This was the first Michele Campbell book. I've read and it was pretty well done. It was written in a 3rd person POV and there were some timeline jumps that caught me by surprise a couple times, but for most part, it was a smooth read. The main protagonist is Tabitha, a 30-year-old waitress who 'runs into' her summer fling from 13 years before. Still handsome, he still has the power to sweep her off her feet and they renew their relationship. Of course, he is actually married to one of the wealthiest women in the world, not a lifestyle he wants to give up.
I originally thought the title referred to the wealthy wife, Nina Levitt, but now that I've finished (*small spoiler), I realize that Tabitha may be the titular character. There were several twists and turns - another reviewer mentioned that she just couldn't like any of the characters, and I have to agree. By the end of the book, I was emotionally drained, like spending the whole day in a counseling session! I'd certainly recommend this book as a good summer read.

This book gripped me from the first page. While the ending was a bit messier than I would prefer, overall I truly enjoyed this book. It was fast paced and kept my interest and I will be recommending it to everyone.
Thank you, Netgalley for the ARC.

Very enjoyable read with suspense and intrigue. What wife does not know too much? Tying in all the "players" was a nice touch!

Thank you to Netgalley for providing an arc of this book!
The main character, Tabitha Girard, is waitressing one night when a past boyfriend, Connor Ford, comes back into her life. Tabitha has never really been able to get over him and considers him the great love of her life. Tabitha is devastated to hear that Connor is married (unhappily) to a rich older woman, Nina Levitt. Not long after their reunion, Nina commits suicide and Connor convinces Tabitha that she too is his one great love and she moves into Nina and Connor's estate. Only not everyone that knew Nina is happy about their sudden developing relationship. Suspicions start to arise that Connor could have possibly murdered Nina for her money and Tabitha begins to question if she really even knows who Connor is.
The first book I read by Michele Campbell was A Stranger on the Beach and I was so impressed that I couldn't wait to read this one. I was not disappointed, This book has my favorite reading style, with multiple viewpoints and the plot changes back and forth between past and present. This style of writing worked well for this book because it kept the plot fast-paced and held my interest. The plot included many false suspects and kept me guessing until the very end. Every time I thought I figured it out, there was another twist. The beginning was unexpected and drew me in right away. This is perfect for readers that like fast-paced, twisty thrillers about deceiving husbands and suspicious wives.

I enjoyed this book and trying to figure out who actually killed Nina. I did feel like the ending was wrapped up very quickly though.

Twisty, turny, glitzy and glamorous - what a great combination! The Wife Who Knew Too Much is a classic whodunit mystery full of intrigue right from page one: "I'm writing this to raise an alarm in the event of my untimely death. My husband is planning to kill me. For obvious reasons. He's in love with someone else. And he wants my money." Clues to the murder are dropped like bread crumbs throughout, leading to a thrilling conclusion.

I started reading Michele Campbell back in 2018 when I picked up It's Always the Husband. I found that one very addictive and so I couldn't wait to read her other books as they came out -- She Was the Quiet One and A Stranger on the Beach. I can't say that her thrillers have much of anything new in them, but they are very difficult to put down. This continues in her latest, The Wife Who Knew Too Much.
Long ago, Tabitha Girard and Connor Ford were an item. She worked at the pool at his country club, and he was just rich and handsome. They go their separate ways until, one day, Connor comes back into Tabitha's life as she is waiting tables. He is now unhappily married to filthy rich Nina but wants to stay in the marriage so he can get some of her money. Tabitha and Connor hook up, of course, and when Nina takes her own life, they seem to be free to be together....until the police begin to suspect Nina's death was the result of foul play.
The Wife Who Knew Too Much begins with Nina's diary account of right before she died. This hooks the reader right away. The ending fizzles out a bit, but as is usually the case with books by Michele Campbell, it is awfully fun to get there.
MY RATING - 3.5

Michelle Campbell’s “The Wife Who Knew Too Much” isn’t a book that you’ll easily put down. It has echoes of Sidney Sheldon at his best. It is much less predictable. I don’t know how to write a review that won’t give away ‘too much’ if I can borrow that from the title.
Nina Levitt is impossibly wealthy after her first husband’s death. The happiness she thought she found in her second marriage has soured as she announces on the first page. Nina believes her husband and his mistress intend to kill her. She writes this in a journal just hours before her 4th of July party begins. She is found dead on the 5th. Nina’s high profile life and wealth came with it’s own set of pitfalls. Was her death an accident, suicide, or murder? The younger husband Conner Ford has a lot to gain and a reputation that suggests he isn’t above using women to get ahead. Tabitha who has held a torch for Connor since the age of 17 knows this all too well. When they meet 13 years after their teenage summer fling she finds herself pulled into the drama and danger of Nina Levitt’s life.

The story of Nina,Tabitha and Connor Ford, the man they both love.
How far will you go to be wealthy? Nina's money dazzles everyone around her but only Tabitha doesn't value it above all else.
Plot twists keep an interesting fast pace.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I read it in less than a day, as it was difficult for me to put down. I just had to find out if my theory was correct, discern what actually happened, and what was truth and what was a lie. I enjoyed the writing style, switching at times to different perspectives but done so in a way that had you piecing things together on your own & wanting to find out (eagerly) if you were correct. Thank you for this arc, I look forward to more books by this author!

Wow - I really enjoyed this book! This story is told from a variety of different perspectives. We have our main character Nina who realizes her much younger second husband has been cheating on her. We have Conner - her husband and Conner's mistress, Tabby. Their lives entangle and a conspiracy is hinted at. I didn't expect the ending and loved the wrap up.

Thank you St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the early copy of this book. I enjoy Michelle Campbell's books. Some more than others. This one was just okay for me. The setting and premise were not too fascinating to me and I had a hard time believing some things would turn out the way they did. If you enjoy Michelle Campbell books you'll definitely want to take a chance on this one!

Such a great read! I've loved her previous work, but I found myself wondering how the novel will end. Lots of twists and turns, such a great read!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book with its twists, turns and detours! Was it a bit unbelievable at times? Sure! Did I care? No! I worried at the beginning that I was not getting the chance to know Wife #1 but that was not the case. The author skillfully transgressed the story so that it unfolded in neat packages. I felt that Tabitha should have been more street smart. When you live a hard life, you should be more skeptical. Connor , the old boyfriend, now jet setting spouse should also be more street savvy. I wanted reasons why he would jeopardize his current lifestyle and not just opportunities. It was fun from the standpoint that there were mistakes in planning and execution and not from the minds of someone completely unhinged. This added some much needed credibility. It was a fun way to spend a pandemic evening! Looking forward to her next book! #stmartinspress. #netgalley. Pub date June 2020.

It is an absolutely brilliant thriller. It is fast-paced, full of twists and engaging all the way till the end. The first half felt a little slower for me personally but the second half of the book where the plot thickens was absolutely cracking. Though all the characters were majorly flawed and unlikable, it still keeps you hooked.
Many things that main character, Tabby does in this book are totally stupid and unbelievable but I guess its just about bad choices that lands her in such horrible circumstances. It just annoyed me so much every time she did something stupid. I guess I was so involved that even the character’s actions made me angry.
I would totally auto-read the books by this author.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy!

Wow!
This book captivated me from the very beginning. The story is told from many perspectives and builds suspense brilliantly. Who can you trust? In The Wife Who Knew Too Much you will discover that no one is to be trusted and everyone has a secret. And a big takeaway from this book is to remember, things are not always as they seem! And the ending was not what I expected at all. I always love books that do not fall into the typical scenarios that we're all accustomed to reading.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

A captivating thriller that draws the reader immediately. The style, plot and characters never seem to leave you and won't let you put the book down. Total roller-coaster ride which keeps you breathless. Wonderful read!

Thank you St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for the early copy of this book.
I have always wanted to love Michelle Campbell's books, but while I find myself not loving them. I do like them. They are definitely all quick reads that pass the time.
This one was no different. Quick, easy read.
I would recommend this if you are looking for a light thriller.

Wow! What a great read! I literally couldn't put it down.. very strong plot and full of surprises twist. It's been a while since a book has drawn me in this much. I highly recommend!

This book was a typical thriller in many ways. Two different perspectives (Nina's and Tabitha's) are used to tell the story. It's hard to tell which characters are being honest and which are being deceitful. And of course, there are a few characters you'll want to scream at (I'm looking at your Tabitha). What's different about this book is that you're not being led up to some big twist. Instead, the reader is given a set a puzzle pieces to try and fit together in order to see the whole picture. It almost felt like I was the detective trying to piece together what happened to Nina. By the middle of the book I felt like I had all of edge pieces put together, but there were a few middle pieces that I just couldn't get to fit right. I was trying to think things through up until the answers were given at the very end, the book never got boring.
Continuing on with the puzzle imagery, there were a few pieces that I felt never quite fit. They weren't big pieces, so the picture at the end of the novel was clear. However, there were just a few questions I felt never got answered, plot points that seemed important but then fell by the wayside. I don't want to give too much away because figuring out what is important and what isn't important is part of the fun, but there are a few things I would've loved to have more information on by the end.
Overall, The Wife Who Knew Too Much was an incredibly enjoyable read. An easy 4 out of 5 stars.
