I requested this several years ago, unfortunately, I will not be able to review it now but will try my best to do it in the future. Thank you for the opportunity.

Rochon’s “ The Boyfriend Project” reminds readers of the importance of friendship and one’s capacity for personal success. It is also just a lot of fun to hear how each highly accomplished character works through their relationships, their careers and their aspirations for themselves, and one another.

This was a really enjoyable preview that certainly has a lot of potential to be an engaging read. I read the preview some time ago and haven't got round to the full novel, but I was certainly entertained.

3.5, maybe 4 stars.

The Dating Playbook is a sweet, funny, and steamy fake dating romance. Taylor and Jamar make a sweet couple who are open with each other, and help each other. I liked Taylor's determination, her drive, and her reluctant acceptance of her learning disability and I related to her challenges with her family. Jamar was almost too good to be true - astoundingly loyal, intuitive, respectful, and generous. Rochon wove an engaging tale of love, grit, friendship, and romance. An important part of the story is Taylor's friendship with Samiah and London. Their relationship is a huge part of the appeal of this series for me and Rochoimn does a fantastic job writing it. Taylor and Jamar's story made me smile, and engaged my heart and my attention. I've enjoyed the first two books in the series and I'm looking forward to the next one.

This was not my favorite, but I'm hoping that it picks up since this is just a preview of the story coming out.

Meet John Tucker Must die bookstyle but with a twist! After catching her boyfriend with another woman! Samia finds herself gaining something else that night: friendship. This book shows what it is to really feel like as a black woman and teaches valuable lessons. Without spoiling anything I did laugh and end up up rooting for sexy Daniel. Daniel being a sweet was a reason this book had me squealing. Farah Rochan shows an accurate representation of unfair treatment as a both a woman and a person of colour and also gives us hope that there is a perfect person for us!

What happens when 3 smart girls get screwed over by one guy? They get together and form The Boyfriend Project. It was so much more than a typical rom-com. I loved that there was finally a rom-com that wasn't centered around blonde hair and blue-eyed size 2 women.
Props to Farrah Rochon for an entertaining and well-thought-out story that captures your attention instantly and makes you want to turn page after page to find out what happens!

This was a delightful romance debut from Farrah Rochon. I hear there are other books in the series and I will read her other books as well!

Samiah, 30, finds out through her sister, who is following a disastrous date on Twitter, that Craig is cheating on her. She goes viral when she confronts him, but gains two friends with the other women who were also dating Craig.

This had me hooked with that start. The three women became friends and started the "boyfriend project" to work on themselves and not actively look for men. That felt like a refreshing start to me.

Samiah meets Daniel, who is 28 and half Korean and half Black, at her job. The attraction is immediate and mutual. She doesn't know that he is undercover to find who is using Trendsetters to laundet money.

There is a nice romantic buildup between Samiah and Daniel. From sexy kisses to hot, steamy sex scenes!

The description of the workplace and work colleagues was very good and added to the story. it was good to read about Samiah being great at tech, leading teams, and finally working on her app. I was kept guessing at who and how the money laundering was being done and how Daniel would mess things up with Samiah.

I just wanted a bit more with the three friends working on themselves, so that the project did not seem like a side issue. I really liked how the three women interacted in the beginning and wanted more from them. I'm glad that it is a series.

They named their group "Hastag Squad Goals". Cringe. That was a trending #. Not something three intelligent Millennials would name their group. It says nothing about them personally.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and am curious to read book 2, The Dating Playbook, which is Taylor's turn to find love.

Note: I received a reading copy from NetGalley.

Reading this preview made me want to go buy the book right away. I loved how the author took the time to nail the beginning of the story so that the reader wants to continue with the story. This novel follows three smart and talented women trying to find a man to complete their life plan. But I love how they are also discovering that they can be good enough without a man. What a great start to a book.

A fun, light read that has a lot of potential. Sprinkled with some funny moments and what I think will develop into a lovely relationship, I'm looking forward to reading more of this one!

First off coming for a fellow Makeup lover I loved all the makeup talk.
“Master the Smokey eye and you can conquer the world”
I loved how the three females came together to empower eachother thru an unfortunate situation they were put in. ( Craig Is an ass lol ) think I’m going to end up buying this book as I’m interested in how this will end.

I downloaded this before realizing that the book is already out, but after reading the preview chapters, I definitely think I'll be finding a copy of the book! My opinions thus far are that the "The Boyfriend Project" is highly readable, and looks like it will be a fun and frothy novel. The concept – three women meet after being cheated on by the same guy – reminds me a bit of the movie "The Other Woman" but instead centering fully on female empowerment. This is probably the aspect I loved the most – how it centers them just totally bonding over the incident and not wasting time or energy on the cheater dude. Also, props for having Samiah work in tech – anyone who knows me knows I need my women-in-STEM fix. Overall, while I usually don't vibe with women's fiction all that much, this one seems to be an exception and I'm really interested to read more!

I really enjoyed this book. It was more about female friendship to me than romance (though there was a lot of spicy scenes)! I especially liked the premise of the book (a cheating boyfriend and an awkward confrontation) that leads to Samiah becoming friends with two amazing women. Samiah is a strong female lead, which made me love her even more, and her new friends are funny and each have unique voices. Overall I gave the book 4/5 stars because it was funny, full of friendships and romance, and strong independent women.
