The extended sample of The Boyfriend Project shows a lot of promise.
The story draws the reader in from the opening pages when the hilarious date gone wrong unfolds in real-time online and makes three women realize they're dating the same man.
In the first four chapters the book talks about issues like gender inequality in the workplace and societal pressure, while offering a fast-moving and fun plot.
The preview leaves you wanting more of what's to come with the girls and with Daniel, the new guy at Samiah's office.
I'm excited to read more of this romantic comedy from Farrah Rochan!

The extended preview left me wanting more about this book. I want to know the friendship development with the other 2 ladies from the catfish and also what happens between Samiah and Daniel. I will be purchasing this to see the outcome. This is the first time I've ever heard of the author, but after the preview, I'm a fan.

I feel so lucky that I was able to read this extended preview of The Boyfriend Project! I love the style of writing and the chapters I saw were very well-paced. I laughed aloud at times, especially when Craig had to face all three of the women at once. I’m intrigued by Daniel’s analytical style of thinking and very curious to see further interactions between Samiah and Daniel! Samiah is clearly a boss, one of my favorite kinds of heroines. She strikes me as smart and fierce. I loved how she took the opportunity to foster connection between the two other women who were also being catfished. I will definitely have to pick this book up on June 9 to see what happens next! Thank you to Farrah Rochon, Grand Central Publishing, and Netgalley for the opportunity to access this preview of The Boyfriend Project in exchange for an honest review.

To be honest this book wasn't my cup of tea. I thought it was going to be a little more in depth about the whole cheating scandal with Craig, but the author jumped right into it.

These were such interesting first few chapters.
At the beginning it reminded me of the Central Park Pact series by Lauren Layne which I loved, but then it took its own turn which I was even more happy about.
There is also a sort of mystery about the male protagonist from what I could grab, So I am really curious were that will lead to.
Really enjoyable read with a funny and charming protagonist that knows how to take care of herself.
I will definitely pick this up when it comes out.

I gave this book 4 stars, I enjoyed reading it. Loved that Samiah was strong independent woman of color and believed in herself, really uplifting! I could feel Samiah and Daniels chemistry beyond the text, steamy is an understatement! This is my first book I've read from Farrah Rochon and it won't be my last!

YES, PLEASE! This immediately went on my TBR after my best friend read and reviewed the ARC. After having a small taste of it myself, I've immediately preordered this beauty and am so excited to read the rest of what is going to be a fantastically fun ride!

I am so happy that I decided to check out the extended preview for this book. If the first 50 pages are any indication, this is going to be a wild ride of a story.

It's hard to have a feel for who these characters will end up being by the end of the book, but Samiah is off to a particularly strong start. She's facing a catfisher with determination and pride, bonding with her fellow women instead of competing with them, and handling nosey co-workers with grace. In so many ways, she is the woman I aspire to be. She has a hardline list of goals that might be hindering as much as helping her, but who hasn't been there? And besides, I'm getting the feeling that might be the point. I hope that we see her relationship with her sister and newly found girlfriends explored as much as her relationship with Daniel in the rest of the book.

Now for our dear Daniel. I'm honestly not sure what to make of him. He comes off a little too slick in our first interactions, but we only have two scenes with him in this preview. There is a lot of room for him to get fleshed out, and I'm looking forward to it, because honestly, if he ends up building on his current behavior it will sink the whole book.

I'm not going to write a full review having only read 15% of the book. I have pre-ordered a copy and look forward to finding out what happens in June!

Thank you to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for making this extended preview available!

This one seems to be a funny light hearted book with an emphasis on female friendship (even though they bond over being catfished by the same guy- I'll be interested to know if it passes the Bedchel Test) and a cute little rom com. Will definitely check it out. And extra points for diverse leads!

This book has it all! Steam, Sass, and Sexy! I love the overall girl power message that this book possess. It is strong without being scornful and laugh out loud funny. Because as much as we hate to admit, we have either been in Samiah's shoes or have had a friend who has.

This is a wonderful, light read and would highly suggest it to anyone in a funk or who needs a feel good read! Well done!

This book starts off with a bank and has you rooting for the main character right off the bat. What I could tell from this preview is that this book is going to be a barrel of laughs along with a good helping of soul searching, personal growth, and yes ROMANCE.

I look forward to getting my hands on the whole book.

This voluntary review is based on an extended preview galley from #NetGalley.

I am so in love with just this preview and plan on reading this novel. I loved the strong friendships created and the realistic qualities of the way things truly are. I am so excited about this story and can’t wait to read the full novel.

I received the preview of this book (first four chapters) and I really enjoyed it! I will say that the beginning of the book is a bit slow for me, however I loved the friendship that formed between the girls who were screwed over by Craig. I'm excited to see how Taylor and London will have a role in Samiah's life. I like Daniel's character but he hasn't made that much of an impression on me yet. It was a little bit convenient that no one but Daniel had Samiah's back when the video was going around, but I was in the mood for something light and cute and this was definitely it.

The Boyfriend Progect is a romantic comedy set in Austin, Texas. The lead character, Samiah is successful in all areas of her life except finding love. The book opens with the Samiah preparing for a date while her sister narrates a person live tweeting a bad date on Twitter. As the story unfolds it becomes clear to Samiah that her boyfriend is two timing her and she sets out to ambush his date.

This is a fun read. The pacing is fast and this is an easy read. I love the instant camaraderie London, Taylor and Samiah form in response to cheating Craig. It is refreshing to see them unit against him versus fight over him.
The first half of what I read was very conversational. Like sitting in on a chat with girlfriends. An example would be the scene after London, Taylor and Samiah confront Craig on his cheating and lying. The second half describes Samiahs work place. The writing appears different here. Very descriptive. Enjoyed sections about her workplace, colleagues and her role in this section. An awkward moment in the writing occurs when Samiah meets Daniel. Not sure if this was because it was an excerpt but the conversation on first meeting between Daniel and Samiah odd for a first meeting. Not sure why they would discuss her video, somethings she is embarrassed about especially at work.

This book is compared to books by Jasmine Guillory. Though what I’ve read is enjoyable, I’ll need to read more to see if this is the case.
