I received a copy of this arc from NetGalley for an honest review. I flipped through this book but would prefer to have a copy in my hand so that I can mark it up. I will definitely be purchasing a copy for myself.

I read the original Addicted to Unhappiness and I stunned at how it made other things I had learned about the mind so clear. The mind is goal driven, but the mind of a child is goal driven to assume it's parents are right. Therefore, it will take on goals of being unhappy if repeated parent behaviour causes unhappiness. It's a stunningly not obvious form of self-sabotage and this book helped to set me free to some degree. I am eagerly going to read the second edition because my only criticism was that there was a lack of clear techniques for dealing with this. Luckily, I had my own from other fields - but as a book of revelations this was amongst the best.
