The Brunstetter ladies wrote another wonderful book. This book is a collection of short stories. Each story deals with different situations that each of us may have either dealt with ourselves or know someone who has. They also showed how we should handle the situation and provided appropriate Bible verses. My favorite story was Tempted. It was about a woman who struggled with sweets and found out she was prediabetic. You can easily read a full story during a break. I enjoyed this book very much. Thank you to Netgalley and Barbour Publishing for the ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

Amish Front Porch Stories:
18 Short Tales Of Simple Faith And Wisdom
By Wanda E. Brunstetter, Jean Brunstetter & Richelle Brunstetter
Published by Shiloh Run Press, 05 November 2019 (UK date)

This is a great collection of Amish-themed short stories, written by Wanda Brunstetter, her daughter-in-law, Jean, and her grandaughter, Richelle.

Wanda needs no introduction, and it is lovely to see other members of her family picking up the mantle and carrying on the tradition of Amish fiction writing.

Considering these are short stories, a great deal of gentle Christian admonishment and love is packed into them, sometimes covertly and sometimes overtly, but never confrontational or overbearing in tone or attitude. Whether we interact with Amish folk on holiday, at home, feasting or
grieving, the sense of community provides comfort, humour, human interest and hope in each story.

The only criticism is that some of the stories are perhaps a little uneven in pace and dialogue, but I have every expectation that as Jean and Richelle write more, this will be less noticeable; this is only a very minor quibble and does not in any way detract from my enjoyment.

Thanks to the publisher for allowing me a free digital copy to read and review via NetGalley.

Amish Front Porch Stories by Wanda E., Jean and Richelle Brunstetter is a beautiful and inspiring collection of short stories. Topics range from love, joy, peace, and gentleness to self-control, meekness, and long suffering. Each story is unique and you can just hear a person sharing with someone to help them overcome a problem area or issue in their life.
I really enjoyed this book and while it is fictional it reads like a devotional also, in my opinion. I was often touched personally by the story. There a total of eighteen stories under nine topics. I give this book 5 of 5 stars. The writing of each story is excellent and the messages wonderful without being preachy.
I received an advance copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

This book is filled with Beautiful heart warming stories. I've been reading one or two a night before bed, as a way to winddown and still have God on my mind without doing a full devotional. a gentle reminder of the fruits of the spirt. A must read!

This is the first time I have read a book of Amish stories, and I was not as impressed as I was hoping to be. These stories are super simple with flat characters and quite preachy. I am sure they are just right for someone, but that someone was not me.

I am a serious Brunstetter fan from way back when I first discovered Christian fiction and Amish fiction. She has added many heartwarming books to my most treasured stories. I know I will find simple faith and wisdom not only in the pages, but in the characters as well. I think I’ve learned quite a few valuable lessons from them!

First off, this cover just draws me in! I can see myself sitting on that porch on a lazy summer afternoon chatting away with a friendly Amish neighbor. Maybe even shucking peas while we talk, and sipping homemade tea or lemonade to pass the time. Those rocking chairs look so inviting! Can you picture it in your head too? Secondly, I was amazed at how quickly I read these eighteen stories. Each one of them quickly drew me into the lives of the characters; like stepping into their shoes and glimpsing a slice of what everyday life is for them. Just because they are simple Amish folk, doesn’t mean they aren’t without troubles or struggles of their own too! I think my most favorite thing about these, how each story relates to the Fruit of the Spirit; Love, Joy, Peace, Long-suffering (patience), Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, and Temperance. The characters come to learn how to deal with life using each of these “fruits”, which in turn, helped me to remember how to deal with these in my own life—by praying more, talking to other Christians when I struggle, delving into God’s word when I need guidance, and showing kindness always in all situations. I really believe that everyone can benefit from being reminded of these truths! Living out God’s ways of doing things can shine the light of Christ in our world and I think the authors did a perfect job of portraying that in their characters.

“A simple action is all that is needed to show God’s love to a neighbor.” ~Simple Actions by Wanda Brunstetter

If you are an Amish fiction reader or a Brunstetter fan, I think you will enjoy this collection of stories just as I did. Each one is a small bite size tale packed with faith, truth and sometimes even love!

This collection of 18 Amish stories, compiled by Wanda, Jean, and Richelle Brunstetter, makes for great relaxing reading. Following the tradition of all Brunstetter books, each story relays a situation where the main character endures a situation making them realize they need to lean on God, family, their Amish traditions, and the learning of how the fruits of the spirit is to be applied to their life.

"Amish Front Porch Stories" presents a series of short stories that deal with problems or issues commonly encountered by many people. The topics include dealing with children, taking on too much responsibility, changing one's behavior, working through grief, and caring for family members, among other topics. Each story focuses on a particular virtue or quality. The stories all feature different Amish characters. In addition, each story concludes with a guiding scripture verse that is applicable to the story situation. The stories are all written by different members of the Brunstetter family.

I enjoyed the plots of all the stories, and felt empathy for the characters in their struggles. The authors showed that all people, no matter their walk of life or beliefs, struggle with the same kinds of issues and problems in daily life. Every story can be read in one sitting. Although the stories are similar in scope, the unique style of each author is apparent.

I would classify these stories as "morality stories," since they deal with specific problems and how they are solved through faith and perseverance. I could imagine these stories being told by parents to their children, or shared among friends and neighbors. I really appreciated knowing that all people struggle with the same issues, and can find ways to deal with them, through the influence of faith, family, and friends.

Readers who want to learn more about the Amish and their beliefs and faith will enjoy these little gems. The Christian message is overt, so readers should be aware of this before beginning the stories. Readers who are Christian should find inspiration and support as they read the stories.

I received this book from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

These ladies certainly have a knack for writing some of the most wonderful stories ever and I love that they include a little something for everyone to enjoy.
I love Wanda and have been a fan of hers forever! It was a delight to meet Jean and Richelle as well. I think it's great that such talent runs in the family. I was hoping they'd write more and I wasn't disappointed!
Reading these stories gave me a peaceful feeling after each one. Each one is unique in their own way.
I think that we can learn a few things from the Amish. I like the way they pray at every meal and even though it's silent God can still hear everything that we and I say we because He knows what's in our hearts.
I also appreciate the way they want to be in the world but not of it. I think all of us would be a lot better off.
And I would dearly love to go for a buggy ride.
This book can be used to give as a gift to a loved one no matter the reason.
I think I will buy one for someone hoping it will bless them as it has me.
I received a complimentary copy from Barbour and Netgalley with NO compensations received. All opinions are my own.

Wanda Brunstetter is my favorite Amish Story teller. I have read lots and lots of her stories. This collection to me was a bonus. It includes not only Wanda but Jean and Richelle Brunstetter. When you chose a Brunstetter book you know it will be a wholesome book with wonderful life lessons. Amish Front Porch Stories is a collection of 18 different situations and how the ladies involved dealt with them. If you need to be reminded of where our hope comes from, you can pick up this collection and read a story in less than an hour. My favorite part was reading one or two at the end of the day. I would recommend this collection to anyone who likes Amish stories. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing through NetGalley. This short collection of faith-filled stories is very uplifting to read. At the start of each story, the authors identify a problem that an Amish woman is facing, and how she overcomes her difficulties. So often, I think, those of us outside the Amish community tend to think that the Amish are content at all times with their life style, children and choices they have made. This book made me realize that everyone faces challenges that there are sometimes better ways to handle them.
