Description

Discover New York Times bestselling author Cherrie Lynn’s Deadlock, featuring a team of elite military hackers who will do whatever it takes to protect their country and the women who enter their dark and dangerous world.

Ex–Air Force hacker Jace Adams is the best at what he does. There isn’t a system he can’t infiltrate or a country his team can’t topple. But when he finds Lena Morris, the woman he hates most in the world, on his doorstep, the last thing he wants to do is help her. Or is it really Lena?

Lindsey Morris can’t believe her twin sister, Lena, is missing, with only a cryptic text to find the man Lena once betrayed. But as easy as Jace is to look at, getting him to agree to help her find her sister is a lot harder. He refuses to put his team at risk, until they find out the enemy they’re facing may be one they have in common…

As Lindsey and Jace race against the clock to save her sister, their shaky truce begins to morph into a fire they can't control. But their lack of trust might be exactly what gets them killed.

Wow! This novel grabbed me from the very first page and kept me hooked until the very last page. I loved the Jace - he's the perfect brooding and reluctant hero. Lindsey and Lena are interesting characters - I loved the twist that identical twins added to the story. Lindsey is a kind and gentle soul that is dragged into a situation she doesn't understand when her sister, Lena, went missing. When Lindsey starts following the clues Lena left, she encounters Jace and their reluctant partnership begins. What follows is a quickly moving tale that is tightly woven and kept me turning pages just as quickly as possible. Additionally, I loved the romantic energy between Jace and Lindsey.

If you enjoy romantic suspense, you will love this book. While it's the first book I've read by this author, it won't be the last. I'm adding her to my must read authors' list and am already looking forward to the next book in the series. (This is a stand alone novel.)

Jace is ex Air Force but is a military hacker. He and his group can hack into anything. Lindsey has a twin who has been flighty and undependable. When she goes missing and Lindsey gets a text to go to this address and ask for help. When she rings the doorbell, Jace opens the door. Jace is furious to see the one woman who totally destroyed his life. He wants nothing to do with her until Lindsey explains she her twin, Jace still thinks they are trying to set him up for something. The more he digs, the more he finds out about Lindsey and Lena. Will Jace realize Lindsey is nothing like Lena but will it be too late once she’s taken too?
Awesome story. Not the usually by this author but I really enjoyed it. Action, lies, secrets, and sex. A guy who trusts no one but his team and a woman who gets in over her head. A cliffhanger.

Very intriguing- action packed- loved the writing!

Deadlock is definitely 5 stars! A very drama filled story with danger and suspense with a "who do you trust" theme that makes the book a thrilling read. Lindsey Morris is a strong and independent woman rather she has ever exercised that part of herself or not. Having a completely out there, wild and free twin, Lindsey hasn't had much need to be as brazen as she needs to be once confronted with a slew of problems to face after her twin, Lena goes missing.

Jace is a book boyfriend that is hot, sexy, yet dangerous and smart. While his body tells him to trust Lindsey, his mind and past warn him away.

Danger and violence brings these two together and the story was amazing.

Highly recommend and CANNOT wait for the next book in this series.

Lindsey and her twin Lena are identical twins but polar opposites in character. Lindsey is rather shy, wholesome and an introvert, Lena is vampy; sly & wily. The only children of parents who had them late in life, while they have a strong bond, Lena’s callous attitude leaves Lindsey more often not fed up with her sister’s seemingly insouciance.

When her sister disappears and leaves her a cryptic text to “goto this address and ask him for help” Lindsey finds the man who was her crush (from afar – she’s the shy one remember?) while at University – a man whom Lena tricked and betrayed leading to his expulsion from MIT.

Instead of facing prison time, Jace’s hacker skills (Lena tricks him into using said skills to hack into the university system to change her D grade to a passing one) lands him into being recruited into a highly covert team of super sleuths (all misfits) who use their computer/tech skills to test out how vulnerable Government systems are (what a job!).

This was an amazing story. I adore smart/talented characters and Jace and Lindsey are both stellar in that sense. Lindsey is a coder extraordinaire herself and a real geek. That she was a perfect complement to Jace had him thinking that it was all an elaborate trap – he’d never met anyone before whose hobbies & likes (gaming!) fitted so perfectly with his. Initially suspicious of Lindsey, her wholesomeness soon has him torn between believing her and paranoia.

Jace’s “team” – his comrades in arms – are wonderful side characters who lend loads of wit and human emotion to the story. Humour, characters you just fall in love with, fantastic romance and suspense. This book has it all.

Highly recommended.

"It didn't help matters that his T-shirt could scarcely contain his muscles, and the way his jeans hugged his hard thighs made her mouth water."

I've been a Cherrie Lynn fan for years so it was a no-brainer that I would follow her on this new journey. I'm kind of a geek myself so a sexy hacker is right up my alley and I couldn't wait to get my hands on Jace...I mean Deadlock ...well, both. 😉

I found the idea of Jace being faced with twins to be irresistible, especially if he hated the one and lusted after the other. It was very exciting as I waited for him to realize there were two of them. I knew he would fight his attraction to her just on principle, and I knew he would lose the battle, the wait was delicious.

Lindsey is the quiet one. She's a loner and likes it that way. If it wasn't for her fear for her sister's life she would never have ventured out and asked Jace for help. She knew what her sister had done to him, so Lindsey getting him to even listen to her would be her biggest challenge. It would be no surprise to him that her sister had gotten herself in trouble, again, that seemed to be a theme in her life. But, what neither he, nor I, expected was what she did to get him to hear her out. That's when things got really exciting!

I devoured this story from cover to cover. It had everything I dig in a romantic suspense novel. #Action #BadassTeam #Enemies2Lovers #GeekSpeak #KindleThrowing #Passion #Secrets #SexyTime #Surprises and best of all...more to come. The author teased me at the end with a glimpse of what I had to look forward to in the next Hacker World installment and I can't wait! The line forms here...

Deadlock by Cherrie Lynn a four-star read that will re-write what you think. This is the first novel in the Hacker World series, and I want number two like right now, that epilogue made the whole read, what comes next. Jace Adams and his team are intense, and they will make you think about if what you know is really what you know. Lindsay and Lena have a very complex relationship and it took me while to figure them out, and I still don’t know if I am truly sure of what I think is right. This is a complex and twisted story, filled with intrigue and passion. This is a great story and I can’t wait to read more from this author.
