I am very, very sad. This review copy was highly anticipated and I am use to typos and format errors with digital copies. Unfortunately, this one was so bad, I could not read this copy. I will be buying a copy because I am very interested in the concept. I am unable to leave a review without mentioning this is of no fault of the authors.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this but it did not disappoint. Exceeded my expectations & I’d recommend to anyone who wants a refreshing change.

Not worth the read, I actually read about 20% then skimmed to the end.

Hannah is a teacher, a mother and a secret erotic fiction writer. In the midst of the release of her book, Hannah must write a second, while teaching and being a mom. She has a hard time managing everything and an even harder time finding inspiration for the book, leading her on a quest to try and find her sexy.

This book was quite boring and one dimensional. None of the characters were interesting, in fact Hannah’s mother and daughter were especially horrible. The plot was lacking, going between this book writing and parenting. Both of which Hannah failed at. The story just lacked everything and missed the mark. I didn’t find it funny and I didn’t want to read about Hannah parenting. She complained a ton and it was just cringey and embarrassing.

This is a sequel to More Than Just Mum. Hannah has just published her first book of humorous erotica. Now she has to do write a sequel, because readers want more. But nobody must know about her writing erotica, except her husband Nick, her mother and her best friend Cassie.
Hannah is a lovely person. Her life is so busy that I feel queasy just reading about it. She sends her son Dylan to uni and misses him and wonders if he'll manage without his mum. Her daughter Scarlet is quite a handful. And ten year old Benji is just adorable, but a handful too, in his own way. And Nick has his own hands full with Betty the Land Rover. On top of all that Hannah is writing a novel and trying to find her inner sex goddess.
At first I had a hard time getting in the book. But all of a sudden everything just clicked. This is a funny story and I giggled while reading. It could have been a little bit shorter though. Hannah's inner thoughts take over a big portion of the book. But I must admit her thoughts are funny. This book is about being a mum, wife, teacher and writer. It portrays life in its fullest. The author has a knack of writing about funny moments in a life.
Thank you NetGalley and One More Chapter for a copy of this book.

Hooked from the very first chapter, I found this book got better and better the deeper I delved into it. I loved the premise (a teacher writing erotica is oh so real!) and her struggle to juggle so many parts of her life definitely struck a chord. As did her depiction of her children and her family life.

The 'sex' scene at the very beginning had me nodding my head in agreement, and then howling with laughter.

But it is the main character's self-discovery that was the best bit for me.

Loved it.

This book is not quite as expected. I went in looking for a steamy laugh out loud take on the behind the scenes of an erotica author, what we found was the story of a woman trying to juggle life as a mom, wife, teacher, and an aspiring writer.

It was fun, cute and a dose of the reality of life and I loved seeing the MC evolve and find herself through the story.

this was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 for me.

thank you Netgalley, author and publishing company for the ARC.

Although I hadn’t read the first book I thought I’d give this a go anyway and I’m so glad I did. It’s such a heart felt read & it’s safe to say I snorted laughing a few times. If you fancy a happy easy read this is for you.

Hannah is juggling motherhood, being a wife, teaching and a newly published author. Thinking her life is too boring for someone who writes erotic fiction she decides to take a walk on the wild side and explore her sexuality to get over her writers block. All this while hiding her secret author identity.

I did laugh a few times while reading this, however it I didn’t really love it.

This was my first time reading and reviewing anything by Rebecca Smith.
I'm one that is all for a cute rom-com set in London and this one was a cute story of working mother and wife who found herself to becoming a erotic author who needs to come up with a 2nd book. She is a quirky not so self confident women who thinks she needs to find her inner self goddess.
I did find myself struggling to get into this book and it took me quit longer than normal to finish this book but I did and I'm glad that I did so I can give an honest review.
Even tho this book wasn't quit my cup of tea , this wasn't a bad story at all .. just not really my style.
There are funny parts in this story, there is self discovery and mother daughter relationship theme.
It does lack steam and hotness to be honest.

The overall book was just okay. The characters weren’t all that fleshed out except for the main character Hannah and I found her whiny and annoying for the first half of the book. The beginning of the book dragged so much I almost DNF’d it so many times but I kept pushing through waiting for it to pick up. It didn’t. There were a lot of what I would call filler scenes that were not necessary to the overall story/plot that should have been cut out. I’m pretty sure they were in there just to bring up the word count. I would have enjoyed this so much more if this was focused more on Hannah’s alter ego Twinky. That said I hated the name Twinky. I mean I just could not take that seriously and frankly the name is not sexy at all. I did have some laugh out loud moments towards the end. The second half of the book was definitely an improvement over the beginning. However, not enough to bump up my rating. I ending up rating this two stars. It was underwhelming and nothing in this to make it stand out from other books in the genre with similar themes.

I was really looking forward to read this book. I thought it’d be an inside look into the mind and life of a romance author.
Unfortunately, the story dragged out and was not very well-paced.
Besides the flow being way off for me, I just didn’t really like the characters. Hannah was the heroine, but was just okay.

Such a fun new concept! Loved the beginning of the book. The middle kind of lost me and I felt like there was a lot of fluff and it gave me too much time skip pages and sections. The humor was on point. I loved the banter. Overall this book was just okay for me.

First of all big thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for this ARC.

The story centers around Hannah who is trying to be a mother, teacher and finding inspiration for her next erotica book.
It was really hard trying to finish this book. Too many things bothered me and it was difficult making myself finishing it.
Or my expectations were high? Because a lot of great books are coming from NetGalley and a book really does have to stand out.

The thing I am mostly hoping will get a good check and update from editors - grammar errors, words where I couldn't figure the beginning and the end of them, paragraphs that didn't end normally, clipped on some bizarre words without figuring out what the hell was going on.

As for the story itself - it's 2020 right? Why on Earth do we have to be ashamed of anything today, especially if you live in a developed country?!?! I know that it's not easy overcoming your fears and I understand the difficulties that the main character went through but due to her negativity of something she considers is an issue is simply laughable today.

The development of the story was so slowly agonizing. I wanted to leave the book a couple of times because the pace just didn't pick up and it was too, too slow for a theme that needs to throw out ideas and thinking of the characters as quickly as possible so we the readers can get engrossed with the story.

No dramatic moments, no quick pace that keeps you hooked and no characters that you can love. That was the saddest part for me. :/ If I have only just one character that I can relate to and like - be it positive or negative or somewhere in the gray zone is great.

The whole relationship of Hannah with her family and things she lets her daughter get away with as well as her constant insecurity about things as her own sexuality are the things that discouraged me from giving this book a better review.

Faking It is an absolute delight; funny (so funny!) and utterly charming. It was *such* fun to read and I loved it! I only wish US publishers would start picking up books like Faking It. There's such a market and at the bookstore, I'd love to be able to sell this instead of telling customers they can order it through Book Depository! And at the library it would be lovely to have a more modern collection of lighter women's fiction (aka "chick-lit")

I liked it, but i feel that some characters were a bit flat. I did find it a bit funny as well but there was some points where i was confused with where the story was going but eventually it all came together.

If you are looking for some girl power vibes with some laughs, this book is for you. I love how the author took on the subject of getting older and different stages of life and was honest and real about them. Plus, the angry wasps part will have your in stitches .

This book was provided to me as an #ARC by NetGalley, HarperCollins Publishers and Rebecca Smith - free of charge for an honest review.

What does a mom who is endlessly worried about her kids, feeling tired, unsexy, over-worked, and stressed out do when she feels she's at the make-or-break turning point of life? She writes an erotic fiction novel under a kinky pseudonym, of course!!! ""Faking It"" is the relatable story of middle-aged motherhood/wife hood/tired hood. The story follows Hannah Thompson as she navigates the seeming disintegration of her marriage, sending her oldest child to university, butting heads with her teenage daughter, trying to secretly promote her erotic novel and struggling to channel her inner Sex Goddess while writing Book Two. It's a fun, funny, insightful, unique look into the life of a middle-aged mom who says ""I refuse to fade away"".

I loved this book! As a mom and wife nearing middle age (gulp) I felt that Hannah could have been me. It was fun to read the awkward (relatable) struggles of motherhood/wifehood. This is an easy, fun read and I am looking forward to reading more from Rebecca Smith!

Looking for a fun, light book? This is a quick read that will have you laughing and occasionally shaking your head and booty.

This is a cute topic especially for all of us mother's. It kept me laughing with relatable characters in real world situations. Sometimes I squirmed others I relished the freedom. Thank you Netgalley for my ARC copy of this story.
