I didn't know this writer and I loved her style. I'm a fan of romances as well as cliches with a great resolution and good dialogues, the connection between the couple is great, and a very cute ending give me everything that i want and need.

Read. This. Book! Their love and lust will have you swooning. I devoured this book in a day (to do list, be damned!) and I absolutely love love loved every second of it. You've got two genuinely likeable heroes and you're rooting for them right from the start!

AMAZING!

This is one of my favorite tropes " the fake fiance/spouse" trope and Jayci executed this one well. For a debut author, the chemistry and the push/pull of the relationship is extremely well done. The chemistry between Natalie and Garrett was off the charts. Natalie is in a power struggle with an older couple to adopt her niece but being a single woman is working against her. Garrett's Grandmother won't turn over the reins of the family business until he marries the woman she's picked out for him. Garrett doesn't believe in marriage and happily ever after, so he makes a bid to outmatch his Grandmother by saying he already has a fiance. Natalie works as the HR rep for the LA office of the business Garrett's family runs and when she messes up the chance to have a promotion that would have increased her earning potential as well as allowing her to give the courts a better chance for her to adopt her niece she is willing to take Garrett's proposal. Except she has a crush on him and he finds her irresistible. They make a bargain to keep this platonic except they can't seem to keep their hands off each other.

There are so many good moments within the story, from the moment when Garrett tries to rescue Natalie from his Grandmother and instead interrupts teatime?? I was cracking up. I loved that the fact that they were Korean played a big part in their romance and how their relationship along with the fake relationship was being shaped and shared. I loved that Natalie had a friend that had her back and was willing to teach her what she didn't know as well as help her out when she was feeling overwhelmed. I enjoyed the way the two interacted and how they worked their way from being wary platonic compatriots to lovers to are we or are we not in a relationship??

After getting married to help accomplish their goals Garrett distances himself and Natalie works on getting her niece since that was her reason for being in this relationship. While they fake it for the cameras and family, the chemistry builds for them and they eventually work to a personal relationship. I really enjoyed Garrett's family as well, his sister seems like an interesting woman and I can't wait for the developing stories in the series. Garrett has *as all the reluctant protags in these romances do* a few moments where he does the stupidest thing ever that risks the relationship and family. Natalie doesn't make it easy for him and I loved the grand gesture.

This is one of the first times I can personally remember reading a romance featuring two Korean characters and I loved it. I will definitely be adding Jayci into the rotation of must follow authors.

Temporary Wife Temptation (Heir of Hansol 1)
Happy Reading my loves,

A marriage of convenience, a child adoption hanging on a promotion and this marriage, A rift in the family dynasty, a powerful chemistry between two people. What do these plot points have in common? They are the basis for Temporary Wife Temptation. We are introduced to Garrett Song and Natalie Sobol, two powerful individuals who can't help but feel the electric energy that pulls them together. Can this marriage stay as artificial as they want or will their desire for each other mix business with pleasure?

Garrett Song is your charismatic man from a family of wealth. Slated to become the new CEO of his family's company, he will do what he has to to make sure everything falls in line. Everything, expect an arranged marriage. When Garrett's grandmother proposes this proposition, Garrett will not let her control who he marries. His plan: marry someone else before his grandmother can do anything to stop it. His ambitious spirit and hidden warm heart will make you swoon for him. His relationship with Natalie is magnetic and feels real. You find yourself rooting for everything to work out for them and with them.

Natalie Sobol is a powerful, tough as nails woman with a heart of gold when it comes to her niece. Fighting for custody of her niece, Natalie's focus is on getting that prized promotion and a husband. It's strictly business for her because those factors will help her custody case. I admired her entire character. She was caring, ambitious, determined and ready to make dreams happen, even if it meant marrying the guy she would least expect marrying. Although their marriage seems to be of convenience, Natalie cannot omit the fact that she is deeply attracted to the future CEO of Hansol Industries. Will her passion and goal drive her to rethink her decision?

Overall, this book was amazing! The romance felt real, the story line kept you wanting to turn the page to see what scheme/trouble/scenario Natalie and Garrett would find themselves in. You read carefully hoping each passionate kiss, each lustful stare would bring them closer together. Without spoilers, I will say this, you won't want to put this book down. You'll follow along as Natalie and Garrett put everything in line, including their hearts to make this marriage work and impress those into believing their love is real.

Temporary Wife Temptation was a fantastic book. This was the first book I have read by this author, but it will not be the last.

I do love a modern-day marriage-of-convenience trope and this is in my top ten that I have read in that trope.

This book is an example of why I LOVE the romance genre and always will.

This book has everything, including smoking hot scenes!!!!!

This is one not to miss!

This book is like any of my favorite Korean dramas that I’ve watched and enjoyed in the past, so I was absolutely hooked into this novel from page one! Natalie is a hardworking woman who takes her career very seriously and she wants to make the best life for her niece so she can gain custody of her. Garrett is the heir to the Hansol Company but wants to pave his own way. His grandmother wants him to marry a chaebol heiress. And so the two enter in a marriage of convenience. Its got all the romance tropes i know and love with funny lines such as:

"Natalie sighed, bone-deep tired from being lonely. This had to be the most unromantic wedding night in the history of contract marriages. In the romance novels she read, the fake couples at least played chess or watched Die Hard together."

Temporary Wife Temptation reads very quickly and is overall and entertaining romance. I liked that while Natalie and Garrett are dealing with their budding romance they also help each other with their grief. Both are struggling with the loss of a close family member. They do realize that they pain doesn’t go away, but they can help each other gain strength to heal from the pain. Another fun aspects of this novel is that the cat and mouse game between the couple. The witty banter, and flirtatious looks had me hooked into the romance. The attraction was always there but seeing the two fall for each other was incredibly sweet.

This book was a joy from beginning to end! I enjoyed the characters, and the way the romance developed. I can’t wait to read more from Jayci lee!

A well written book I loved the cover. The first book in the Heirs of Hansol series, and as the first story (and the debut), Garrett and Natalie pack a very powerful emotional punch… even when those emotions are hidden behind very high personal walls.

Oh my freaking gosh!

I was kind of getting younger bad boy Daniel Dae Kim vibes for some reason? Like, couldn’t you imagine if this book was written when Kim was in his late 20s or even early 30s and it was adapted into a movie and then he got to play Garrett Song? Ughhhhh I can’t even handle it.

That’s how much I loved this book, okay? Like, I swear Lee is about to be one of my favorite authors now and I need to know more about this series. I can’t believe this is the first one, only! Like, I need more immediately. I also need to stop saying “like” all the time, but whatever. I’m too freaking excited by this novel.

I won’t lie either, I also love that our main characters are Asian, because for me I rarely see that in the book world, especially without them being side characters. Well, yeah I guess that’s the point of me calling them the main characters, but for real. I was so into Garrett and the Song family. I could feel the kind of familial obligation that he has to take over the family business, and be the perfect son. Not just to the public eye, but to his family legacy as well. I totally get that, even though I’m not as well to do as the Songs are.

Then the pressure of having to start a family too, in order to continue the legacy again. Again it’s about the family, bringing honor to the family and making sure that the family is going to be in a positive light as much as possible. It only makes sense that Garrett would result to having a fake wife in order to get his family off his back. Ugh and the steaminess that comes from this arrangement? Priceless.

I love fake relationship stories!!! And this one was super cute!!
I adored all the characters!!! The writing is great and the story is wonderful!

Garrett and Natalie’s romance had instant chemistry but their relationship builds slowly.
Natalie is strong heroine, capable of going head to head with Garrett, who is very much an alpha hero.

Overall, the story is an interesting and entertaining one, with complex characters who grow over the course of the story.

This was such a great debut romance from Jayci Lee.
The family dynamics and cultural context are well described and I’m looking forward to reading about some of the secondary characters in future books by this author.

I would love to thank Harlequin, NetGalley and the author for providing me with a copy of this amazing book. This has in no way affected my views or opinions of the book or the content of my review

This is a great fast paced romance. Because it is so short, there are definitely pieces that I wish had been longer. I really enjoyed the Korean backstory and I look forward to more from Jayci Lee.

-Big thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review.-

Temporary Wife Temptation is book one of the Heirs of Hansol series, and the debut book of this author, which obviously means that this is my first book from Ms. Lee. It was a good one, actually, but it has a few details that didn’t make the story a great one. In the second third of the book, the narration becomes a little wobbly, making the dialogues sound forced. Also, I was expecting to know more about the secondary characters in this book. Not because they’re essential for the plot but, as the message written by Ms. Lee says we could “fell in love with the colorful secondary characters”. Something I didn’t because I didn’t knew them! Only two sentences about Garrett's cousin? Who I don’t remember his name, by the way. That said, the author did a good job getting the attention of the reader at the moment of looking forward the rest of the series. I’m intrigued about that cousin and Adelaide, for sure.

The best of this story are the main characters. When both hero and heroine are together, they’re pure dinamite. Their chemistry is palpable and really hot. They don’t need to share a bed to be explosive together. And that’s what I liked more about this book and this couple: they don’t have sex just to scratch an itch. They sweat sex with only staring each other, but they have sex with a meaning.

Secondary characters, besides Garrett’s family, are impeccable. Ms. Kim is simply perfect. I want a neighbor like that! Sophie and her grandparents are what they needed to be, supporting actors without overshadow the hero and heroine.

The ending is marvelous. An unexpected twist that could be predictable for some people but for this story worked perfectly. I recommend this book and I will look forward for the rest of the series.

Temporary Wife Temptation is the other book I chose to do for this tour set and if that wasn’t enough of a disclaimer, the publisher sent me a free book to read and review for my site and that doesn’t influence my rating whatsoever because I take after my great-grandmother, I’m an opinionated woman with a big mouth.

I liked reading Temporary Wife Temptation , it was a quick, entertaining read that had just the right amount of spice to it to keep me interested in the story. We have Garrett Song and Natalie Sobol who are both super attracted to each other and, y’all, we get the marriage of convenience trope. That’s a good trope. Garrett needs an out from a surprise arranged marriage and the bonus of a wife who can wow the business contacts is great. And Natalie needs a promotion so she can adopt her orphaned niece. A deal is struck, a nice celibate deal. *cue the evil laughter*

There were parts of this that I didn’t like and some that I will fight for. I loved the mix of Garrett’s traditional Korean background and Natalie’s only access to her heritage being what she gleans from KDramas (girl, same, dramas connect us with what our parents didn’t give us) and how they were brought up a lot. Natalie didn’t know wedding traditions or how to wear a hanbok but between Garrett’s sister, Adelaide, and her neighbour, Mrs Kim, she manages to find her feet. I did not like the time jumps. A day or two is one thing, but the passing of time is problematic for me as it is so I do not like having major time skips in my stories. And we missed out on the awkward roommate vibes, which I love. So, boo.

Overall I’m giving Temporary Wife Temptation 4 stars and 3 flames. I didn’t get bored reading this or dredge my way through reading it and I can’t wait to read Adelaide’s story in the Fall! I hope y’all give Temporary Wife Temptation a try!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review through Net Galley.

I truly enjoyed the protagonist in this novel. I was sucked into the cultural clashes that our main character was facing. I went into this book not knowing much about it and I'm glad that I did.

The book pulls at some heartstrings because we know that she is trying to follow her heart even though it might tear the relationship with her parents. The author did this book so eloquently and cute at the same time.

I would highly recommend this book to all lovers of romance and to anyone trying to add good quality diversity to their reading.

My first read featuring Korean Americans written by a Korean American. So well done, bringing in enough cultural input to feel authentic to me without it become the crux of the story. And the steam, wooo-wee, this is steamy. I could read this again and again.

Natalie Sobol has just become the temporary Vice President of Human Resources at the Hansol Company, a fashion company run by the Song family. She would really like to make this her permanent position as it will help her to secure the future of her niece who she is trying to adopt. One of her first duties of the job is to have the soon-to-be CEO, Garrett Song to sign his transfer paperwork. Even though they have communicated with each other via email and over the phone, they have never met each other in person and she is not disappointed when she does. The feeling is mutual on Garrett's side as well. When Garrett finds that marrying through an arranged marriage is a condition of him becoming CEO, he tells his grandmother that he has already found a wife. Marrying Natalie could help them both, but will they be able to just pretend to be married, or will it lead to something more?

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This book I read in 24 hours. I had to see what was going to happen with Natalie and Garrett. Even though they are initially attracted to each other, being married, but secretly not really wanting to be is proving harder than they anticipated. They spend a lot of time at home, so that they aren't seen together, but that doesn't work all the time. When they are together, people can see their chemistry.

This was a cute couple who liked to live by their own rules. Garrett is used to having a different woman in his bed, but with Natalie, he is not longer interested. There is something about her that is nothing like other women he knows. I really enjoyed this love story and I am looking forward to reading more books by Jayci Lee.

Despite a slow start that almost made me quit, this story developed into the heartwarming tale of Garrett and Nathalie. I wish more details had been provided about what exactly happened between Garrett and his ex fiance. The level of devastation it caused him seemed out sized for a "she wanted money more than me" type of situation. In any case, this was a nice distraction on a lazy day. Thank you for this copy.

I thoroughly enjoyed TWT, with its marriage of convenience slash office romance. I loved the glimpse into Korean culture and the prospect of more books to come (I can't wait for Adelaide's story). It was sexy and smart with the right touch of emotional. I liked that both main characters had compelling backstories and were likable in general. I'm excited to read more from Jayci Lee! 3.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

I finally read my first Harlequin Series romance, and I really enjoyed it a lot. I was always a little apprehensive about these books, I thought they wouldn’t be long enough or the story wouldn’t hold my attention. But Temporary Wife Temptation proved me wrong, and just LOOK at that cover! I’m loving the new redesign of the Harlequin books.

I’ve learned the way to my heart is to hook me with one of my favorite tropes, marriage of convenience and bonus points for this one having a great Korean representation with the characters too! Natalie and Garrett hooked me pretty quickly into the story, since it’s so short I was surprised that it did feel more like a slow burn.

There’s a bit of steam, but it doesn’t happen for quite a while! I loved that it was set in LA and it even had a scene in one of my favorite places, Ojai! Since this was my first Harlequin Series, it did feel a little short to me overall and the ending felt somewhat rushed. I think a full length book might have been able to flesh some of the questions I had at the end a little better. But I’m so excited that this is a series and the next book will be about Garrett’s sister. Temporary Wife Temptation was the perfect way for me to dive into Harlequin Series books! 3.75 stars (upgraded to four for rating)

Just didn’t click with this book as much as I wanted to. It was leaning into the All Men/All Women territory that puts me off.

I’ve said it before, and I am sure I’ll say it again: sometimes you just need a brain break. Harlequin (and its different imprints) are quickly becoming my favorite go-to for such books. This one was no exception. The plot was straightforward and to the point, a fairly typical “need a wife/business associate” story. I liked the details regarding Korean traditions, and how both main characters wanted to respect their heritage while trying to make the situation work. Nothing deep, just entertainment here. Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for a pre-release digital ARC of the book.
