I am so in love with just this preview and plan on reading this novel. I loved the strong friendships created and the realistic qualities of the way things truly are. I am so excited about this story and can’t wait to read the full novel.

I received the preview of this book (first four chapters) and I really enjoyed it! I will say that the beginning of the book is a bit slow for me, however I loved the friendship that formed between the girls who were screwed over by Craig. I'm excited to see how Taylor and London will have a role in Samiah's life. I like Daniel's character but he hasn't made that much of an impression on me yet. It was a little bit convenient that no one but Daniel had Samiah's back when the video was going around, but I was in the mood for something light and cute and this was definitely it.

The Boyfriend Progect is a romantic comedy set in Austin, Texas. The lead character, Samiah is successful in all areas of her life except finding love. The book opens with the Samiah preparing for a date while her sister narrates a person live tweeting a bad date on Twitter. As the story unfolds it becomes clear to Samiah that her boyfriend is two timing her and she sets out to ambush his date.
This is a fun read. The pacing is fast and this is an easy read. I love the instant camaraderie London, Taylor and Samiah form in response to cheating Craig. It is refreshing to see them unit against him versus fight over him.
The first half of what I read was very conversational. Like sitting in on a chat with girlfriends. An example would be the scene after London, Taylor and Samiah confront Craig on his cheating and lying. The second half describes Samiahs work place. The writing appears different here. Very descriptive. Enjoyed sections about her workplace, colleagues and her role in this section. An awkward moment in the writing occurs when Samiah meets Daniel. Not sure if this was because it was an excerpt but the conversation on first meeting between Daniel and Samiah odd for a first meeting. Not sure why they would discuss her video, somethings she is embarrassed about especially at work.
This book is compared to books by Jasmine Guillory. Though what I’ve read is enjoyable, I’ll need to read more to see if this is the case.

I received a small portion of this book to review and from what I’ve read I enjoyed it. I just got approved to read the entire book and I can’t wait.

just look at the cover!!!!!!
i knew i had to read this book it was everything that i needed i couldn't stop reading it .this was the first novel i ever read by farrah rochon and it had two strong ,compassionate lovers there love was beyond this world.
my favorite part of this novel was at beginning like omg the girl samiah brooks discovers the man she's with is dating another two women.the relationship between samiah,Taylor and London i loved so much but they had a lot of thing they all had to keep dealing with throughout the book by this one man Daniel. guess he turned out to be too good to be true you guys have to read it for yourself you will not regret it because i didn't at all.

The first part of this preview felt a bit slow moving and a little overly descriptive at times to me, but by the end of it when she quite literally runs into the hero and they meet/chat, I wanted to know more!
I also love that a friendship is forming between the women who were all deceived by Craig (if that is in fact, his name), so I’m very interested in seeing those relationships grow.
From this snippet alone, I would rate it between 3-4 stars, but I’m excited that I now also have the entire ARC, so I look forward to seeing the characters and story develop!

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of the first few chapters of this book!
The first few chapters of The Boyfriend Project were pretty cute. The characters are fun and I liked them enough to want to keep reading. I was especially intrigued by the character of Daniel. I don’t know enough to be able to predict the major conflict in this story, so I will have to finish reading the novel in order to write a full review. Looking forward to reading the rest of this book!

An exciting read about revenge after one man tries to dupe and take advantage of several women.
I would recommend this book.
Thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review

Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of the first few chapters of this book.
For some reason the first few chapters didn’t pull me into this book. It was cute, and on paper this seemed like a book I would love, but I think I’d have to read the rest of the novel to make a better review. I look forward to reading the whole book.

The three women Samiah, London, and Taylor connected by a live tweet with a boyfriend. This preview of the story was exciting. I really enjoyed this. The digital age story about strong female relationships got me going to Amazon to pre-order this book. This story is the struggle for black women in the workplace and how buns can be stronger. I love the romance and the humor from the characters. This story is about following your dreams and doing what you have to do. The characters were lovable, funny, and relatable. I know it was just a preview but I just couldn't put the book down. I recommend this to romance readers. I give this preview 5-stars.

I adored The Boyfriend Project Extended Preview. After finishing it, I immediately selected it as my Book of the Month selection. I liked the characters. I’m looking forward to seeing how the story develops. Thanks Forever ( Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for the preview of this title.

From page one, the quick wit of tremendously strong characters, hit like lightening.
I had whiplash at how quickly Ms. Rochon's pulled me into her book.
The camaraderie of the three women Samiah, Taylor, and London starts with all three learning by way of social media, they are dating the same man. Like the strong women they are, they ban together instead of pit against one another and walk away from the cheater who can't stop coming up with excuses as to why he's not at fault.
Is their journey together and individually easy? Of course not. None of the great relationships are, but her storytelling is real and wicked smart.
I could easily see me knowing or being one of these ladies at some point in my life as well as the many secondary characters as she beautifully highlights many of Austin's (one of my favorite cities) hangouts and classic landmarks.
If you don't get whiplash, you'll for sure have a book hangover so fire up the coffee, because it's gonna be a late night.
Had a blast reading Ms. Rochon's book and can't wait to read the next amazing release.
Congrats on a fun, fabulous read. :)

I'm so happy to have had the chance to read this extended preview. It's such a cute, light hearted rom com. The first several chapters really drew me in. Luckily I picked this book for my book of the month box, and am excited to read the rest.

Thank you Netgalley for the extended preview. I think this will be a cute, mindless rom com. It’s a bit unfair for me to rate the book considering the preview is only 50 pages, but at this point it would be 3 stars.

This is such a cute story! I love the characters already just from the preview. I cannot wait to read the whole book and have already purchased it!

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to have a peak inside this book. Can't wait to read the rest.. seems funny with great characters.

This preview was a very fun read. I'm very excited for the book to come out so I can read the rest!
Samiah is powerful, funny, and delightful - as shown in our opening number where she discovers that the guy she's been seeing is the current topic of someone's "worst first date" live tweet thread on Twitter, and marches down to the restaurant to confront the cheating jerk. Another woman shows up having also seen the thread and the 3 ladies ditch the cheater and have a lovely night becoming fast friends.
Jump to the next morning and a video of the throw-down is up on YouTube and has A LOT of views. Work on Monday is a barrage of coworkers pestering her with questions and taking selfies - until she meets the new guy Daniel, who actually asks how she's doing and treats her like more than a viral sensation. But she's sworn off romance, right?

O MY GOODNESS! I can't wait to read the rest of this book.
The first four chapters of this book have me really wanting to find out what is going to happen.
I have met Samiah, she workes for a tech company and has just gone through a very public break up, that was filmed and gone viral. I've also met Daniel, a new hire in the R&D department at her job. But there is something about Daniel that tells me he isn't just a new employee in that department. I am thinking that there is something not right happening at this company and he has been hired to find out who is behind it. He is the only one, at least from what we can tell, who has not seen her video.
Up to this point in the book I am totally drawn in. I can't wait to find out why Daniel is at the company and to find out if Samiah and him become just friends or more than just friends. I love the fact that her pregnant sister, who I believe is a teacher, is the one keeping track of the views of her video.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to have a peak inside this book. Can't wait to read the rest.

Oh, this extended preview has me hooked! I didn't want to stop reading when it ended.
The Boyfriend Project features Samiah, who suddenly finds herself going from prepping for a fifth date to confronting the guy she'd been seeing. She lives in Austin, is close with her pregnant sister, and works for an IT company.
I really like the way Rochon writes dialogue, and how realistic her characters feel. I also feel a budding workplace romance coming on? And love that!
So far, The Boyfriend Project seems fairly feminist with a touch of "girl power" without being over the top or feeling fake - also something I love.
I'm eager to read more!

Based on this preview I am sure I'd love this book. Samiah's struggle with dating and how no one takes a successful woman seriously without a man by their side really hit home, This also seems like it'd be a fun and light read, which during these times is very much needed. The preview left off with her meeting a potential love interest, I can't wait for the book to come out to finish the rest. I'm rating 4 stars because I'd have to finish the book to be sure my initial impression was right.
