Ms. MacGregor continues to write stories that make the reader want to turn the next page and stay up late until the entire book is finished. There were times that Avalon totally annoyed me with her trust issued, but I was rooting for her and Devan all the way.

Thanks to netgalley for providing me a copy of this book to read and review.
I have read all the books in this series n i think with each book the author gets better and better. While waiting for the next book I often get dissapointed because the book doesn't live up to its expectation. I m happy to say Wild, wild rake met my expectations beautifully. Jaana 's stories make us believe that nice men like Devan, William exist and people do have wonderful love stories. For a chance our hero is a virgin here and heroine a widow. Their relationship evolves beautifully. I just have one complain, they take too much time to their first kiss. Their love scenes are great but few.Devan n Avalon are beautiful together as William and Thea. The book was absolutely worth my time.

Wild, Wild Rake is a phenomenal historical romance by Janna MacGregor. Ms. MacGregor has provided readers with a well-written book and filled it with a spectacular cast of characters. The Marquess of Warwyk was forced into marriage and hated his wife, not for anything she did, but it didn't stop him from beating her down with lies to anyone that would listen. Avalon is sent to live in a village with her son and has raised him without a father. She's not heartbroken when she becomes a widow. Devan was there to witness one of Avalon's worst moments and had coined the name Lady Warlock for her. Devan and Avalon's story is packed with drama, humor, angst, sizzle, action and suspense. I loved this 6 star book from cover to cover and look forward to my next book by Janna MacGregor. Wild, Wild Rake is book 6 of The Cavensham Heiresses but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A slow burn at first but built up to be pretty, uh, spicy 4.5 rounded uP

While I typically like historical romances, this one was not for me. I prefer more banter and jokes than what happened here. While I really felt for the heroine, I had a hard time connecting with her - there seemed to be no lighter side of the coin.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was not taken with this novel. The language was difficult to follow and the characters bland. Lady Avalon is outcastes by her husband and finds freedom in exchange. She dedicates her life to helping fallen women become financially independent. While that is admirable I found her character to be too unyielding and unforgiven. The hero is initially a perpetrator but turns benevolent when he learns of her true experience. While he comes to love her I was never fully convinced of his true devotion.
