When I started reading this story I was surprised that I found a story that has a different plot than what I have normally been reading.
This one centers around twins, Lindsay and Lena. Lena not showing up for her parents anniversary party her twin becomes extremely upset and goes looking for her. She goes to her home and finds it in total disarray. She then gets a mysterious text from her to go find a person from their past.
She meets Jace and his friends, a group of hackers who work together. Jace and Lindsay went to the same college and while he never met her he did know Lena and their parting was definitely not on good terms.
At first Jace thinks it's Lena and he is very horrendous to Linday, when he finds out who she really they join together to find her sister.
The only thing I would of like to see was maybe a bit more about the hacking world. While this one does not end on a cliffhanger, it is certain going to have a continuation.

Wow! This is quick the action packed hacked mystery/thriller romance. The hero, Jace, is an air force veteran who got expelled from MIT for hacking into the UMASS registrar and changing some students’ grades. One of said students is the twin to a girl who’s had a crush on him since they shared a class at MIT together.

There are lots of threads and at least a covert thing or two going on. Ma. Lynn does an amazing job of laying out a multi-faceted plot in a way that clear and interconnected. It’s pretty ingenious really and the story isn’t over. The story delivers a gratifying HEA. However, this feels like a multi-book series that has at least one connected plot that will run through the books. Not sure how much we’ll see if this H and h in subsequent books, but my guess is it will be more than a few cameos.

I think getting to the bottom of everything is going to be one wild ride, and I can wait for it to continue.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am now and have always been a HUGE Cherrie Lynn fan. She has a way of writing that makes me feel like she is talking to me. I really really enjoyed Deadlock and am looking so forward to the books to come in this series.
Jace Adams, has been burned and when the woman who burned him shows up at his door asking for help, he is stunned. Little does he know it is NOT Lena Morris, but her twin Lindsey. With only a cryptic text leading her to Jace, Lindsey is astonished when he is so brutal with her. Has the past come back to haunt him or can Jase trust what Lindsey is telling him?
This story has all the good stuff... mystery, suspense and romance. I had no idea where this was going to lead, the story just kept unfolding and leading me down a different path. Lindsey is hell bent on finding her sister and that means even if Jase is unwilling to help her. Lena, is leading a life that no one in her family or even her twin know about. Everyone thinks she is just flighty and living by the seat of her pants, but it is so much more than that. Now that Lindsey is thrown into this suddenly Lena, is about to be revealed. Jase, is really torn about helping because of the bad blood between him and Lena from years ago , but he just can't seem to walk away from Lindsey.
The promise of more books in this series has me giddy and wanting to get my hands on them.
BRAVO on an amazing new series and I am TOTALLY here for the rest of them .

when lindsay morris's twin sister goes missing in deadlock, at first she thinks it's just lena being lena. flighty and irresponsible. but a mysterious text finds lindsay reconnecting with a figure from their past, someone lena wronged and who lindsay always felt something for.

jace has plenty of reasons to hold a grudge, but when lena's disappearance appears to wrap into a larger mystery that jace is in the midst of investigating, lindsay finds herself in the middle. neither of them fully trusts the other, but the intense chemistry between them is too hard to ignore. and as the fallout of everything that is happening becomes clear, this is set to spin off to a larger mystery.

Having been a fan of this author for some time but not read any of her recent books, I was excited to be able to read this one. Military plus hacker.... equals a unique and one of a kind story. I enjoyed the moments in this book and found myself wrapped into the world that Lynn created. Not gonna lie though, I really wanted more out of that ending but overall a great story!

Meh...

Cherrie Lynn is a decent writer but I struggled to finish this book. The plot is very thin--Where's Lena?--and serves to get her look alike twin Lindsey and hacker extraordinaire Jace together but then recedes into insignificance as they do amazingly little to find her. So the book rests on the interplay of Lindsey and Jace but these two are such boring characters that I lost interest in them. Jace vacilliates between lust and hostility toward Lindsey whose sister had betrayed him and got him thrown out of MIT while Lindsey, a brilliant coder, remains diffident and always in lust with Jace even when he's emotionally abusive. Towards the end of the book Lindsey becomes TSTL. She determines to take solo action to save her twin and to prove herself to the distrustful Jace though she acknowledges she may die in the attempt. Sure, get yourself killed--that will show him! This is not a hero/heroine pair I can believe in, much less root for. Sorry.

I received a free advance copy from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Deadlock was a fun and exciting love story that pulled me in instantly upon the first few pages of the story and in meeting the heroine. With a well-written pace, the action and connection between the two leads only kept the pages turning faster as their antagonistic relationship evolved into something more. It was an easily devourable read with substance.

There was a good balance between story progression and moving the love story forward while still keeping the tension thick as things unfolded. Lynn’s ever-present skill of creating great characters with depth was in full force and I fully enjoyed their journey in falling for one another. I adored the unique mix of romantic suspense and the hacker characters and how easily believable it was that Lindsey and Jace fit those roles. I wanted a bit more depth between the sisters to further that anxiety of finding her, but aside from that it was a good start to a series I can’t wait to read more of.

ARC received for review

Great story with lots of angst and adventure and lots of other hackers to get stories (Sully, what crawled up your arse?). Then the ending sucked. It was more like a happily even after for now or maybe not. Plus the epilogue ... what the feathers?

DEADLOCK draws the reader in quite intensely from the start and that edge of the seat reading feeling doesn’t leave any time soon. There is world building, there has to be to some extent, and we get not only the extreme hatred that Jace has for Lena but his confusion and disbelief at discovering the woman that he’s hated for years has an identical twin sister. That mistrust runs to his team as well and Lindsey won’t have an easy time winning any friends as she sets out to find or rescue her sister from whatever trouble she’s found herself in this time.

This story is full of tech terms and loads of geek references, and those made me smile throughout. Lindsey and Jace have more in common than her troublesome sister but getting them to admit that fact takes a bit of time. I enjoyed DEADLOCK, the action is fast-paced, the steamy moments believable, and the trouble that surrounds them all is very real. There seems to be a thread running through this story that will continue in the series. That’s not unusual for a series, what I don’t like is the cliffhanger feel to the ending. But, that’s me, I strongly dislike cliffhangers and won’t pick up a book if I know ahead of time that’s how it ends. Lead me to the next story but finish what I’m reading now. Aside from the loose ends that lead to the next book I enjoyed my time in Hacker World and would continue the series.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

WOW! This is the first book that I have read from Cherrie Lynn and I am now a fan. This is a second chance, suspenseful romance, action packed page turner. I received a free ARC from NetGalley.com and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Lindsey and Lena might be identical twins, but their personalities are exact opposites. Lena was always getting them into trouble when they're growing up and as an adult she hasn't change. When Lena does another disappearing act, missing their parents 40th wedding anniversary, Lindsey is so angry that she ignores her sister's text. But when, she goes to Lena's apartment to look for her, she finds the apartment had been ransacked. Following the instructions on the text, leads her to the door of her college crush, Jace Adams, a man whose life Lena had destroyed. He didn't know that Lena had a twin and at first doesn't believe her. But Jace is now part of a secret government "ethical" hacker organization and a case that his group is working on intertwines with Lena's possible disappearance. Lindsey is a loner and a skilled coder and while his group doesn't trust her, they agree to help find her sister. Jace has a hard time reconciling his hatred for Lena as he is drawn to Lindsey. Lots of twists and turns that keep the reader engaged until the very end, eager to rad the next book in the series.

Other enjoyable read by Cherrie Lynn

I really liked this and give it a 4.5 outta 5 stars. It is definitely a romantic suspense with a huge question mark on who you can trust and what in the freaking world is going on. I won't go into to much details, but this book leaves you wanting more and to figure out what the freak is going to happen next.

Lindsey gets a message from her flighty twin that some stuff went down and to go visit an address. What she does not expect is to be sent to the guy that freaking hates her twin, why in the world would he help her? Guess what guys, it gets even freaking crazier after this!

I highly recommend checking this out. The book kept me guessing, gave me some fun kicks, had some super crazy sexual tension (and delivered on it), had a solid build up, and I liked the way everything came to be in the end. Just know it is freaking insane!

All in all, I really liked it and even though I received an ARC for it, this is my honest review.

Wow! What an enjoyable, edge of your seat, intriguing ride! I'm ashamed to say that I've never read this author's work before, but I will be reading more from her in the future -- for sure! What an excellent romantic suspense--Jace and Lindsey were captivating from the getgo. They were well developed characters with quite a bit of depth. Then add in the secondary characters who were just as fascinating and the plot that kept me up at night, and I say this is a winner and I can't wait for more! This storyline moves and keeps your interest throughout. I would say Jace and Lindsey get their HEA "for now", but it's obvious that there's more to come. I would say it doesn't end on a true cliffhanger, but it certainly makes you want to see what this author has in store for us in the next book in this series. And I, for one, can't wait! Excellent romantic suspense - 5+ stars! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have enjoyed the other books I have read from this author, so I was intrigued by the description of this first book in a new series. A betrayal that shaped an individual's future, a grudge still held, and twins who are polar opposites... bring it on!

Jace had a bright future ahead of him, but Lena's manipulations resulted in his expulsion from MIT and eventual introduction to the Nest, a shadowy government hacker team made up of criminals with technological talents. After a childhood better left forgotten, the loss of his hopes and dreams for the future still rankles so Jace is less than inviting when Lena shows up on his doorstep asking for her help... except it's really her twin sister Lindsay.

Where Lena is all mean girl seductress with an agenda, Lindsay is the timid girl next door mixed with doe-eyed innocence - most of the time. Just don't question her devotion to gaming, especially The Legend of Zelda, or it's on! Yes she is also a hacker and self-described gaming geek. Lena's disappearance doesn't exactly surprise her, but when she follows Lena's cryptic message for help, Lindsay is downright stunned when her college crush opens the door. Lindsay always wondered if her sister chose Jace to mess with because of Lindsay's interest, but given that Jace didn't know Lindsay existed, Lena's motivation is still a mystery to everyone but her.

Suspicion and mistrust are the order of the day for most of this book. It is very difficult for Jace to separate Lindsay from Lena at first, and he has a tendency to be abrupt, blunt and rude as he questions her motivations at every turn. Lindsay knows his attitude is a direct result of her sister's actions, but she cannot seem to prove to him that she is not her sister- and it is particularly hurtful given that she can't seem to stop noticing how much sexier he has become over the years.

There is suspense and intrigue as they try to figure out where Lena is and who is behind her disappearance, and Jace's team is brought into the loop to help. As much as I wanted to love this story, I found it difficult to connect with the characters and didn't really feel much of anything between Jace and Lindsay most of the time. Based on the ending, it seems like we will see more of Jace in the future although I am not sure if it will just be through an overarching plot across books featuring the other team members or if he and Lindsay will receive another book.

Cherrie Lynn moves from the world of Rock and Roll to the world of Hackers with Deadlock. At first I assumed this was a second chance at love story, but it soon turned into a more interesting romance between the first love's twin and our hero. The story suffers a little from being the first in the series. The balance of the book is tipped more towards setting the series scenes and introducing the other players. That imblance made the romance seem a little lacking. The story was entertaining, its a sexy, fun read. Based on this series introduction, Im on board!
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

I was intrigued by the hacker theme of the story/series and it delivered!

Damn … this story had me hooked from the start. I loved the twin circumstance because it was unique, and it fit this story perfectly! The suspense, with all its twists and surprises, kept me glued to this story from beginning to end. Honestly, I just wanted it to keep going forever! The sparks between Jace and Lindsey were there from the very start.

This is a story/series where one book will lead into another. Now that might just be me and my interpretation of what I just read, but I’m pretty sure I’m right on that count. The HEA wasn’t as solid as I would have hoped, but there is no doubt in my mind that Jace and Lindsey will ride into the sunset together LOL I’m really looking forward to more from this hacker team! I think all of their stories will be just the right kind of suspenseful I enjoy!

Lindsey comes seeking help and has to work very hard to earn their trust. As she and Jace try to keep their hands off each other things spiral out of control. It sets the stage for the rest of the series which is sure to be brilliant.
