Meeting with Jesus by David Murray is all about Jesus. I love the heart behind this reading plan--it emphasizes the character of Christ, the importance of community, and asking questions of the Word. It's a great book that will establish habits that will last a lifetime.

Meeting with Jesus by David Murray is an awesome Bible reading plan for children that teaches them about Jesus and takes them through the four Gospels. This is a six day Bible reading plan. My children and I have thoroughly enjoyed going through this book and have learned so much. This has presented us with the opportunity for more open dialogue, questions and discussions between my children and I. This has helped us all to grow in our faith and understanding of Jesus.
The books description says:
Following up his popular book Exploring the Bible, David Murray has written a new reading plan for children that focuses on Jesus Christ. This volume walks kids through the story of Jesus in the Gospels over the course of a year. Each of the 52 weekly "meetings with Jesus" teaches a new truth about Jesus through 6 days of Bible reading and includes interactive reflection questions, space for prayer and application, memory verses, and lines for sermon notes. In less than 5 minutes a day, children will get to know Jesus and his offer of abundant life.
I think this would make a great gift for any child who is thinking about salvation. This would be great for Sunday school teachers to work through with their class.

Meeting with Jesus is a year-long Bible reading plan for children that helps Jesus "pop out on every page" as they read the Bible for themselves, listen to sermons, and talk with other Christians. This plan takes children mainly through the Gospel of Luke but supplements with readings from the other Gospels. Each week, children are encouraged to read a Bible passage and answer questions, note prayer requests, memorize verses, take sermon notes, and discuss what they are learning with their parents or Christian friends. This seems to be age appropriate for elementary kids and I know some kids I want to give this reading plan to.

Meeting Jesus thru the bible is the premise of this bible study for elementary age and up. This bible reading plan is for the whole year and I would suggest doing this as a family devotion. I appreciate the layout of this book. It is organized and simple and will draw your family deeper in the word of God as community.

Each day starts with a few sentences of how we will meet Jesus for the week. Then with a space for prayer called Talking to Jesus: Prayer points, there is ample room for prayer. A second space is Remembering Jesus- A verse is given to write out and to memorize. Each day you are given a verse with a title "Jesus is Anointed" This is followed by a question that you have ample room to write out. Each day is like that and it ends with Sunday. Talking about Jesus that asks the question about your faith. Then there is room for your child to take notes on the Sunday Sermon.

This study is a tool to help your child desire the Lord but also as a family. As a family, together, the verses become a mining field of knowing Jesus and the wonderful salvation that we have when we place our faith in His work. Knowing his work of salvation will strengthen your child's faith and your relationship as well. Highly Highly Recommend.
