I loved this book! Meal prepping is such a good tool to have when you’re a busy person and Jackie Sobon provides great information on how to do it. The photos are very appealing too. This book has been so helpful in my household. Thanks to the publisher for the opportunity to review the title.

This book was difficult to finish. I did not feel the information was useful for a seasoned vegan. But lots of great ideas if you did not have any experience in the kitchen.

Vegan Yack Attack's Plant-Based Meal Prep is my current vegan bible. Great photos, approachable recipes, too! Jackie Sobon is a total pro when it comes to preparing plant-based foods. I even convinced my kid to get into the prepping habit for her lunches. The book is so clear and easy to follow. All it takes is a little bit of forethought to get your fridge full of healthy foods! Sobon has several books (which I already own) that help make filling your bellies with nutrient-dense foods a little easier. As I write this review, I have a pot of vegan almond butter sweet potato kale stew waiting for me to dive into! This is a great cookbook for anyone looking to take the plunge into the world of healthier eating.

Finding ourselves “Vegan Curious” after a deep dive into Netflix documentaries like ‘The Game Changers’ and ‘Forks Over Knives’, we started seeking out vegan recipes online and our local book stores. Unfortunately, a lot of the content we found didn’t align with our philosophy of avoiding processed foods and working with real ingredients.
This book though was the answer to what we’d been seeking. Simple, healthy, very accessible recipes. Clear presentation and easy to follow instructions. Highly recommended!

This is one of the most “accessible” vegan books I gave come across. The recipes require ingredients that are bought at your local supermarket and, quite frankly, they looked delicious. I am happy to have added several recipes to my repertoire.

I enjoyed the concept of this cookbook immensely. As a young family of 5, we are constantly on the go and always looking for ways to make eating healthy easier. This book certainly would help with that. The only issue I really had is that we're not actually vegan, so I found myself adapting some of the recipes to our more paleo way of living. This created a little extra work, but wasn't too bad. I mean, it's really my fault since the book is obviously vegan! And some of the recipes ran a tad pricey for us. My kids enjoyed several of the recipes we tried and I enjoyed finding new ways to "hide" veggies and make healthy meals in advance. All in all I would recommend this book to those looking to find new ways to eat healthy.

For someone who hasn’t eaten red meat for nearly 20 years and genuinely attempting to give up chicken and fish, any way of increasing my vegetarian (or vegan) intake is always welcomed. Fortunately, this book is a great addition to those I have previously bought, providing some nice recipes which can always be prepared exactly how the author details or throw in some of your own ideas specific to your tastes.

One good thing with Jackie Sobon’s book is that, as the title suggests there are instructions on preparing meals and snacks for the week which is always a huge benefit if you do not have the time to prepare meals like these daily.

A great book with healthy recipes and nutritional analysis for those who watch their macros.

I found this to be a mediocre cookbook/meal prep book. I think many of the recipes were uninspired and were missing a bit of pizazz to make it more interesting. I liked the concept, however. There are many similar things out there and I would pass on this one.

When making the transition to a vegan way of life, it can be tough. This book makes it easier.
I was excited when I saw this book, because I have the author's pervious book, when is fantastic.
There are many great recipes and guides for prepping tasty vegan dishes in this book. Like a plug and play for eating. Highly recommended!

There's no denying: I love Vegan Yack Attack! I discovered in a cookbook and loved it ever since and this book came in very handy as I really want to try more meal prep!

This book is great for vegans, both new and experienced. I loved all the colourful pictures because I feel that's what draws me into a recipe. The prepping tips were really helpful for me when batch cooking and although I didn't try many recipes, the ones I did were great. I love that most are whole food plant based. There are easy to see labels for oil-free, gluten-free, nut-free, sugar-free etc, as well as cook times (under 10 minutes, etc.) and freezer friendly. This allowed me to easily see what recipes I would like or would want to skip. I look forward to trying more recipes!

A great resource since transitioning to veganism really requires prep. This lays it out in an easy way to follow to stick to your vegan plan.

Really well thought out book. I enjoyed the recipes enough that I decided to purchase this one.

The recipes are different and original, but simple. The Dill Roasted Chickpeas with Potato Wedges was delicious. The shopping lists contained ingredients that were easily obtained at most local supermakets, even ones in smaller towns.

Everything was organized and easy to understand. I only had one small criticism. I don't do complicated breakfasts. I make some overnight oats with some dried fruit, or some granola. A lot of people are the same about quick uncomplicated breakfasts. I wish she had separated the shopping list, with the breakfast ingredients in a separate category. It didn't affect my rating because it was small flaw in a really great cookbook.

I did have to cut down the proportions because I am single person, but that was easy. Everything worked well, and tasted great. I was able to easily put away a week of meals without a lot of work.

The cleanup was also easy. I didn't make a lot of mess in the kitchen.

This one is a keeper.

Now this is my kind of cook book!

I like to mix up my lunch meals week on week as I hate having the same thing repeatedly. I had started to run out of ideas but this cook book has really added in some amazing new lunches to try and lays it out in an easy way for me to get organised! It has shopping lists and plans the meals out so you can make them in advanced if you need to. The smoky sweet potato soup is as good as it looks!

This cookbook is very informative and user friendly. The book contains recipes for people who have never done meal prep as well as some for those who have specific preferences. It also states macros which is super helpful.
The only thing I don’t like is that some of these ingredients are difficult to get at the store or are kind of expensive.
All in all I would definitely recommend this book to everyone (even if you aren’t vegan).

Vegan Yack Attack’s Plant-Based Meal Prep

Meal planning is something I have always wanted to try. I remember having the calendar out, allotting two days each week to husband, daughter and son and letting them choose the menu for the days that were theirs but it never lasted long. I know that planning is supposed to save time but so far have always found the organizational skills lacking or time lacking or whatever.

I believe THIS book would be beneficial to any number of plant-based vegan eaters who would like to begin planning meals for one or an entire family. The information is succinct about how to set yourself up for success and includes information on how to choose meals, where to find the recipes in the book, how to create a shopping list, what to put the food into for best storage, a four week planning device (again with recipes and page numbers) and plenty of delicious recipes to plunk into a planning grid when you are ready to begin.

The recipes that grabbed my interest were:
* Lemon-rosemary chickpea pasta casserole
* Naked seitan picata
* Peanut butter pancake sandwiches
* Shakshuka (really would love to try making those “eggs”)
* More than one snack/dessert
* Lentil walnut sausage crumbles (though I can’t find some of the ingredients where I live)
* More than one dressing/sauce

My only quibble is that more than one of these recipes requires an item I cannot find in local grocery stores but if I lived where I could find those ingredients I would make quite a few of the recipes in this book and give meal planning and prepping a try.

I want to add some vegan meals into my family's diet, but since I hadn't grown up making vegan meals, this cookbook will be a great help.

Mmmmm!! This is such a colourful, non-preachy approach perfect for newbie meal preppers, vegans, veggies and carnivores alike, as well as seasoned pros to prepping.
I am one of the aforementioned newbies, a non vegan but very occasional meat eater, having spent 9 years a vegetarian, I often lean towards meat free meals.
I love how this book uses easy to follow instructions, and plenty of tips for substituting ingredients and mixing an matching sides and sauces. As a British reader living in Italy, we can't easily get some of the ingredients mentioned but it is easy enough to sub them out for other things, or tweak the recipes.
The instructions are very clear and it is easy to find the ideal recipes that you can make even a week in advance, some you can freeze, others don't even need refrigerating at all! There are also hints about meal prepping for one person or for the family. I don't tend to take packed lunches to work, but I find that the recipes are useful for preparing dinners in bulk ahead of time. Even if you aren't planning to 'meal prep' per se, this is a great selection of vegan-friendly recipes for dinner parties as the yields are quite large. Of course you can easily change the amounts to suit you and your needs.
As part of my 2020 resolution to live more naturally - meaning more fresh cooking from scratch and home grown herbs, this little guide will be by my side!
