At oftentimes this was funny. A twin who goes and sees a mystery man, who thinks she is her sister. Yeah, epic. Unfortunately, she there cause her twin is missing and Lindsey needs Jace’s help. Which he reluctantly gives. Now let the roller coaster began. In finding Lena, their lives become could be in trouble. If you like suspense along with romance, this book is for you.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. I could not put this book down. The storyline will keep you intrigued and guessing all the way through. One twins betrayal and the other twins loved lost or is it? Can Jace look past the deception of one to fall in love with the other? You have to read it to find out!

This was really good! A great plot with steady pacing and a hot romance to spice things up.

Lindsey and Lena are identical twins - and polar opposites. Lena royally screwed over Lindsey's college crush. So years later, when Lena goes missing and her last text sends Lindsey to Jace's front door it isn't just sparks that fly, it's more like a volcano erupted.

Jace is now part of a special ops team. A select group of highly qualified hackers. It turns out that Lindsey is also a coder and her and Jace have quite a bit in common. After a case of mistaken identity - because identical twins - Lindsey convinces Jace and his team to help find her missing sister.

The story is full of surprises and pulse pounding reveals. It never lets you get comfortable so plan on occupying the edge of your seat for the duration.

I love fully developed plots that include romance between two characters. That is exactly what this story delivers.

Very well done!

I could hardly wait for Cherrie Lynn's new book - and I wasn't disappointed.
Dead Lock is the start of a new series about elite hackers doing their work in secret to protect the country.

This book is about Lindsey who is confronted with her twin sister disappearing. The last sign of life is a message that she should seek Jace's help.

I don't want to anticipate the plot - especially after the end of the book suggests that by no means are all the strings untangled.

The book offers it all: interesting characters are introduced, which will surely all get their own story. It was so exciting that I read it within a day.

I can't wait for the next book to appear and where the story is heading.

This is definitely a book worthy of the highest ratings.

3.5 stars. This review may contain what some would consider spoilers. Read on at your own risk. This is the first book I've read by Cherrie Lynn, and I was excited to have the opportunity to do so because I love romantic suspense, and I love bad-ass hackers. ;-) And I gobbled this up until about three-quarters in, at which point I became royally frustrated with Doormat Lindsey. I wanted so badly for her to do a better job of standing up for herself, and later, after everything played out, she just forgave way too easily. The appeal (to me) of the romantic angst in a book is that it provides the opportunity to see exactly how strong (or weak) the characters are; their reaction is EVERYTHING. In this case, I felt completely let down. I hated the sneaky way Lindsey left. I wanted outrage on her part, and then I dang sure wanted groveling on Jace's part. Instead, the outrage was on my part. And I hate that, because all the other parts of this book appealed to me on so many levels. With that being said, I still recommend this book because I enjoyed every other part so much, and I would like to keep reading the series.

I am sorry but I will not be reviewing this book. I am usually a Cherrie Lynn fan but this book just did not work for me. It got so involved in the world building that I struggled with the relationship development and felt disconnected from the characters. I did not feel any chemistry between them. The plot was a bit over the top for me, and the one thing I really wanted to understand was left as a teaser at the end of the book for the next one, so it did not even get resolved. I understand it will be a series and there can be an ongoing story arc and villain, but it would have been nice to at least resolve this hero's story line that set the stage for the whole plot of the book.. It may have just been my mood or attention span, but for whatever reason it did not work for me. I just do not have anything to say positively about it and do not want to leave a negative review for this author.

Intrigue, suspense, steamy sex all rolled into one exciting story. Cherrie's mastered the art of immersing the reader in the story. We'll done!

Slow starter. Story picked up about a fourth of the way in. Intrigue, angst and a little mayhem follow. There is romance buried amongst the anger, blame, mistrust and tribulations. Over the top, but not a bad read.

Deadlock is a romantic suspense novel so be prepared for some steamy action between our main characters.
The novel had great character development and the story had good flow and was well written.
I found this book hard to put down.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of Deadlock-I really enjoyed it!!!

Received as an ARC copy. This is the first book of Cherrie Lynn’s that I’ve read and I loved it. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. This story of Jace and Lindsay had everything the fight, love and chemistry. I cried and laughed. I want to know about Lena and her story.

From cover to cover I was intrigued, for nothing was quite what it seemed. This is a romantic suspense that kept me questioning things and people the entire story. In fact the very last scene left me with even more questions then I had over the initial college flashback! Great world building and interesting premise of this hacker unit.

When I finished the book I immediately started looking to see if there was anything available for the next release date and whose story it would focus on..I am torn if I immediately want more on Helix or Lena. I am not ready for more on Sully because I was a little thrown by how much attitude one character conveyed 🙈 I think/hope to read more about Helix though because his character was fun and sweet and obviously troubled. Also I wonder which route Jace and Lindsey’s story will take in this series after the ending and open nature of the debrief! Overall this is a fun read and start to what seems like a fun and fascinating series.

Thank you NetGalley, Entangled: Amara, and Cherrie Lynn for the chance to read this book and share my opinion!

I have been a fan of Cherrie Lynn’s books for some time now. I was so excited to see she was branching out into the romantic suspense genre.

I really enjoyed the complexity of this story and the suspense that she built up throughout the whole book, even into the epilogue. I am anxious to see where she takes the rest of this series.

I don’t know if I would call this a cliff hanger ending, Jace and Lindsey’s story is pretty much wrapped up, but with the little tidbit she left in the end of the epilogue, it makes you want the next book like NOW!! Also I have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of Jace and Lindsey in this series. I kind of felt that there were still some unanswered questions in the end regarding Jace’s past at MIT.

I don’t feel this is a story you have to wait for the other books to be released, but just know going in you will be left kind of hanging and with many questions on your mind.

In this book we follow Lindsey and Jace’s story. Lindsey is the twin sister of Lena, who has gone missing. All Lindsey knows is she is supposed to go to an address and ask the person for help. Little did she know that it would be Jace answering the door. She knows Jace from MIT (where they both went to college) but Jace doesn’t remember her….just her twin Lena. And there is no love loss there between Jace and Lena. For reason we don’t….at least not all of it. Over the course of the story, secrets are told, lies exposed and hearts get involved. Can Jace and Lindsey work together to find Lena?? Will they get their HEA?? You have to read this story to find out.

I am not sure I would call Deadlock a standalone novel because I have a feeling that the characters will continue into other books and I have a feeling some of the storyline will carry over into at least the next book. I’ll just have to wait and see ;) This story was told in the Third person Dual POV. I thought the flow of the story worked, but at times I felt the pace was a little on the slow side for my liking. But still this book was overall enjoyable and worth the read.

So if you are a fan of romantic suspense stories, pick this one up. It will have you devouring the story from beginning to end.

I loved this story! Action, adventure, mystery, intense hatred, instant attraction and wrap it all up in a world of hackers and computer geeks. What more could we ask for? The next story in the series, please!

I received an Advanced Reader’s Copy in exchange for my honest review of the book I will definitely read more books by this author and can’t wait until the next book in the series.

Lindsey and her twin Lena are identical twins but polar opposites in character. Lindsey is rather shy, wholesome and an introvert, Lena is vampy; sly & wily. The only children of parents who had them late in life, while they have a strong bond, Lena’s callous attitude leaves Lindsey more often not fed up with her sister’s seemingly insouciance.

When her sister disappears and leaves her a cryptic text to “goto this address and ask him for help” Lindsey finds the man who was her crush (from afar – she’s the shy one remember?) while at University – a man whom Lena tricked and betrayed leading to his expulsion from MIT.

Instead of facing prison time, Jace’s hacker skills (Lena tricks him into using said skills to hack into the university system to change her D grade to a passing one) lands him into being recruited into a highly covert team of super sleuths (all misfits) who use their computer/tech skills to test out how vulnerable Government systems are (what a job!).

This was an amazing story. I adore smart/talented characters and Jace and Lindsey are both stellar in that sense. Lindsey is a coder extraordinaire herself and a real geek. That she was a perfect complement to Jace had him thinking that it was all an elaborate trap – he’d never met anyone before whose hobbies & likes (gaming!) fitted so perfectly with his. Initially suspicious of Lindsey, her wholesomeness soon has him torn between believing her and paranoia.

Jace’s “team” – his comrades in arms – are wonderful side characters who lend loads of wit and human emotion to the story. Humour, characters you just fall in love with, fantastic romance and suspense. This book has it all.

Highly recommended.

Ok, so while the whole hacker thing isn't exactly my jam, Cherrie Lynn definitely is. This was such a different story, a fresh, exciting, suspenseful romance and I definitely enjoyed it. It had a good dose of angsty heartache, loads of steam, and unpredictable twists and turns. I'm definitely anxious to see what's next in this storyline.

Jace is ex Air Force but is a military hacker. He and his group can hack into anything. Lindsey has a twin who has been flighty and undependable. When she goes missing and Lindsey gets a text to go to this address and ask for help. When she rings the doorbell, Jace opens the door. Jace is furious to see the one woman who totally destroyed his life. He wants nothing to do with her until Lindsey explains she her twin, Jace still thinks they are trying to set him up for something. The more he digs, the more he finds out about Lindsey and Lena. Will Jace realize Lindsey is nothing like Lena but will it be too late once she’s taken too?
Awesome story. Not the usually by this author but I really enjoyed it. Action, lies, secrets, and sex. A guy who trusts no one but his team and a woman who gets in over her head. A cliffhanger.

I really thought Cherrie Lynn mixing hackers +missing twin + intrigue would be super sexy and suspenseful. The author did deliver the sex but not so much the suspense or intrigue. I found myself only mildly interested in Jace and his team, a bit bored by Lindsey, and kind of baffled by the bad guy. In the end, this suffered from too much world building and not enough chemistry or tension.

Basically, Lindsey's identical twin Lena is missing and her last cryptic message sent her to Jace for help. Only Jace never knew Lena had an identical twin, only that he hates Lena with a fiery passion because she got him kicked out of MIT. We know this because it is all Jace ever talks about. Even though he has created a good life following a stint in the Air Force, Jace is so bitter after all these years. In the end, I wondered whether Jace was more in hate with Lena than he was in love with Lindsey.

As for the hackers, they really didn't really do much but have meetings and bicker. I liked the hack-off face-off between Lindsey and Sully but the rest of the Nest team was just background noise. Hopefully the next installment sees a bit more action.

2.5 stars
