Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

I love the Wide Eyed series and this is fantastic as ever. Kids will always love the glow-in-the-dark theme, and there's great information to go with the various animals and habitats too. Fantastic choice!

This is a beautiful book for children with lots of information. I like how the book looks at the animals and why they come out at night. I want to now get hold of the real book to see how it glows in the dark.

Enjoyable, entertaining book for kids who like animals and most kids do. Bonus points because it glows in the dark!

This is a great book, showing nocturnal animals in their habitats around the world. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, colorful and filled with detail. The are bits of information about each habitat and its creatures, giving details about their lives and habits. I was lucky enough to get an e-arc of this book, I can't wait to see the actual book with the glow in the dark effects!

"Glow in the Dark: Animals at Night," by Katy Flint is an interesting glow-in-the-dark children's picture book with beautifully illustrated scenes of animals at night in all types of ecosystems and habitats. The locations come from every continent on the planet with many varied places. The book covers the Savanna to coral reefs to mangrove forests in India. It even includes a couple pages on the city you live in and what might be stirring at night.

This was an engaging read with lots of information for kids to learn and absorb.

I received this eBook free of charge from Quarto Publishing Group – Wide Eyed Editions via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. I did not receive any fiscal compensation from either company for this review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.

I really liked this one, as it had beautiful artwork in it. It was also diverse in terms of animals and territories/habitats.

I loved this book and learned a great deal of facts. Instead of being presented in a dry fashion, it’s organized into a loose story that moves through different regions. A search for various animals adds an additional element of fun. The illustrations are gorgeous!

This is the most beautifully illustrated book I’ve ever seen. The information is educational without encroaching on the impact of the art work. While I’m unable to see the glownin the dark, I can certainly see where it would go and it will most definitely add to the effect.

This book is just beautiful, the pictures are amazing and full of fascinating details. The information is well written and a ideal introduction for younger children. I would definitely recommend this for a ks1 classroom.
We loved it.

I cannot say enough about this book. The words are informational but brief so that children can understand. The illustrations are some of the best I have ever seen. They are detailed with warm colors that reach out and bring you close. Each contain a couple of animals to find and explore. The variety is impressive including such things as tarantulas and pufferfish.

Do not hesitate to purchase this book. Children will want to read it and search the pages over and over.

I received an ARC from Quarto Publishing Group – Wide Eyed Editions through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book.

I can't wait to see the printed version of this book and test out the glow in the dark feature. Even without, the illustrations are absolutely beautiful. The labels and fact bubbles are interesting and informative.

Simple to understand facts about nocturnal animals, organized by habitat (which I loved), depicted in gorgeous illustrations. This is one I'd love to own to use in our homeschool while studying different habitats or just to introduce the idea of nocturnal animals to a preschool or early elementary child.

The illustrations are beautiful and the text is short and interesting. This is the perfect book to introduce some great animals to children with. Of course, the glow in the dark will make it extra fun. Great picture book for introducing night animals to children.

This is a fun animal book, and would be good for kids. I enjoyed it and it included most of my favorite animals, so that's awesome. Given the electronic nature of the ARC, I missed out on the glow-in-the-dark aspect of the book, which I think would be neat in the physical book. I think this would be worth a purchase.

Glow in the Dark: Animals at Night is a non fiction picture book written by Katy Flint and illustrated by Cornelia Li. Itis currently scheduled for release on July 16 2019.

Meet the animals that come out at night in this nocturnal adventure across the globe’s habitats, including a glow-in-the-dark poster of the deep sea.See the jaguar prowling the Amazon rain forest, spot the lion pride on the African savanna, and visit a turtle nesting beach under the stars. Then, turn off the lights to see the ocean creatures glow on the 24” × 11.5” tear-out poster. The book’s cover glows in the dark too! (Be sure to charge them in the light first.)

Each spread features a different nighttime habitat animated by a description of the activities of its various creatures. Fact boxes name each of the creatures and tells a bit about what makes them special. Learn about the rain forest mammals called kinkajous, who slurp flower nectar by night and nest in tree hollows by day, and the rare and mysterious night parrots, who emerge after sunset in the Australian outback to feed on the seeds of spinifex bushes, among many other amazing nocturnal creatures. The habitats you’ll explore are: City, Rain forest, Beach, Australian outback, Woodland, Arctic, Mountains, Mangrove forest, Desert, Coral reef, and Savanna.

Glow in the Dark: Animals at Night is a beautifully illustrated look at the animals that come out after dark. The artwork does a great job of capturing the wonder of the creatures and their habitats. It is a pity that I was reading a digital copy so I missed the effects of the glow in the dark work, which considering the other artwork I suspect is quite lovely. I thought that the text was well written and accessible to a wide range of ages and knowledge levels. I liked the tone used, it was very conversational and informative without being stuffy or condescending. I think this book will be a hit with animal or nature lovers as well as those who simply love a picturebook that is lovely to look at.

What an absolutely breathtakingly-beautiful delight of a non-fiction book, inviting children to stay up past their bedtime (or at least pretend to) to discover the fascinating world of nocturnal creatures, great and small, of the night. Flint and Li have pulled off a fantastic volume, both interestingly written and gorgeously illustrated to inspire the curiosity of every child that has dreamed of sneaking into the zoo after dusk.

As we travel around the globe through different continents and habitats, we’re introduced to nocturnal animals, both familiar and rare, which stir to life as the sun goes down and children are tucked in for a night of rest. We discover that their lives are just as busy as ours and learn about what makes them special and helps them survive this dangerous twilit world. Animals at Night is filled with interesting facts and uses wonderfully descriptive writing to challenge and stimulate young brains, and my children adored flipping through it and learning about so many captivating creatures.

Each page is a work of art, glimmering and glinting both on the screen and in paper form, and will capture readers’ imagination as they are whisked away to a world so different from the daytime we know, that it seems almost magical and alien. I’m sure this book will be enjoyed by children and parents of all ages, and would definitely be a worthy addition to the home or classroom library.

In this beautiful colorful album (despite the theme of the night), we found in each double page a world lit by the glow of stars and the animals that live here.
To each (or almost all) species shown, a small inset dedicated to the presentation of the animal and/or the reason for its nightlife.

In short, it's an album that I really liked, and I really appreciated the illustrations, made by Cornelia Li.
I would very much like to have a physical version of this book, so I hope that the book will be translated into French because I think I will buy it! ^^
