Natalie just wants to adopt her niece after her sister passed away, when a promotion at work comes up she knows she's perfect for the job and she's willing to do whatever it takes... even fake marrying her boss.

Garrett has sworn never to fall in love because he doesn't want to end up like his father. He just wants to be CEO of the company his grandparents built. But his grandmama has other plans when she tells him she has a wife picked out for him. He refuses, telling her he already has a fiancée... problem is he doesn't have one.

When Garrett and Natalie run into each other at a club, Garrett asks her to be his fake wife. The only catch, it's over when they both have what they want. It seems simple enough, right? But desire can be hard to ignore...

No secret baby trope!!!! I love Harlequin novels but they use the secret baby or pregnancy trope way too much. I hate those tropes with a passion! But this novel is clear of them! Thank God!

The writing is great, the story is wonderful, and I love the cover so much that I swoon just looking at it. I have nothing bad to say about this novel. NOTHING! It's a perfect little read that I will hold close to my heart. It's probably going to be a top read for me this year. That's how good it is! If you love romance and the trope of fake wedding/fake dating, this is for you!

This book is spectacular! From the cover to Garrett and Natalie, and then knowing there will be more books with his family...it's just the best! I love a fake engagement/marriage story and this one is done so very well. I can't wait to not only read more in the series, but more from this author as well!

Besides the amazing cover (the hero is so shockingly good looking, I mean jaw-dropping here, and the beautiful white clothes help this cover transcend the typical romance cover), the story is engrossing, the characters attractive and likable, well done, Jayci Lee, I will certainly look for your books in the future!

Great 👍 book. This was a FABULOUS story of people who didn't know they need each other. Introducing Garrett Song, heir to Hansol Incorporated and Natalie Sobol Interim VP of Human Resources @ Hansol. Garrett need a wife to secure the CEO position and Natalie need a husband to gain custody of her niece and from their life happens. 👍 book, characters, plot, and cultural information. By the way, Garrett if Korean and Natalie is half Korean and both characters lost their mothers early in life.

This book is the debut for Jayci Lee, the series is The Heirs of Hansol, the second installment in September 2020.

I didn't know this writer and I loved her style. I'm a fan of romances as well as cliches with a great resolution and good dialogues, the connection between the couple is great, and a very cute ending give me everything that i want and need.

A well written book I loved the cover. The first book in the Heirs of Hansol series, and as the first story (and the debut), Garrett and Natalie pack a very powerful emotional punch… even when those emotions are hidden behind very high personal walls.

Oh my freaking gosh!

I was kind of getting younger bad boy Daniel Dae Kim vibes for some reason? Like, couldn’t you imagine if this book was written when Kim was in his late 20s or even early 30s and it was adapted into a movie and then he got to play Garrett Song? Ughhhhh I can’t even handle it.

That’s how much I loved this book, okay? Like, I swear Lee is about to be one of my favorite authors now and I need to know more about this series. I can’t believe this is the first one, only! Like, I need more immediately. I also need to stop saying “like” all the time, but whatever. I’m too freaking excited by this novel.

I won’t lie either, I also love that our main characters are Asian, because for me I rarely see that in the book world, especially without them being side characters. Well, yeah I guess that’s the point of me calling them the main characters, but for real. I was so into Garrett and the Song family. I could feel the kind of familial obligation that he has to take over the family business, and be the perfect son. Not just to the public eye, but to his family legacy as well. I totally get that, even though I’m not as well to do as the Songs are.

Then the pressure of having to start a family too, in order to continue the legacy again. Again it’s about the family, bringing honor to the family and making sure that the family is going to be in a positive light as much as possible. It only makes sense that Garrett would result to having a fake wife in order to get his family off his back. Ugh and the steaminess that comes from this arrangement? Priceless.

Such a good story. Well written, well defined characters, great background data. I absolutely loved all the cultural references and the importance is plays. It was refreshing to read about the family dynamics, friendships, and the quest to be CEO. I recommend this author, and will definitely read books by her again. Can’t wait to read the 2nd book in the series.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a Harlequin romance and clearly I should have been reading their Desire line instead of their Presents line. Temporary Wife Temptation was a fully-fleshed out story and I want more! Garrett and Natalie have different reasons for needing a temporary marriage but they both stem around the importance of family relationships. What I especially liked was the bonds between Natalie and her niece and Garrett and his family. They both know love even if they are a little afraid to take a risk on it themselves. The relationship between Garrett and Natalie quickly grew from one of convenience to one of friendship and support and from there into love. Their support for each other and the lack of drama until the end made for an even more enjoyable book. I would definitely recommend it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Garett Song is SO close to taking over as the CEO of his family fashion empire in LA until his grandmother insists he agrees to her arranged marriage first. Determined to find his own wife, Garett strikes a deal with Natalie Sobol, the interim VP of HR at his company, who has her own agenda for agreeing to this fake marriage. What starts off as an act soon turns into real feelings ...

Anyone a fan of Korean dramas? I felt like this was a Korean drama in book form minus the usual antagonist. This book is a fun, sexy, and quick paced romance. I made the mistake of starting it at 9pm and then staying up way too late to finish it. I haven't read too many romance novels with asian characters so I was really excited to read this one and it definitely did not disappoint. The characters are likable and you get a glimpse into the Korean culture. Looking forward to the next book in the series!

Garrett Song is close to taking over his family's fashion empire when his grandmother tells him that she will announce his engagement to a woman of her choosing at the same time that he is announced as CEO. He rebels against that, claiming that he already has a fiancee, and lands on Natalie Sobol, poised to become the vice president of Human Resources at the company. She needs a fake marriage just as much as he does if she is to formally adopt her niece. While they can agree on a fake marriage, there is a very real attraction between them both.

I was drawn to Temporary Wife Temptation because there are two (!!) Asian main characters on a Harlequin romance novel. It's not something that I had been used to growing up, and I was overjoyed to see that there is a lot more diversity in publishing now. There are some features of this that are purely Asian, in that Garrett's grandmother fully expects him to follow her instructions to the letter because she is his elder, and there are strict hierarchies within the elite Korean families. That's a nuance that might not necessarily be there in modern Caucasian romances, but is still very much alive and well in Asian cultures. It's all explained in the text, so that non-Asian readers will understand the magnitude of Garrett's rebellion and desire to forge his own path.

As with all romcoms, we have the situations that are all but guaranteed to not only showcase how much the two main characters are attracted to each other, but how well they complement each other. They meet with the social worker, Natalie meets Garrett's family, there are work meetings and schmoozing with other company bigwigs to solidify plans for the family company. This being an Asian fashion company, we also have a spa day! Of course, there are obstacles that would push Natalie and Garrett apart, and it would have to force Garrett to understand that living a life in isolation with a closed-off heart isn't one worth living. We have our happily ever after, and I truly am happy for them.

Where do I start? Ok, maybe start by turning the A/C on when you read this book because the chemistry between the two characters is completely off the chart. The concept of the book where two characters marry for quid pro quo and then fall in love isn’t new. I actually like this trope, but what I particularly enjoyed is the Korean culture mixed to the story and the characters’ personality and moral. Both of the characters have high level positions but remain somehow down to earth. They value family, traditions (to a certain extent) and have a strong sense of responsibility.

Though they start the fake relationship only to help each other’s predicaments, the mutual attraction is already palpable from the start. The author does a wonderful job at building it up to the point that you can see steam coming out of the pages. This book guarantees swooning, hot, and heartbreaking moments. The ending isn’t what I expected, which is a good thing even if I would have given one of the characters a harder time for what happened. That’s a personal opinion. In the end, if you’re looking for a quick read and steamy romance, do yourself a favor and go read this one. 😊

When I got an email from Harlequin, asking to join a Blog Tour, I squealed with delight and signed up for a few of the books. I was so excited. I love to read good books and make no effort to disguise my love of romance now that I have gotten older. I enjoy them, they are a quick read and I am able to relax while reading them and not have to worry about strenuous plot lines.

Natalie needs a promotion at work and a miracle from above to contest the adoption of her young niece. Garrett is being forced into an arranged marriage set up by his Grandmother. In a panic, he tells her he already has a fiance. He enlists Natalie to be his fiance giving her in return the stability and promotion that she needs to adopt her niece. I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and steamy in all the right places. It kept my attention and I wanted to find out if they will actually fall in love and actually stay married. Yes, notoriously they will stay together and discover that they love each other but not all the time.

The main characters are also Asian which is something that I don’t see all that often in romances. Not that I am all-knowing when it comes to that, but this is the first one that I have encountered. I could relate to Natalie. Wanting to do what is best for her niece, the pain that she experienced when her niece was injured had me tearing up. I was nervous right along with her. I just wanted to will her niece to be ok. The family dynamics are also relatable you have the meddling sister who wants to help and is in your business. You have the best friend that is like a brother and tells you what he thinks without worrying you will never talk to him again. The one other thing that really bothered me was the Grandmother dynamic with the family. It was her way or the highway. I know what it was a cultural thing but it still bothered me. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more books by this author and certainly keeping an eye out for the second book in the series.
