Who wouldn't love this book!? The characters make you feel you are part of their lives, you experience their highs and lows just as you would in your own lives with the hope that the ending would turn out well for them, after all a fairy tale always does doesn't it? Set in the swinging sixties in London this is a fabulous book, humorous, poignant and a true reflection of modern life. A great read - highly recommended.

This book is described as a "Wild, Coming of Age Journey Through the Swinging Sixties" and was anything but that. It was boring and way too long. I cannot believe there are six books in this series!

I totally requested Can't Buy Me Love because of the cover, but then I read the synopsis and I was hooked!

This is the first book in a six book series. In this installment, we get to see the main character Edith leave her parents and become e thriving, fun, adventures person. I am really looking forward to reading the other books and watching Edith grow through the next three decades!

The writing in Can't Buy Me Love was really good. I loved how the story and plot flowed. Again, I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

This was An ok book but the ending left a lot to be desired. I do understand it is the first in a series, but for me, the first book did not make me want to read the second book, etc. To sum it up, everything was just ok.

This book was a fun read with emotions that lingered with me long after I finished the book. The author did a great job of aging the characters well, but keeping them youthful in their hopes and dreams — and love.

It’s true, as the Beatles sang, you can’t buy love. But you can find a way to cherish love.

A well written and engrossing book told as a memoir.
This is how I imagine the 60s were and I liked the style of writing and the characters.
I'd like to read other work by this author.
Recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

I got this as a Read Now from NetGalley, it was tagged as a Memoir, since been changed to Women's Fiction. Fiction it is, written in the style of a memoir, only told from two peoples perspective. Sophia, formally known as Edith and Ronnie her cousin.
It didn't really do it for me. All the sex scenes and “How wonderful I look” from Sophia, and the wonderful Ronnie, it's all a hedonistic lifestyle that they are trying to pursue.
The writing was good and it was an easy read. I also, unknown to me at the time got the second book so I read that as well. At least I didn't feel short changed that the first book just finished.
Not sure I would pay for the other books just to see how it ended.

Thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for my ARC in return for an honest review.

Evocative of what I imagine the 60s would have been like (I am, of course, FAR too young to know first hand), this book is well-written and full of emotion.
