and well written. Good read. I know have to go back and read the past books some of the characters make cameos in this story.

I really enjoyed this quirky story as two scandi’s get to know each other against a scary background which helps bring them together. Definitely different

Ariella Talix loves her sexy scenes. This book was hard for me to get into because of all the sexy. But if you love the smut then this chick is for your reason pleasure.

Once again this author has given us a suspenseful story filled with interesting and complex characters. This is a great start to what looks like it will be another compelling series. I look forward to the next installment.

All of her books are related, but each stands alone without a cliffhanger. I loved reading about the characters we got to know in her first series. It's fun to see what they're up to in this one, even though they take a back seat.

It was interesting to delve more into the art world in a different way from her previous book, The Designer. She also got into the mindset of a writer in this one, so that was fun.

The story that evolved was full of suspense and, I really enjoyed it! The relationship between the h and H is heartwarming. Lots of "feels" in this book, for sure!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC given in exchange for my review.

For the first time in a very long time I didn't finish a book. I tried...and got 1/2 way through and just didn't continue. Much to much boring details given, to the point that I expected to be told he/she brushed their hair. Also, so much repetition that I sometimes felt I was reading something twice.

This was first experience reading this author's work and while I found some parts of this book quite enjoyable, for the most part, I had to force myself to pick it up and finish reading it. I was really excited to read a new author and the blurb sounded quite interesting and the book started out really well, but I just couldn't connect with these characters -- and I really tried because I liked the premise of the plot and the storyline. The beginning was quite good, the middle seemed to drag for me and then it picked up a bit toward the end. If you're looking for something new, please don't use my review as a reason not to give this a chance -- it might have just been me! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
