Description

From Michele Campbell, the bestselling author of It's Always the Husband comes a new blockbuster thriller in The Wife Who Knew Too Much.

Tabitha Girard had her heart broken years ago by Connor Ford. He was preppy and handsome. She was a pool girl at his country club. Their affair should have been a summer fling. But it meant everything to Tabitha.

Years later, Connor comes back into Tabitha's life—older, richer, and desperately unhappy. He married for money, a wealthy, neurotic, controlling woman whom he never loved. He has always loved Tabitha.

When Connor’s wife Nina takes her own life, he’s free. He can finally be with Tabitha. Nina’s home, Windswept, can be theirs. It seems to be a perfect ending to a fairy tale romance that began so many years ago. But then, Tabitha finds a diary. "I’m writing this to raise an alarm in the event of my untimely death," it begins. “If I die unexpectedly, it was foul play, and Connor was behind it. Connor—and her.”

Who is Connor Ford? Why did he marry Nina? Is Tabitha his true love, or a convenient affair? As the police investigate Nina’s death, is she a convenient suspect?

As Tabitha is drawn deeper into the dark glamour of a life she is ill-prepared for, it becomes clear to her that what a wife knows can kill her.

I received and ARC of The Wife Who Knew Too Much. Let me start by saying... I loved it.

This book sucked me in from the first chapter. I honestly probably could have read this whole book in one sitting if I hadn’t have had to go to work. The writing style was easy to read from the very first page. And the author did a wonderful job of setting the scenes. The Wife Who Knew Too Much has everything you want in a good mystery... love, lust, greed, drama, cheating... and of course, murder. I’m usually pretty good at figuring out the “who-dun-it” but this one kept me on my toes. Everytime I thought I had it figured out there was another twist or a wrench thrown in there. The plot itself was different than your run of the mill mystery, but not to the point of being unbelievable. The story of a love story gone... wrong? I’ll leave that for you to figure out. I giggle recommend this book. And now I’m going to find her other books so I can read those too.

This was a good mystery with enough suspense to keep the reader interested. I did not like the ending of the book and none of the characters had any redeeming qualities. However, neither of those lowers my rating. This is a book which I would recommend to others.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much is such a great thriller! I was intrigued the entire time and was amazed at how well the author captured each character! Very strong plot!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third book that I have read by this author, and I think she just keeps getting better and better. This book is mostly told in first person, by narrator Tabitha, with occasional flashbacks or scenes written from another's perspective. I couldn't put this one down, even to sleep. I was a bit saddened by the ending, but after I thought about it, the book couldn't (and shouldn't, probably) have ended any other way. I've enjoyed past books by Michelle Campbell, but The Wife Who Knew Too Much cemented her spot on my must-read list. Definitely a must read.

I loved, loved, loved this book! It was twisty and suspenseful and a very enjoyable read. Half of the book is told through both of Connor Ford's wives and I really liked both characters. I can't wait for her next book!!!

The Wife Who Knew Too Much is a quiet little suspense novel that sneaks up on you in the way that a carefully concocted cocktail does when you least expect it. We are introduced to many characters in the beginning and when one of them dies, we aren't really aware of how intertwined she will be throughout the rest of the novel.

When Nina commits suicide, her husband is set to inherit everything. Only there was a prenup which mentioned no extra marital relationships and now Connor just got his secret hook up pregnant. It looks bad for Connor and bad for small town girl, Tabitha who is now carrying his child. While Tabitha tries to adjust to the lifestyle of the rich and famous, there is a murderer on the loose and it seems like everyone is a suspect. Filled with plot twists that keep your head spinning until the end, The Wife Who Knew Too Much is a good mystery!

Excellent writing, character development was pretty good even though there were many characters, and settings were great!!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Michele Campbell, and St, Martin's Press for the invitation to read and enjoy this temporary advance review copy. As always, my opinions are mine alone.

Another chilling hit for Campbell. Her writing gets better and more intense each time she writes a new book. This one has so much of the things I love in thrillers; lots of money, cheating, lies, twists, and so many dark chills! It had me racking my brain to figure out who was guilty and innocent and why they were all doing it! It also tied together little things that no one would notice, but had such a prominent feature in the whole storyline! Left me gasping with shocks, in chills, and tired from staying up way too late to read! Highly, highly recommend! Preorder today, not one you want to miss!
Will make sure I buzz it up on all the different platforms!

Great read that I couldn't put down! Michele kept me guessing throughout the book and everytime I thought I had it figured out, I was wrong. She did a great job of introducing the characters and getting me invested in their lives. I will read all of her books- she has a new fan!

I really loved this book. Set in a glittery mansion in the Hamptons, The Wife Who Knew Too Much deals with the mysterious death of Nina Levitt, and the woman who married Nina's widower months after she died. I was genuinely surprised by all the twists and turns, and I even gasped out loud as some of the details of Nina's death were revealed. Reminiscent of popular thrillers like The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl, the book was definitely a page-turner with an interesting cast of characters. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that the "big twist" was a bit predictable, and I really love when I'm completely blindsided by this genre of book. I would definitely recommend it, as I thought the pacing of the story worked super well.

Another great offering from Michele Campbell. A first purchase for most general fiction collections, especially those where thrillers are popular.
