This book starts with a bang. A diary entry that says if she dies it’s her husband.
.
Who is the husband? Connor Ford is handsome, charismatic and secretive.
.
The first Mrs. Ford is one of the most beautiful, wealthiest accomplished women in the Hamptons and married to Connor who is significantly younger.
.
The second Mrs. Ford loved Connor as a teenager when she worked at the club his family belonged to. When she sees Connor ten years later she is still in the same town as a waitress. It isn’t long before they rekindle their love and are quickly married.
.
What happened to the first Mrs. Ford? Money, jealousy, love and prestige set the stage in a summer set among mansions, the water and glittering parties.

I enjoyed the mysterious characters in this book- why these women got involved with Connor is beyond me! I always enjoy the different points of view from the characters and this one was well done. The transitions were easy and it was well written. I was surprised by who did it! That is always a plus!

I've read a previous book from this author, Michele Campbell, that I really enjoyed for the most part, but had some very specific issues with it. So when I saw The Wife Who Knew Too Much, I was intrigued but hesitant. I'm glad I gave her a second chance and picked this up because it was SO GOOD.

Tabitha ends up re-connecting with a boyfriend from her teens and all of the love and emotion is still there between the two of them. Luckily, (or not), Conner's wife dies so they could be together. Good deal, right? Not at all. So many different things come to light that spells out T-R-O-U-B-L-E for Tabitha.

This book really had me going. It's definitely a suspenseful thriller. It's also the type of thriller where you don't really see the twist coming, but it's not a twist that comes fully out of left field. The twist makes sense and really ties it all up. I was a big fan of this one. 4.75 stars.

3.5 rounded up I loved parts of this book and I hated parts of this book. The ending drove me crazy and it was a bit all over the place but I did enjoy the pace and it definitely kept my attention because I wanted to know what was going on. Some good twists but the ending kind of ruined it

This is a story of love, greed, and secrets. It’s obvious from the start that there are some characters who are hiding A LOT. I kept figuring out reveals just before they happened, but that didn’t take away from my enjoyment. I would have liked to hear more from Ninas perspective, though it probably struck the right balance as to the focus. Many of the characters were highly unlikeable, so it really does offer a lot of possibilities as to the villain! A quick, enjoyable thriller. Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for the complimentary digital review copy of this title!

In this psychological thriller, Nina is the first Mrs. Ford. She is extremely wealthy and highly suspicious of her husband, Connor. She is so suspicious that she writes a letter in case she is found dead of an apparent suicide, pointing authorities to her husband and his girlfriend.
Tabby is a small-town girl. She and Connor had met when she was seventeen while she was working on his grandmother’s estate. Much to the chagrin of his grandmother and Tabitha’s grandmother, they had a fling until a stop was put to it.

Years later, Tabitha is a waitress. Who walks into the restaurant she works at? Connor. She has never forgotten him. And apparently, he has never forgotten her either. It doesn’t take long for them to fall into each other’s arms, and she becomes the other woman.

Before long, Nina is dead of an apparent suicide, drowning herself in the pool. Tabitha becomes the new Mrs. Ford and is plunged into a world of massive wealth and luxury. Things happen that cause her to doubt Connor, things that make her think the first Mrs. Ford’s death wasn’t suicide. Things that make her think maybe Connor pushed her into that pool. Her fairy-tale world has become more like a tale of horror. Her dream of being with Connor forever has become a nightmare where she is afraid for her own life.

Some people will do anything for love, anything for money. Some will kill for it. Is Connor deceiving Nina, or is it someone else?

If you like a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, you will love this book.

To the world in general, it appeared Nina Levitt had it all. She was fabulously wealthy, thanks to her first husband, and had remarried, to a younger, more handsome man that worked in her organization. But after one of her legendary July Fourth parties at Windswept, Nina was found dead, drowned in the swimming pool at her estate, and several suspects were being investigated.

Connor Ford was definitely in over his head. After marrying Nina several years earlier, Connor’s life had changed drastically, and not just because of the terms of the prenup Nina had had him sign. He was painfully aware that if he was found to be unfaithful or if he left Nina, he would lose everything.

Tabitha Girard had fallen in love with Connor years before, when she was just seventeen. She was stunned when Connor came into the restaurant where she was waitressing, and once again, swept her off her feet. Soon realizing she was pregnant; Tabitha went to Windswept during Nina’s July Fourth event to tell Connor face to face, since he was not returning her calls or texts.

Nina’s murder and Connor’s subsequent inheritance, followed quickly by Connor and Tabitha’s marriage and Tabitha’s move into Windswept, created a number of conflicts, and Tabitha’s arrest and brief incarceration made me wonder if she was somehow involved. There is romance, there are plot twists, there are characters who are not who they appear to be. I enjoyed this mystery, though I felt the underlying theme of Woman Being Saved from a Miserable Existence by a Wealthy Man has been used way too often.

I was provided with a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great thriller with twists and turns that I didn’t expect. While breadcrumbs were left to puzzle everything together, I was left guessing for much of the story.

Parts I didn’t full understand the characters choices, however overall I really enjoyed this book. It’s hard to find a unique way to present thrillers without it being trite and “The Wife Who Knew Too Much” avoids overused tropes. Captivating the readers attention to keep them rushing to the end.

I thought that this was Michelle Campbell's best book yet. This was book was a total page turner and left me thinking about the plot long after I finished. Stellar execution of an unreliable narrator.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much was a total miss for me. I considered DNFing early on and wish I had. This was a bunch of flat, cliched characters and twists I saw coming from a mile away.

Additionally there are too many things that just don’t make any sense. As one small example - Nina is extremely wealthy after inheriting money when her first husband passed away. She made sure to have an extremely detailed prenup when she got married again. But she has no will? At all?

I also couldn’t handle how many times multiple female characters were referred to as fragile, unstable, suicidal. No. Ugh. I wish I had put this one down when I first considered it. I wasn’t the right reader.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an advance reading copy.

What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.

It was alright, good even, for what it was. This book was predictable and a little contrived, and sometimes the main character made the absolute dumbest choices, which made it hard to always root for her. For the most part you can see this all coming, a couple of details were a surprise but really the wheel was not reinvented with this book. That's not necessarily a bad thing, when you want something nice and fun to use as a palate cleanser after something heavy, this will absolutely do the trick. This just isn't the next amazing thriller that everyone will be talking about is all. All in all, I would recommend to anyone that is looking for something light or perhaps something considered a "beach read".

Sorry to say I really couldn't get into this one. I read to the halfway mark and had to call it quits. This one just wasn't one for me. I was just too slow moving for me.
I would like to thank St. Martin's Press via NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

THE WIFE WHO KNEW TOO MUCH by Michele Campbell is a fast-paced and twisting thriller that grabbed me right from the start and never let go. Having read the author’s two most recent books, I knew I would be in for a page-turner and how right I was! I loved this book. Great storyline and fantastic characters. I highly recommend it!

This was a suspenseful and thrilling read. I didn't figure out the twist at the end in advance, which is rare for me! I liked the protagonist's voice and character and was rooting for her, though I have to say that I felt sorry for the "murdered first wife" character!!

If you like a fast and engaging read, this is a good choice. Perfect for beach reading!
