This is the second Michele Campbell book I have read. Having loved the other book of hers that I read I was excited to dive into this one. It was really disappointing though. I didn't really like any of the characters and thought it was way too overdramatic and repetitive. It was a very forgettable book, so much so that I finished this book less than a week ago and I already had to refresh my memory on the characters. I kept reading the book hoping it would get better and I guess the second half of the book was better than the first but it just did not do it for me.

This thriller kept me on my toes and kept me wanting to read more. I did not see the twist at the end!

Spoilers: The trope of the mentally unwell woman being involved to an extent can be over done. However, I still enjoyed the story over all and would recommend it.

Loved this one as I have most of her books! Her story telling always keeps me on the edge of my seat!

Michele Campbell remains one of my favorite thriller/suspense authors to read. She's so talented at making me care to read about characters I would want to have no business with in real life. Tabitha, while annoying, really got me interested in her narrative! There were a ton of twists and red herrings, and hey, maybe one too many, but overall this was exactly what I like in my popcorn thriller. It let me escape from my real world for awhile and had me turning the pages.

Thank you so much to St. Martins Press and NetGalley for the free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Michele Campbell is one of the absolute best authors when it comes to thrillers, particularly psychological thrillers. This book had so many plot twists that I didn't see coming and the perfect amount of story building with all the flashes to the past that we got to read. The ending completely caught me off guard and honestly gutted me a little bit.

i’m currently trying to clear up my netgalley ARC’s on my kindle and i chose this one! published in July 2020. it’s definitely a summer-beach type read, but i’m so happy i picked it up in this cold winter we’re having here in IL!

thoughts: to be quite honest i actually really enjoyed this book. it was a refreshing thriller to knock off my list and a true page turner. it sucks you in right away with Nina’s diary saying that if she dies under any unusual circumstances, her husband and HER (you don’t know who her is until the end of course) are behind her death. the next chapter we find out Nina has died by a suspected suicide. Tabitha who is the main POV, married Nina’s husband Connor 3 months later after her death and let’s just say she definitely does NOT know everything 😂🤣 the ending was a little too far-fetched for me but that’s ok because people do the oddest things for money, love & revenge. i wanted a little bit more development on Connor. now that i think about it though, i don’t think i would want it to end any other way!

thank you @netgalley @stmartinspress & @michelecampbellbooks for this free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book just didn’t land it’s mark with me. Halfway through you know who was in involved. There was no real surprise factor by the end of the book. I give it three stars because although it did not do it for me the book was still written well.

Another great thriller by Michele Campbell! I really enjoyed this one! It definitely kept my interest throughout. I had my suspicions about certain characters, but some were twisted in a way that I didn't think of. I love that in a thriller. Overall, a great read and I highly recommend.

Another winner by Michelle Campbell! This domestic thriller author has mastered the art of the sleigh of hand. With compelling characters and familiar tropes, she leads the reader to expect one thing and then delivers another. She's a master at the top of the game.

I loved Michele Campbell's A Stranger on the Beach, so when the publisher invited me to read The Wife Who Knew Too Much, I was really excited. I loved this book even more! Michele Campbell has become one of my favorite thriller writers.

After Tabitha and Connor's relationship is forced to end abruptly, their lives head in completely opposite directions. Tabitha is a broke and divorced waitress in the same town, but Connor has married an extremely wealthy woman, causing him to become famous by association. When the two see each other for the first time in over a decade, neither can resist the magnetic pull between them.

But then, Connor's wife dies in an apparent suicide. Where the lovers may have thought they were getting a second shot at happiness, their pasts come back to haunt them.

I was immersed in the twists and suspense. Obsession is an overarching theme in this novel, and Campbell does a fantastic job of illustrating it.

Yet again, this author has completely blown me away. I have added all of her other books to my TBR to be devoured at a later date.

I received a free digital ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press.

Two women loved Connor Ford. And knew him as only wives can know. But Connor's first wife, Nina, is found dead -- and he's set to inherit millions. His second wife, Tabitha, has been burned by Connor before. And it appears that might happen yet again. Set in the Hamptons, The Wife Who Knew Too Much is a fast-paced summer thriller about people who will do anything for love and money.

I really enjoyed this book. It's an easy read, with plenty of twists and turns to keep engaged. For much of this novel, I wasn't sure who to root for -- which makes for an intriguing mystery. If you liked the Dirty John podcast, this book is for you.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I was so excited for this book because I LOVED It's ALways the Husband by the same author; however this one missed the mark for me.

My biggest issue was the relationship between the two main characters. Connor and Tabitha were together as kids, and then reconnect as adults. Tabitha is convinced Connor is the love of her life...but he's honestly portrayed as straight up trash throughout the book. I kept waiting on Tabitha to come to her senses, but she never does. Their relationship is so unhealthy but that issue is never really talked about...we're made to believe they're soulmates. I just couldn't get on board with that, so I couldn't get on board with their story either.

This one just wasn't for me, sadly.

If you want a good read with lots of twists and turns, look no further. Michele Campbell has once again woven a suspenseful tale that kept this reader guessing until the end. Just when I thought I might have things figured out, things would go off in a completely different direction. Campbell is fast becoming one of my favorite authors for this genre.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

Really enjoyed the experience of reading this book. After It’s Always the Husband, I knew I was already “IN” on this one! I love the way Campbell writes, and I always enjoy her characters. A really great thriller all around.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much – Michele Campbell

Thirteen years ago, young Tabitha Girard chanced to meet Connor Ford – she, a ‘pool girl’ working at the local country club, and his family members of the same club. Being worlds apart economically, they had nothing in common, but young love was not to be denied, and they carried on a whirlwind summer romance until Connor’s grandmother caught them together and angrily sent Tabitha on her way.
Now, Connor is making headlines as the husband of the infamous Nina Levitt, so Tabitha is stunned to see him walk into the Baldwin Grill where she’s a waitress – even more so when the hostess seats him in her section. Shocked and seemingly elated to see her again, Connor asks Tabitha is she’ll meet after work to catch up on things. Turns out he’s in town investigating a potential business venture and is staying at the home of a friend – a night of talking reveals that being the husband of a famous woman isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and Tabitha and Connor start their relationship once more.

As Tabitha waits impatiently on the sidelines, Connor desperately searches for a way out of his marriage without forfeiting all of the money that he’s married into – until the fateful night after a 4th of July party finds Nina floating in her pool, a presumptive victim of suicide…leaving Connor free to be with Tabitha. But an evolving set of circumstances lead police to re-open the investigation…with the suspicion that Nina was murdered.

As Tabitha – now Tabitha Ford - tries to adjust to the jet setting life Connor leads, he is equally determined to remain above suspicion. But then Nina’s diary turns up – and its’ words leave Tabitha speechless – and turn her world upside down. Now she must discover if anyone in the household can be trusted – or if her whole world has become a well-orchestrated lie…

This is one of those books that hooks you right from page one and keeps you frantically turning pages just to find out if you’re right (or in my case wrong!) about the roles of each character you meet inside the cover. This one kept me up well into the night (yes, I know, many of my books do) because it was just that good!! Highly recommend!!

The characters in this book are a hot mess from beginning to end. It's a study in leaving your past boyfriends in the past and letting that temptation to rekindle something die a quick death. Every decision Tabitha and Connor make is disastrous, and frankly, they're both terrible people. It's hard to enjoy a book with such unlikable people as the focus, so I struggled with that. It's also hard to ignore the bad decision making and just enjoy the rocky ride through the story, because you know everything is going to turn out badly. It was a quick read, and I was sucked into seeing how it ended, but it felt more like morbid curiosity than actual enjoyment.

Another winner for Michele Campbell! She writes fast-paced thrillers that never fail to keep me on my toes! I had a hard time putting this one down, and ended up finishing in one sitting, which is rare these days. A wealthy character wrapped up in a murder scandal and add a cheating partner on top of that? PERFECTION.

I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

Thank you to the author Michelle Campbell, the publisher St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for giving me an ARC in exchange for my candid review.

I read this book quickly as it was suspenseful. It begins with the WIfe writing a warning in her diary saying that if anything should happen to her =====they should look at her young husband. Then you quickly find out that the wife is found dead the same day.

They story bounces around a bit in past and current. It is a familiar story----- the husband is having an affair, the wife has a strict prenup that will give him nothing if he cheats, and the wife dies. The question is; did he do it? or is he really just a guy in the wrong place?

As I said, it is a somewhat familiar story with a cast of suspicious people, but I found that the coincidences and plot were somewhat stretched and unbelievable. It was a good read, but I will forget the book, the characters and the storyline as soon as I put it down.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much is one of those books that leaves me with mixed feelings.

Starting with Nina's diary entry, I was engrossed by this twisted and messy read.

The writing is fast paced, with a storyline full of intrigue and suspense.

Meeting Tabitha and seeing her relationship with Connor revealed left me wanting to both root for her and tell her not to trust him. Not that I know yet what's actually going on.

It's a gripping tale, with twists and turns to keep you reading late into the night. That said, I don't love it, as I don't like any of the characters, keeping me unsure of how I feel in the end.
