War and Peas is always a hit or miss with me having read some of their stuff online previously. Some of their stuff I find very humorous, other times I'm disgusted? with their work (disgusted seems to harsh here, but it's what I'm going with). I do find the art to be funny in it's simplicity, and I like the continual story lines. This is one of those that you have to read a few for yourself and see if you're willing to commit to the whole book.

I loved this book! It was a hilarious and fun read. I would highly recommend it for anyone with a dark sense of humor.

I thought this was a great collection of comics. They were all funny, and I found the writing to be spot on. I kind of wished there were some essays in which the authors talk about the themes behind some of these topics (like the other comic books that have recently been released), but overall, I was quite happy with the book.

This is great for those who are already fans of the War and Peas comics as well as those who love dark humor mixed with nerdy and feminist humor for adults. For those who don't enjoy such humor, this wouldn't be a good fit. The book is a quick read but very fun.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Finally a comic that isnt all smushy and cute. It very much appealed to my twisted sense of humour.

A collection of four-panel gag comics which at first appear to stand alone, but gradually stitch together into something more. Not only do characters such as the first sentient robot, the dog who's tired of being a good boy, the grim reaper and the slutty witch recur, but their next appearance will build on the punchline of their previous one, and occasionally they even cross over. Who knew the mania for shared universes would run so far? And it is definitely something closer to that than the usual comic strip gang structure. Also, they're very funny, or at least I thought so, certainly measured by the metric of how many you want to show the poor sod who's in the room while you're reading them. And there's even one about what to do if they don't agree! Absurdist, wry, often quite dark without being tritely edgy; very much up my street, though as ever with humour it shouldn't need saying that YMMV.

Okay, this book had the unlucky fate that I read this right after the Awkward Yeti which is a very tough competition and this book just could not compete.

I actually did not realise I knew this artist before but while reading this I realised that I knew so many of the strips which was not very good. (I stated several times before that I do prefer if these online arts to a book have more new content than what was previously posted online). Which is actually rather strange since I could not find a media where I would be following the artist.
And Honestly, I maybe chuckled once while reading this, very disappointed. This book did not seem to have a theme, something to tie the strips together. So, it was a bit content dump. While I can understand that some of the comics were not my kind of humour but sometimes I even struggled to see what was supposed to be funny there.

In the end, I was mostly skimming through since I did not want to DNF this one.

Unfortunately, I was unable to view this book on my computer. I'm so sorry. I was really looking forward to it. Thank you for the opportunity to read it!

A quick read, and a great introduction to a funny comic.
Consistently interesting, sometimes thought provoking, I found myself telling my spouse about some of the comics that made me think about things differently.
This book is good, but I don't know that I'll re-read it... I would buy it as a gift, and then follow War and Peas on Instagram (oh wait I did that).

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC, in exchange for an honest review. Ok, so I already love War and Peas, and clearly I have need of this wonderful book in both my personal and our libraries collection. Dark, twisted, witty comics that will have you chuckling out-loud. Yes, you will indeed chuckle aloud when reading this, beware, I realize this is almost a dead notion. How dare we express joy and agreement? I truly can't wait to get our copy so that I can read it, chuckle aloud in our somewhat peaceful library and then show them cover with a very grim reaper and a very slutty witch!

I loved this collection of comics — they are hilarious and sneakily subversive. I had not read this web comic before but I am a fan now.

First of all, I'm very thankful for having been able to read this as an ARC.

I read it all in one sitting. It was truly funny. I found myself laughing out loud multiple times. The short comic format made it super easy to read, and I loved the dark humour throughout it.
Completely recommended to anyone who wants to have a fun time.

I loved the graphics and the cute stories! Obviously some of the stories require a dark sense of humor, but if you can appreciate that then you'll love this short read!

I really liked the witch and death comics but everything else was eh. I think people who like the comic on instagram will enjoy this but I was personally not impressed with this collection.

The art is super cute though.

Unfortunately, this is nothing special. Some parts are funny, but many of the jokes that are in here, I've already seen done before in the comic form or just as a random tweet floating on the internet. The part which is nicely done are the reoccurring "storylines" and the jokes build on the previous ones. It is not the worst picture book I've ever read, but it is not the best one either.

I feel like I've been in a slump lately with ARCs. While I thank Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review this one, it just wasn't my cup of tea. The illustrations were simple but funny. The comics, on the other hand, were nothing special. It was like reading stale jokes on my Facebook timeline. 1 star, sadly.
