Fast paced, but a bit too campy for me. Some of the plot was unrealistic. I never got fully invested in the relationships. It was good bit didn’t completely work for me.

Thank you, NetGalley for an opportunity to read The Wife Who Knew Too Much.
Great thriller with a well-developed plot and characters. This is my first book from this author but it will definitely not be the last. What I like in the mystery, suspense, and thriller books that this book offered is the ending no one could see coming. Keep up the good work!

Wow. Just wow. This had some twists I didn’t see coming. The writing was beautiful . I didn’t get bored with the characters.

A domestic thriller perfect for fans of shockingly twisted thrillers. I had no idea all the twists and turns that were coming - this was entirely unpredictable (and I pride myself on being able to predict thriller twists). Michele Campbell has cemented herself as a must read author for me!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Tabitha and Connor have a history; however, as time moves on Tabitha lives an a simple life as a waitress and Connor has moved onto marrying a much older wealthy woman named Nina.
One day they cross paths again and he declares that he has never stopped loving her. The only thing in the way is his wife and the prenup that if he cheats on her or leaves her, he gets nothing.
As Connor is trying to find a way to leave Nina, she ends up dead from an apparent suicide.
As things unfold, Tabitha starts to question it it was really a suicide. Can she trust Connor? Tabitha ends up the number 1 suspect when they find out about the affair.
This was suspenseful and good in spots, but didn't hold my attention for long periods of time, so it felt like a chore to finish.

An overall good thriller. Very engaging & many twists & turns. I liked Tabitha & the way her mind worked. Definitely recommend.
I would like to thank NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much
I received one of Michele Campbell's novels from Netgalley before, so when The Wife Who Knew Too Much came up to review, it was suggested to me. I had liked "Stranger on the Beach" so much that I accepted this one hoping I'd like it as well.
I've never claimed I am a classy reader. I love books that are tacky and dramatic. I can't get enough of the ones that read like Lifetime movies. I don't care if they're predictable. I even compared "Stranger on the Beach" to a Lifetime movie. "The Wife Who Knew Too Much" is no different. It even has a Lifetime name.
Tabitha met the love of her life the summer she turned 17. Handsome Connor, a member of the country club where she worked noticed Tabby and for a short time, she thought their summer fling would end with forever. Instead it ended with heartbreak.
Tabitha moved on with her life, until the day he reappeared in her life, handsome as ever. Connor seems just as happy to see her, and tells her of his unhappy marriage, how he's never forgotten their summer, and just like that, it's like all those years apart never happened. Then, Nina, his beautiful, extremely wealthy wife is found dead, possibly of suicide.
Tabitha quickly marries Connor and moves into Windswept, his former wife's sweeping estate. She feels uncomfortable and alone, the fairy tale she dreamed of not quite what she expected. Then, she finds Nina's diary.
"If I die unexpectedly, it was foul play, and Connor was behind it. Connor- and her."
Obviously after that, Nina's death begins to look more suspicious and it's beginning to look more and more like Tabitha was involved in Nina's death.
It was an ok summer thriller. There were some things that I predicted incorrectly, but I felt the final bit of it was muddled hurried. I will point out that Tabitha annoyed me deeply. Everything about her was just needy and whiny and I really didn't care whether or not she was a murderer or being thrown under the bus. I just wanted her to stop whining about her husband have to work and 'OUR baby.'
In short, there's better summer thrillers out there, but there's also worse ones out there.
2.5/5 stars
*I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my review.

What a great read-good character development and fast paced!! It grabbed you from the first and held interest to the last page. The locales ranged from ordinary to exotic and descriptions were complete and detailed. Thanks for an enjoyable book!!

What great book with some really great twists and turns right till the end wow!! Had me guessing right till the end!

Thanks to @netgalley for the book! I had a little bit of a love hate relationship with this book. I read it in less than 24 hours, finishing it this morning. The story is told through different perspectives mainly Tabitha (Tabby) but also Nina. Nina is a wealthy widow who married Connor two years ago. She is killed but you find out in the first few goes her husband is having an affair and she feels threatened by him. Tabitha was in love with Connor years ago one summer. One day she seems him at the restaurant she works at. After a magical weekend they decided to be together but Connor needs to figure out how to leave his wife without losing 10 million dollars but the she does. Many of the characters were not very likable. Connor made bad choices and was all over. Tabby just was in a love sick bubble. At the same time, I literally couldn’t put the book down@and wasn’t sure at all the direction it was going to take. So all in all not a bad read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

This was such a quick, thrilling read. Michele Campbell is the queen of domestic thrillers and this one delivers. I read this book in one, I couldn’t put it down. With twist and turns around every page, I definitely recommend checking this book out. This book begins with death of the first Mrs. Ford and is written from the perspective of the second Mrs. Ford. Can Mr. Ford be trusted? Who is telling the truth? Such an engaging, page-turner. This is the perfect summer beach read! Thanks netgalley for the e-ARC.

Similar to “A Stranger on the Beach”, this book featured a beach mansion, marriages of convenience, and affairs. Unlike the prior book, however, this one fell flat. The dialogue is pathetic. No man sees a naked woman and says “so ripe.” That was the most bizarre moment of this book for me, but it wasn’t the only time I groaned at the dialogue.
The characters are also hateable. All of them. Tabitha’s desperation is only exceeded by her stupidity and naïveté. It’s hard to follow along with her because the author gave us nothing redeemable to hold onto.
The same can be said for Connor. His character is horrendous. He’s either scolding Tabitha for stupid mistakes or he’s out of the picture. What a great guy. What a deep character.
The mystery itself was pretty good. I was interested in the outcome, having changed my prediction several times. Like other reviewers have written, the last third of the book is where the reader turns those pages.
Overall, despite the poor character of the characters, and despite the poor character development, I would give this mystery a solid three stars.

Gripped me from the beginning!
Tabitha never got over her first love Connor Ford. Tabitha was a poor girl living with her grandmother and working at a country club when she met Connor who was a member through his own grandmother. Their relationship was forbidden by both sides and Connor chose his family over her. She never moved on from the small town they grew up in and working at the local diner is where she sees him again 13 years later, He is much richer and in a loveless marriage and never got over her either. When a short time after they reconnect, his wife is found dead and although he is a prime suspect, he is unable to control himself and he immediately moves Tabby in.
It doesn’t take long for her to wonder if she made the right decision. She doesn’t belong in this high class world tryin to fit the shoes of his dead wife. She also wonders who she married and what is he capable of?
Kept me guessing to the end! Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Good thriller that keeps you guessing up til the end. I liked the narrative device of the diary and wish it would have appeared more. Semi predictable but an enjoyable read. Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC.

For me a first read by this author. A fast paced intriguing story that gets your full attention shortly after starting the book. Tabitha is swept into a romantic relationship with her former boyfriend. Against her better judgment all her feelings of been completely in love with him are coming back to the surface.
Is Connor Ford using her or does he truly love her. Finding herself in an environment she is uncomfortable with who can she trust? The police seem to be more against her then trying to help.
Connor is more into protecting his wealth then protecting the supposedly love of his life that he can’t live without. The story is a real page turner that will have you reading way past your bedtime.

I love a good domestic thriller. This particular one gave me a run for my money. Usually I can untwist most of the story by the end after following the clues that the author leaves. The Wife Who Knew Too Much left me still grasping right up until the end.
Tabitha has never gotten over her first true love, Connor. So when he comes back into her life unexpectedly she's more than happy to put any lingering questions at bay. She knows its complicated between them, but Tabitha is hoping that this time she'll be able to keep the only man she's truly loved.
One night changes everything. Connor's wife is found dead after a party that she hosted. Connor is now under suspicion and by extension Tabitha herself. Not knowing where the truth lies in the new world she was thrust into, Tabitha needs to learn quickly who to trust and who to be wary of.
A great beach or weekend read. You'll have a hard time putting this one down.

First I want to thank @netgalley and @stmartinspress for giving me my ebook ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I’m just going to jump right into it. I wasn’t a fan of this one. The characters were unlikeable. Tabitha, the main POV, was so naive and honestly? I thought she was stupid. I love strong, independent, bad ass women. Tabitha is not it. This is my second read by Michelle Campbell and I think it’s safe to say she has a knack for writing unreliable characters. While I was interested in the beginning, but as it went on the plot and story wasn’t enough for me. I was pretty over it by the end.

Sooo good.
I was hooked from page one. The diary entry was gripping.
And then we got to see the choices made by Connor and Tabitha...and how their choices spiraled and caused all the problems.
Fast-paced and full of twists, I really loved this!

Years ago Connor Ford broke Tabitha's heart. Now she is divorced and working as a waitress when he walks in after all of these years. They have a great weekend together but he is married. Not to just any woman but a very wealthy woman who he has been married to for two years. Tabitha finds out she is pregnant and shows up at their house on the 4th of July as they are having a big party. Connor's wife is dead before the end of the evening, Did she kill herself or was it murder? Who wanted Nina dead? Now Tabitha and Connor can marry but life is not all that simple. A great read and hard to tell who is the murderer until the end.

**Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review**
The Wife Who Knew Too Much was my second read by Michele Campbell. I enjoyed Stranger on the Beach, so I had high hopes for The Wife Who Knew Too Much and was not disappointed!
The book begins with a letter written by Nina, a rich and famous woman, who had supposedly committed suicide the night of her annual Fourth of July party at her mansion, Windswept. I was hooked from the start, as Nina's letter says that she is concerned that her husband, Connor, is having an affair and that he will kill her.
Next, we learn about Tabitha, a waitress from Connor's past. The two had an epic summer romance in their late teens that ended abruptly when Connor's family found out, disapproved, and forbade them to see each other. Connor and Tabitha reconnected just months before Nina's "suicide", and not long after, Tabitha marries Connor and moves into Windswept, much to the suspicion of everyone working for Connor.
The Wife Who Knew Too Much kept me guessing right up until the end, as Tabitha gets caught up in the investigation into Nina's suspicious death. This book was a page-turner, highly recommend!
