Been There, Married That is about the journey of Agnes Murphy Nash. Agnes is discovering her identity in the middle of a divorce from her Hollywood husband. Their lifestyle is larger than any life I could imagine for myself, which just makes it a perfect escape! This has the glitz and sophistication of Hollywood living, but it also has the pressure and the quirks of all the weird people in Agnes' life.

The supporting characters to Agnes' life and journey are great. Her teenage daughter, her sister who spent time in prison, her husband, Trevor...and many more people that you will either love or hate. Overall, a hilarious read!!!!

This book is a mess! The writing is bad with its chopped sentences and the characters were some kind of caricatures. I think the author wanted to write a hilarious rom-com novel but totally missed the mark. It was painful to read and I had to put it down.

Been There, Married That was a fun read. I have never read anything by Gigi Levangie before but will look for more of her works in the future. The story was a bit all over the place and felt rushed at times, but overall was an enjoyable read. I found the book humorous and entertaining. .

Thank you NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the opportunity to read and review this free eARC

I really enjoyed reading Been There, Married That by Gigi Levangie. I received it for free in exchange for an honest review through NetGalley. I will say that there are many edits that need to be made to make it smoother, but I honestly could not put it down. I found it to be snarky, funny, and witty. It was very enjoyable and I will be looking for more to read by this author. Thank you!

I like snarky books because they make me laugh but this one was all over the place. Was getting a little confused at times. Maybe if the author kept on 1 topic instead of being all over the place I would of enjoyed the book more.

This book was good though I will say it lost some of its momentum towards the end. I enjoyed the characters, but the love triangle was smothered what felt like far too quickly and easily when we finally had everyone all together. All in all it was a fun read I just felt it could have been even more. I wished there had been more details and plot reveals in the end instead of the drawn out beginning and short end we received.

A hilarious account of what happens when a Hollywood couple divorces, especially when the wife was a normal person. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get behind any of the characters; none of them are really likeable and this isn’t a story where they’re suppose to be unlikeable. But, it was a quick and short read, so I didn’t expect it to go beneath the surface.

I enjoyed this book, but not as much as I thought I would. I thought it would be much funnier, but was still a light enjoyable read.

I think this is the first netgalley book that has been sent to me that I just cannot read. It's like listening to someone talk at you while suffering from ADD and on steroids, it's all over the place and just so uninteresting.

The cover/title and description of the book sounded like one I'd really enjoy However this just wasn't one that was my cup of tea. I'm sure there are people who will love it...I just didn't get into it. Thanks to NetGalley for an honest review in exchange for an e-ARC.

The first few chapters were kind of hard for me as they made me think I was watching one of the many housewives of wherever, and I don't care about name dropping brands. When husband decides he wants a divorce right now the first time I was ready to throw in the towel on this book because wife has been a high profile wife of a very successful producer for ten years and didn't seem to know anything about how the world works in wealth. She is just too innocent and plainly didn't pay any attention to her "friends" divorces. However, once the split happens for real and sister comes into the book, it gets good and fun. I kept reading to find out what's going to happen with our menopausal heroine and when is she going to grow a spine and give old husband a shove out the door. Somethings never happen, but she finally uses her brain and evens the playing field for her child. The writing gets confusing at times, we're on a subject and suddenly reading about something completely different, maybe scene breaks will show in the final version, it would help to not take the reader out of the story. All in all it was a fun read. Thanks NetGalley and publishers for the read.

Life's been a bit tough lately, and I needed something that would make me laugh out loud. This was the perfect dose of catty and trivial, which is what I'd hoped for going into it. Good for when we all need to pick up something a little bit lighter!

Is there such a thing as too many witty one-liners? That's what I have to keep asking myself as I'm writing this review. Let me start out by saying this is my first Gigi Levangie book so I had no clue what to expect. For the first few chapters, I seriously felt like I was reading an author's brainstorming notes on funny scenes/phrases/conversations that they might stretch throughout their next novel, then I felt incredibly confused, and then it finally clicked that Levangie LOVES witty one-liners and that this book doesn't have enough paragraph breaks. Once I finally "got it" the rest of the book felt like standing in the ocean surf where the waves keep trying to knock you down but you are kind of enjoying it, but kind of not enjoying it because you keep sucking salt water up your nose. I thought Agnes and her sense of humor were pretty special for the most part, but it just never stopped and she always had too many snarky thoughts/comments/observations for her character to ever feel real or relatable. Levangie didn't allow the reader time to laugh/sigh/gasp and really take in the first snark fest before she threw in three more witty comments for good measure. So I kept reading to find out what happened to Pep, but I really didn't care about any of the other characters. I know that a lot of people would really enjoy the constant biting, self-effacing, gossip type humor but I'm not one of them. I would love to read another Levangie book to see if her vivid world creation and humor would translate differently in a non-Hollywood book. Thank you for allowing me to read and review this book!

I went into this thinking that the story would be similar to authors such as Sophie Kinsella and JoJo Moyer. I was mistaken.
Although the premise of the story had potential, the characters were just "meh" and I found the story line to be a bit fractured. It jumped all over the place, with no lead ins, which made for very confusing reading. I am no prude, but felt that some of the vulgarity used in places was overkill and only used for shock value.
Although it went against what I wanted to do, I feel that I have to go all in when reading a story, so I read to the end. Talk about another BIG non sequitur. I don't know if Gigi was trying to leave it open to continue the story, which I wouldn't recommend, but it had me still waiting for the end of the story.
I can not in good conscience recommend this book based on the current manuscript.
In closing, I would like to thank Gigi Levangie, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for offering this advance reader copy for my honest review.

After two chapters, I have to abandon this book. It's just way too much of everything! It doesn't read easily, it bounces back and forth between characters, and I kept getting lost from the very beginning. This is a story on stimulants! I think if Levangie would take down the "hyperness" a few notches, it might be more readable. Thanks for letting me have a go at it.

A story set around the wealthy folks mostly of the entertainment variety. A lot of snarky humor which I found funny on the whole but often jumped around so much as to leave me lost. I actually would flip back in the story to try and figure out how I got where I was.
One day our Agnes, the wife of a Hollywood bigwig and a writer in her own right, finds herself on the receiving end of an uncoupling. What ensues is the absurd behaviors of a soon-to-be-ex winning at all costs. From the canceling of credit cards, to being excluded from the Hollywood wife clubs, and the house and grounds -keepers taking sides, it is a story rife with first world problems.
More somberly and universally, and most realistic within these pages, is the war waged for the custody of their only child.
A light-weight romp with bigger issues skimmed over to make for a quick, entertaining read.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for a review.

This book made me laugh out loud, A LOT! This is the first book I have read by Gigi Levangie and it definitely will not be the last. Been There, Married That is about the break up of a Hollywood marriage and as insane as some of the events are, I am willing to bet that a lot of it is close to what really might happen in a marriage out in La-La Land. I found this story to be lighthearted and funny; the perfect beach or vacation read or if you just need some easy reading. I read this in about two days and really enjoyed it.

Agnes Murphy Nash proves all you need to survive a Hollywood divorce is a fiercely loyal felon for a sister, equally loyal staff (who will put curses on your husband), a psychic, and some really good revenge sex with someone as powerful as your soon-to-be ex.

Agnes is slightly smug—her and Trevor’s marriage has outlasted most of Hollywood couples’. Yet she is blindsided by her husband’s betrayal and amazed by the lengths he will go to to humiliate her. It’s not that he cares so much about gaining custody of their daughter. He just has to win.

The reader hopes some elements of Gigi Levangie’s latest novel are farcical, although they probably are not. Agnes is eminently likable—her father and sister even more so, but Trevor is unspeakably odious. Watching Agnes’s descent from Hollywood royalty is painful, but Levangie manages to eke out a humorous, perhaps even hopeful, ending.

Although Trevor still lives, unfortunately.

A funny look at LA and Hollywood life and relationships within. Agnes is something else. Her marriage is unraveling and relationships become questionable. I found the book to be quite humorous.

#booksofinstagram #books📚 #bookstagram #netgalleyreview #netgalley #beentheremarriedthat #gigilevangie this book was interesting. I enjoyed the story. All though sometimes she would switch and I'd get confused. It's a cute little chick lit book. I'd say three out of five stars. The ending i felt was just a tad abrupt.
