This was my second book my Michele Campbell. I may be of the unpopular opinion here but this one was just okay for me. Nothing really knocked my socks off or blew my skirt up. There were a couple of twists that managed to catch me off guard but all in all it seemed a bit average. I enjoyed the early romance between Connor and Tabitha. I didn't so much care for his relationship with Nina. I hated how controlling and over bearing she was. I also hated Connor calling Tabitha "Tabby" or even worse "Tabby Cat". It did Keep my attention and I love how she writes it such a way that makes it a quick easy read. Overall a decent engaging story that will leave your clothes intact. Thank you NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

Another fast paced and twisty thriller from Michelle Campbell. Full of greed, love, secrets, and deceit, The Wife Who Knew Too Much, kept me guessing till the last page. I enjoyed the plot and even thought the characters were less than perfect and got on my last nerve I still appreciated the storyline. Tabitha and Conner’s relationship was a complicated affair, and often times I just could not wrap my head around their relationship’s dynamics. The way Tabby acted and the decisions she made was highly questionable and I had hard time believing that anyone can be so gullible and clueless. However, as much as I did not like Tabby’s life choices and her poor judgement, I still rooted for her.

I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys whodunit stories with some unsavory twists and turns.

Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and the author for providing me with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book was such a great mystery/suspense read. I flew through it because I couldn't put it down and had to know what happens. I loved all the twist and turns along the way. I would highly recommend this book.

This was a super fast read for me. I was sucked in from the first page and didn’t stop until I was finished. So many twist and turns that I didn’t see coming. What I took from this book is that curiosity can get you in a lot of trouble.

The Wife Who Kness Too Much is the story of Nina Levitt, the widow of Edward Levitt, a very wealthy businessman and womanizer. Due to Edward’s infidelity, Nina is cautious about getting involved with another man. However, once she meets Connor Ford, she falls for him and they get married. But Nina learned from her marriage to Edward, and had put together a prenuptial agreement that leaves Connor with nothing if he is caught cheating on Nina. The story begins when Nina writes in her diary, before her annual July 4th party that she believes her husband is trying to murder her, along with “her”, an unidentified woman.
Enter Tabitha, a poor waitress who had a summer fling with Connor when they were teenagers. She has never stopped loving Connor. On Memorial Day weekend, Connor shows up at the restaurant where Tabitha works. He claims that he is miserable with Nina and has never stopped thinking about Tabitha. Their summer fling ended when his wealthy grandmother caught them together and made things difficult for Tabitha and her family.
Fast forward to when Nina IS found dead after her party, and suspicion falls upon Connor and Tabitha. Connor swears he is innocent, but Tabitha is not sure what to believe. There are many people who could have killed Nina, and Tabitha is not sure who to trust, including Connor.
This book has all the clues for you to figure out who is behind Nina’s murder, but it will still keep you guessing to the end. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with the book to read in exchange for an honest opinion. I enjoyed this quick and well crafted thriller.

I was excited to have a quick, fast book to read during some crazy times and this book hit the spot. It is a typical domestic suspense with unreliable characters and has you guessing the whole way through. It was fun to see the glamorous settings of the Hamptons and Dubai. If you want to read something quick and gripping, this will do it.

You ever come across a book and think “Oh I know how this is going to turn out”….and you were totally WRONG? Yeah that happened. To me and I’m okay with it. The story pulled me in right from the beginning. It had that vibe that something dark was about to happen. It sure did! The characters were well written and had me second guessing myself. I didn’t know who to trust. I had my theories and suspects. Everyone is shady!! Great plot and fantastic twists!! Like I said before, I didn’t see it coming. To me, that makes for a good read. When I finished, I dreamily sighed because it was THAT good.

This book is a fantastic read! I was glued to my kindle screen because I HAD to finish! Ah good times. This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I highly enjoyed her style and look forward to reading more from her. I give this 5 stars.

Thank you Netgalley for a copy of THE WIFE WHO KNEW TOO MUCH.
This is the first novel by Michelle Campbell I did not like at all, none of the characters are likable especially Tabitha. It barely kept my attention sorry I still like Michelle Campbell.

As I read the prologue - the words from Nina's diary hooked me...."If I die unexpectedly , it was foul play..." this was enough to hook me as well as the love of Tabitha and Connor , who fell in love as teenagers then reconnected decades later. From the beginning I felt Connor was unreliable although he clearly seemed to be deeply in love with his Tabitha, who constantly made excuses to rationalize his behaviors while simultaneously distrusting him. There was clearly enough suspense to keep the pages flowing but I had figured out the ending halfway through sifting through the suspicious characters. The ending chapters also seemed rushed, with somewhat unbelievable escape actions by the characters. All in all I enjoyed reading this book and also some of Michele's other books.

A great read! Lots of intrigue and enough drama to keep you hooked. Tabitha gets her everything...or perhaps she gets what she thought was her everything. I loved the way the plot sucks you in and another twist sends the story in another direction. I recommend this book to anyone who truly enjoys reading.

Thank you netgalley and stmartinpress for this digital copy!
Hooked right from the start at the reader reads a note left by Nina who says that in the event of her untimely death simply look to my husband !!!
Obviously you have to keep reading right !? This is about the power of money ! Not what it can buy you but rather what it can do to a person and how it can change who you are !
Connor - 30 years her junior manages to weave himself into her life and tah dah they get married ! Connor runs into his high school love Tabitha and they reconnect !
Will Connor choose money over his one true love ? Was Nina predicting her own death ?
I loved how the ending was not what I would have predicted and I loved how the reader had to constantly question Connor’s next move !!!! What would you do for money !?

This is my first Michele Campbell book and I was hooked from the first page. Regardless of my final thoughts on a book, I always appreciate when I’m hooked from the beginning and find myself reading every chance I get. This book had some good twists that I did not anticipate. This book had a good pace throughout and I never found myself bored with the plot. Some definite unlikeable characters, but isn’t that what we all love in some of our books? Would recommend this to others.

Thank you to Net Galley & St. Martin’s Press for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Just.....One...More...Chapterrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

The Wife Who Knew Too Much is a fast paced, gripping mystery-thriller, definitely one to get lost in.

This was me whenever I was supposed to go back to work, bed, or do any of my other responsibilities.

I struggled to put this this one down! Whenever I started to read, I would immediately get sucked in, to where I was absent-minded of what was going on around me.

The story begins with the beautifully, wealthy Nina Levitt stating,

"I’m writing this to raise an alarm in the event of my untimely death"....
“If I die unexpectedly, it was foul play, and Connor was behind it.
Connor—and her...”

In addition to loving that this book was a page turner from the beginning, I really appreciated how as the chapters would approach its ending, you weren't sure if the author would continue the story from the previous chapter, or if the story was going to switch to another character (which kept me on my toes) begging for the plot twist! I found myself getting immensely invested in the characters and enjoyed their development.

This is a story involving love, family roots, selfishness, murder and how our desires test our capabilities…

Many thanks to Michele Campbell, St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Connor was Tabitha’s first love but they went their separate ways and lost touch with each other.Years later, Tabitha comes across Connor in a local bar and their old romance is rekindled. There is just one problem … Connor is now married to a wealthy older woman and an affair could cause him to lose everything.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much by Michele Campbell is a twisty psychological thriller .It is a well written book which I found even more interesting due to the unlikable characters and a surprise twist that I didn’t see coming

I would like to thank St. Martin’s Press & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martins Press for The wife Who Knew Too much. Pretty good suspense novel. A good summertime read. The opening chapter swept me right in to this book and kept me reading until its completion. I think the ending was a bit predictable but it didn’t take away my enjoyment of this book.

This is the third book I’ve read by author Michele Campbell and the second one that I’ve disliked strongly enough to give it only 2 stars (and still feel like I’m being too generous).

Last year, when I read Campbell’s A Stranger on the Beach, the two biggest issues I had with the book were the badly executed story line as well as the frustratingly cliched and unrealistically written characters. In my review of that book, I remember writing how much I loathed the characters (especially the main protagonist Caroline), whose actions and behavior would get more ridiculous and outrageous the more the story progressed. Unfortunately, Campbell’s newly released fourth novel The Wife Who Knew Too Much was plagued by pretty much the same issues as her previous book — the execution was poor and the characters were absolutely loathsome. Actually, in my opinion, the characters in this story — especially the main character Tabitha — were way worse....I disliked most of them from the very first page. Its not often that I react in such a negative manner to characters in a fictional story, but Tabitha truly did get on my nerves. Perhaps I’m tired of reading about middle-aged women who are immature and childish and come across like petulant teenagers, or who are portrayed as naive and overly emotional and incapable of thinking rationally. Tabitha is the type of character I can’t stand — indecisive, foolish, immature — throughout the entire story, she knowingly makes poor choices over and over (and over and over and over) again, and if that’s not bad enough, whenever things go south because of those choices, the main reaction is to whine and cry and beat herself up for being foolish (the word “stupid” is more appropriate but a bit too harsh)...then, instead of learning from her mistakes and trying to fix them, she pushes all rational thought away and dives headfirst back into the foolishness that had gotten her burned in the first place. It’s hard to dislike a character so much that you end up having zero sympathy for them as well as not caring one bit what happens to them, but that’s definitely how I felt about Tabitha (and all the characters in this story, for that matter). Don’t get me wrong — I have no problems with flawed characters, as those flaws are usually what makes characters realistic, but the characters in this story were beyond flawed...Tabitha, Connor, Nina, and just about every other character in here were so cliched and stereotypically drawn that they essentially became caricatures.

Aside from the characters, the other thing that annoyed me was the plot, which I found to be ridiculously contrived from beginning to end. It’s one thing for a plot to be predictable, but entirely another when it veers into “outlandish” territory, to the point that I have to suspend disbelief every step of the way. Barely halfway through the story, I got so annoyed that I started skimming through to the end, which I’m glad I did because I know if I had read it word for word, I probably would’ve thrown my Kindle across the room in frustration. The writing itself was also a problem for me, as it felt very elementary and clunky, plus the fact that, as the main character, Tabitha narrated the story from her first person point of view made it so much worse, as I got fed up hearing her go back and forth trying to rationalize every dumb decision she made.

After 2 books in a row that left a bad taste in my mouth, I think I’m officially done with this author, at least for now. With that said though, I don’t want to discourage anyone from reading this if they so choose, as not everyone will have the same negative experience I did. So definitely check out other reviews first before deciding.

Thank you to NetGalley, Michele Campbell and St. Martin’s Press for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review.

I adore Campbell’s writing, so it was really no shock to me at all that I loved this one almost as much as Stranger on the Beach! I flew through this one wondering what kind of craziness was going to happen next. I loved the suspense of this novel and how you keep guessing different characters to be the guilty party and then you’d be wrong all the times. I really enjoyed Tabby even when she was obviously not being smart, but I disliked Connor right from the first page. I enjoyed that both main characters had a crazy ex in their pasts! Definitely a thrilling, twisty read that I would recommend!

I loved this book! I can usually sniff out the "bad guy" pretty quickly, but this book kept me guessing! The main character was sympathetic-although not without flaws. A fast paced read.

This one is tough to review, as I can't really explain why I am giving it the rating I am. On one hand, this book isn't particularly thrilling, the mystery is not particularly well done, the "bag guy" I saw coming a mile away, the main character was obnoxious, and circumstances surrounding the guilty party and the "why" of the mystery were quite apparent.

But, for some reason, I found myself actually wanting to read it. I was hooked from the first page. I was invested and I flat out, just really enjoyed reading it.

Other than that, I would say that this book is really more suited for mystery readers instead of thriller readers. It's not a thriller, IMO. But a mystery, yes.
