A fun and engaging book for kids (and grown ups) in need of a project. Ideas and direction to create your very own toy story characters, and once you've done that, the possibilities are endless. I've lost count of the number of comic strips created with the newfound drawing skills in our household!

"Learn to Draw Disney/Pixar Toy Story" from Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster, Jr. was a great book for kids and adults alike who want to learn how to draw some of Disney Pixar's most beloved characters! Learn how to draw Woody and Buzz Lightyear and some of your other favorite classic toys and characters.

There were easy step-by-step instructions to follow that both children (ages 7 or 8 and up) as well as adults who want to learn more about how to create these characters and their own adaptations like them.

I received this eBook free of charge from Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster Jr. Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. I did not receive any fiscal compensation from either company for this review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.

This book is super cute and fun for everyone that loves Toy Story! The steps are broken down to make it simple, even for beginners. The tips, inspiration and ideas that are added along with it are very helpful and allowed me to be able to draw the characters on my own.

With practice, you can draw your favorite Toy Story characters.

This book provides clear, step-by-step instructions to draw your favorite characters. It provides three separate ways to draw: grids, tracing projects, and practice pages. Because we learn in different ways, even beginners will find their preferred method.

The book, rather than the eBook, is recommended to take advantage of the different styles. I also suggest picking up the companion book, Learn to Draw Disney Winnie the Pooh, to expand the characters available to draw.

I received an ARC from Quarto Publishing through NetGalley. This in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book. I am voluntarily submitting this review and am under no obligation to do so.

This is a book perfect for fans of Pixar's Toy Story and also for those who love to dabble with drawing, whatever be their age. With step by step instructions, the book will take the reader (drawer?!) from lines and curves to Buzz Lightyear or even Forky (from the latest installment of the series)...
While I did try my hand at a couple of them, I think I need a few more tries at this and then I can join the Pixar dreamteam (well, I can dream, can't I?)

thanks to NetGalley for the eARC of the book.

This book is most suitable for persistent/talented children or teenagers.
My 7 year old daughter gave up too easily, probably due to the level of detail in the steps.
I found some of the instructions hard to follow and think further simplifying the pictures would help with younger artists. That being said, it does seem like it would be good for older kids.

This is fun for Disney fans or those that enjoy drawing. This is a 128-page book with characters from each Toy Story movie. Also included are details about art tools, materials and basic drawing techniques and warm up help. The exercises are step-by-step making is easy to follow, which is every helpful for the drawing process. This is a great book for anyone wanting to draw these characters and it is fun too. We recommend it and give it two thumbs up! The shapes used are basics to start then it show things to erase and highlight to make it look the most like the character. Next they show you the coloring process using markers, watercolors, paints or color pencils to finish it up. There are even fun facts about the movies and characters too, which add great fun. This is good for a beginning artist, but anyone that wants to learn these characters will benefit from this book. We have taken a drawing class at Disney World and drawn a few characters. This book reminded us of that experience.

This was one of the most fun reviews I've done in a while! I was excited to have all the new characters from Toy Story 4 as well as all the old favorites.

I have recently renewed my joy of sketching and had fun browsing through this title. My one disappointment was that the images appeared to be computer generated rather than hand-drawn. While I fully acknowledge the amazing technology which brought us the movie, it might be discouraging to a child to not be able to recreate replicas. Still, I found it to be quite enjoyable.

I first this little alien with pencil. I then used water colored pencils and a water brush pen to fill in the colors. Then I used a dark colored pencil for details.

When I showed my daughters my work, they were surprised and impressed! I assured them the book was incredibly helpful and they too could draw beautiful illustrations. They had fun picking out favorite characters to draw again. Forky is definitely a favorite!

This is a beautiful book compiling all the favorites of all the Toy Story movies. If you or your child is a fan of this Disney favorite, you will be delighted with the compilation of how-to drawings.

This review is not going to be long. I am not a huge fan of a review rehashing the entire plot and spoiling it for everyone.

Great guide for step by step drawing with all your favorite toy story characters, beautifully presented and easy to follow, great for older kids and also adults

Drawing has never been my strength, I love doing crafty things until you make me draw something! I’ve tried different books and techniques, but I suppose the main problem is time, I don’t have the time to “learn” and let’s be honest, is neither my strongest!
But I’ll have to admit that with my son being a big fan of Toy Story, I couldn’t resist to try to learn how to draw the famous characters: Buzz, Woody, Boo… so I tried the Learn to Draw Disney/Pixar Toy Story by Walter Foster Jr. Creative Team book!
For starters there are a few different position for every character, so you can choose which one you want to start; and a lot of useful tricks and examples that will make the process much more fun and easy!
The illustrations are big and colorful, easy to follow and done with a fine pen to show you exactly how to “perfect” your characters. There are too some do’s and don’t to make the experience more fun and interesting.
And I am sure you want to take a look at my designs… don’t laugh, they are not perfect, but I had so much fun trying to draw these characters! And my son was able to difference each of them, so I suppose I didn’t make them so badly!
This is a book for young and adult that love to learn how to draw these famous Toy Story characters, they’ll have hours of fun learning and then creating their own adventure scenes, I am sure!

The Learn to Draw Toy Story Collection is a great resource for anyone looking to get into drawing cartoon characters.

The characters are super detailed and I feel some of the characters need more drawing steps for beginners but would be perfect for someone with drawing experience.

This book although complex at times was fun to try and I'm interested to see what else the illustrator works on.

A great book not just for Disney fans but people who love drawing.
It has several sections, and what I liked most was it provided how to do the basics of drawing and give you the tools to create the characters.
I hope you have fun drawing the characters like I did.

Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of Learn to Draw Disney/Pixar Toy Story Collector's Edition. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.

This learn to draw book includes all of the characters from the Disney/Pixar Toy Story movie series. The book is well illustrated with great step-by-step instructions for artists of all ages and skill levels. Each step is laid out and is clearly marked, with reference pictures that can be used by artists to keep on track.

The beginning of the book includes a short introduction of which art tools and materials are necessary, as well as a few basic drawing techniques. This section is a bit short, so beginners may want to try a few drawing exercises from a basic skills book before attempting some of the more difficult characters.

Both adults and children will delight in trying their hand at drawing their favorite Toy Story character. The book reminded me of a former attraction at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios called the Magic of Disney Animation Academy, where parkgoers could take a short drawing class. I would recommend the book to Disney/Pixar fans and I look forward to capturing the likeness of some of my favorite Toy Story characters.
