Michele Campbell has done it again! This book was AMAZNG!
It begins with a woman named Nina who is writing a note saying if she is found dead her husband and his girlfriend had committed the murder. We alternate between three timelines and two viewpoints. One with Nina and Tara.
Tara is a young woman who is down on her luck. She works at a local restaurant waitressing. She is divorced, no children, and no family except for an ex-husband who is in jail. Her life changes when her boyfriend from years past shows up. He was always the one who got away.
They begin their relationship again even though Tara knows he is married. What follows is a series of hardships and questions for Tara who becomes very confused. Soon she begins to fear for her life because nothing is making any sense. The more she questions the more things do not add up.
This book was soooo good! You think you know where this story is going but you actually have no idea! This is one of the reasons why I love Michele Campbell so much. She alway surprises you!

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of The Wife Who Knew Too Much.
The Wife Who Knew Too Much is your standard domestic drama; a wronged wife, a mistress, family drama and secrets.
I don't mind a stereotypical drama provided it holds all the necessary elements; interesting characters, intriguing premise and twists I don't see coming, but I didn't like this as much as I hoped.
The main character, Tabitha, is a silly woman, both when she was young and years later, when she is an adult. It's hard to believe the decisions she made. They were downright stupid.
It was also difficult for me to believe in her relationship with Connor. They profess to love each other but I can't see why. There's no rapport or similarities between them.
In fact, the author spends an inordinate amount of time talking about how hot and buff Connor is. Naturally, only ugly people exist in real life, never in books.
There were too many hard to suspend disbelief moments, notably the "twists" and the coincidence of how Connor met Nina, got a job at her company, etc.
All the characters were unlikable and possessed no redeemable qualities, not even a negative redeemable quality like being unusually sly or cunning.
The ending was Lifetime-y, predictable and sort of happy ever after.
Some people might enjoy this book very much, but this wasn't for me.

4 stars for the story + 2 stars for the writing and dialogue = 3 stars overall
The Wife Who Knew Too Much is a quick, easy read with a very decent plot. Unfortunately, that's cancelled out by the not-so-great writing and dialogue. The conclusion was also disappointing and easy to anticipate.
And Tabitha...poor Tabby might be one of the dumbest characters I've had the misfortune to read about for awhile.
I'm definitely an outlier here, so be sure to read the many positive reviews to determine if his book is a good fit for you.

**Many thanks to the publisher for my review copy.

Tabby is caught between her love for Connor and his wife, Nina. Connor was the love of her life, a life she thought she left behind 13 years ago as teenager. Connor is now married to Nina, a socialite with power and money. Somehow Connor sought out Tabby as he's trying to find himself again. He admitted that he was trying to leave his wife; however, he wants to leave her with a portion of her money. A nice chunk of change in millions if he can somehow convince that it was her idea to divorce him.
The story started out slow. The dialogues between Tabby and Connor read like a horrible romance script. However, as I push through there was more to it than meets the eyes. I find that Nina has a much more colorful and wholesome description of characters than any other person in the story. I find Tabby to be bland and forgettable. This was still a great read.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me read this fabulous ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you St. Martin’s Press for this advanced copy of “The Wife Who Knew Too Much”. This book was a page turner from the beginning. The story starts with Tabitha a lower middle class teenager being raised by her grandparents after her mother dies and her military father decides he cant take care of her alone. Tabitha works at the local beach resort and meets Connor a rich kid who’s family belongs to the beach club. Tabitha and Connor start dating, and Tabitha falls in love with Connor but their social class differences lead to the end of their relationship. Thirteen years later Connor walks back into Tabitha’s life and all the feelings she had come rushing back. Connor however is now married to one of the richest women in the world, and is basically unavailable to Tabitha. Connor’s wife Nina dies unexpectedly, and while its ruled a suicide, there seems to be foul play involved. Next thing you know Tabitha is being accused of Nina’s murder and she doesn’t know if she can truly trust Connor. Tabitha starts to wonder if Nina’s accidental death wasn’t a murder set in place to inherit all of Nina money. As Tabitha sets our to prove her innocence she learns everyone around her may not be who they seems and many secrets are being kept.

This was one of those twisty thrillers that I really enjoy! Tabitha is working as a waitress when her old flame, Connor walks into the restaurant and suddenly she is smitten again. But Connor's life is complicated; he's married to an older, very wealthy woman whose prenup states he'll get nothing if he cheats or initiates a divorce. However, he'll get millions if SHE initiates it. So we see the dilemma from the beginning. Connor tells Tabitha he's still in love with her but can't be free easily...and the plot thickens! Going back and forth in time, the novel gives us wife Nina's perspective as well as Tabitha's as they are both drawn into the downward spiral of events. I love Campbell's books and this one was just as good as the others!

Thank you Netgalley for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. This book gripped me fro the start, and I was transformed into a world of wealthy and scandalous. I was taken by Tabitha, and felt bad for her in the beginning. She kept coming up with the short end of the straw!! But I have to say, I did not care of the other characters in the book, and perhaps that was the point. This book had twists and turns! I enjoyed this book, but not as much as the Stranger on the Beach. I gave this book 3 stars.

Wow! Michele Campbell has done it again!!! She has risen to the top as one of my favorite authors!
I’m not going to go into detail about what this story is about because the less you know, the better. Read the synopsis and that’s all you need to know. However, I will say this book had me hooked from the very first page. The writing flowed so well, I felt like I was part of the story. This story was suspenseful and twisty. A lot of books I’ve read, will throw in twist after twist and it’s just for shock value. This is NOT one of those books. When I thought I had everything figured out, here comes the twist that I was not expecting!
The Wife Who Knew Too Much is a 5 star read! It’s a page turning, didn’t want to put it down, kind of story. I will read every single thing Michele Campbell writes!
Thank you to Michele Campbell, St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for an early reader’s copy in exchange for a honest review.

Wow, Michele Campbell, what a tangled web you weave! This book had me so hooked, I finished it in one day. Just when I thought I had it figured out, it took another twist. If you enjoy a good suspense, check this June 9, 2020.
Thank you, Netgalley, Michele Campbell, and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC.

Michele Campbell has once again authored an excellent mystery/thriller! In "The Wife Who Knew Too Much", Tabitha comes across her high school boyfriend and falls back in love with him. But is he who she really thinks she is? This book kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through! I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery/thrillers!
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

This was such a great read. Once I started, I couldn’t stop and ended up reading it all in one setting! There were so many plot twists and turns; once I figured out something, a twist would happen and I’d be completely wrong. This is the kind of mystery thriller than I love to read!

WOW!! Michele Campbell knocked it out of the park again with her latest thriller, The Wife Who Knew Too Much. This book was filled with shady characters and a twist I never saw coming which made it hard to put this book down. I would HIGHLY recommend this book!
Thank you to St. Martins Press for the ARC. It was very much appreciated especially during the coronovirus crisis we are all living through at the moment.

A thrilling, deeply unsettling page turner about marriage, lies, affairs and betrayals. The Wife Who Knew Too Much could basically serve as a guide on everything not to do in your marriage. The story is gripping and I absolutely sped through it because I just HAD to know what happens. The book is filled with unlikeable characters driven mad by their greed, and the plot unfolds such that you just have to keep reading till the end.

When I first started this one I was a bit put off by how naive the main character Tabby was. She was in love with Conner who all the sudden waltzes back into her life after years of being apart and the relationship having ended badly in the first place. Now he is married to the rich and beautiful Nina Levitt who winds up dead. The book kind of stalls a bit in the middle but the latter half did a great job with building tension and several twists started coming that I didn't see (including the ending). The funny thing is none of these characters were especially sympathetic or likable throughout the entire book but I really ended up enjoying it anyway. This is worth the read for suspense/thriller fans.

I did finish reading this so it wasn’t too awful. It was very predictable. I found no twists to make it exciting at all. None of the characters were likable. In fact the main character went from a strong, independent woman to a weak, codependent one simply by meeting a man who had been her teenaged boyfriend. He was an money hungry, overbearing, cheater who treated her worse than a dog but she “loved him.” By the end of the book I was hoping someone would kill them all.

I was so excited for this one as I’ve read all the author’s work. That makes this review hard to write because this book was a mess to me. By 50% in I was confused, and by 75% in I was dumbfounded.
The story that starts out did not fit the story that this book ended up being. It became way too far fetched in my opinion. I read a good deal of legal thrillers, and the scenes with lawyers/court proceedings in them were VASTLY misrepresented. I was in awe of how unrealistic things were portrayed, particularly how idiotic the protagonist was acting. We’re supposed to believe this woman had suffered hardship her entire life, but then couldn’t understand how the justice system gets things wrong? It didn’t feel true to the character we had spent so much time getting to know.
I’ll be honest, I skimmed the last ~20% because I lost interest. I’d give this author another shot, but again, what a bummer of a book.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book has given me so many different feelings. I feel so conflicted about a few aspects of the plot but overall, it's a pretty great read.
I wasn't a fan of the main character, Tabitha from the beginning. I disliked her the entire book and is probably one of the dumbest main characters I've ever read about. That being said, I doubt the entire plot would have been even remotely possible if the main character wasn't so gullible and dumb. It was often tedious to read from Tabitha's perspective but it wasn't bad enough that I wanted to quit reading.
I also was not a fan of Connor, obviously. From the the very beginning, we know him as a cheater and he blames his behavior on his wife, toxically painting Nina as the villain, thats she's responsible for his terrible behavior and cheating ways. There more about him that I hate but tom keep the review spoiler free, I won’t go into detail.
The choices him and Tabitha make individually and together are incredibly terrible and stupid but also made the book pretty engaging, similar to the way reality tv shows are engaging.
I really enjoyed reading from Nina's perspective. She was more interesting than Tabitha and Connor put together and I wish more of the book was from her perspective.
The plot twists were interesting and mildly surprising. The characters do lead you believe you know what happened and it's pretty impossible to not make the obvious assumptions.
The pace was actually really good, I was very impressed. It wasn't slow and I didn't think anything was rushed, even at the end. I read the whole book pretty quickly and I even looked forward to reading each time I picked the book up.
Overall, very impressive read. I didn't enjoy the main characters but that didn't take away anything from the reading experience. I really enjoyed Nina's perspective and the overall plot and pace was wonderful. I really enjoyed this book and since I read this as a digital copy, I look forward to the release so I can pick up a physical copy.

This book was great! Thank you #NetGalley for the advanced copy!
You meet Tabitha who doesn't come from a lot other than a lot of struggle & grew up in a small town who runs back into her rich entitled love from her past... then the snowball starts growing!
The story was interesting as well as the characters. A little bit of the middle was slow but the end had SO many twists & turns coming that even I - someone ridiculously good at guessing where things are going - didn't see coming!
I enjoyed this so much I definitely plan on looking into other books by Michele Campbell. I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style.

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I LOVE Michele Campbell's books, I have enjoyed every one and The Wife Who Knew too Much was no different. This story line twists and turns as the plot develops. The characters are well developed.. I could visualize this story as it unfolded. The Wife Who Knew Too Much has my vote for the next book to Netflix movie! I highly recommend this thriller!

Oh wow. Michelle Campbell is back with a new thriller out june 2020. The only likeable character, Nina, dies in the 2nd chapter. I really could not stand any other characters, but that seems to be the brilliance of this book. I hated them all, but I couldn't put it down! I had to know who killed Nina. I'm giving it ⭐⭐⭐⭐. Thank you to netgalley and st martins press for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
