These books are so joyous - beautifully illustrated and carefully written. They make perfect gifts for young readers, as a collection they look wonderful together. And, for the adults, who doesn't want a charming look at one of the most iconic stars of all time?

David Bowie was just a fascinating human. This was adorable and so fun to read. My little guy enjoyed the images and I loved introducing him to the Star man.

Another beautiful book from the little people, big dreams. As always, the illustrations are gorgeous, and the history is very short and easy to read. I think it's a great book for parents who love arts and want their kids involved in this world. A few details of the personality of David Bowie, very inclined to the artistic side of his character.

David Bowie by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is another release in the Little People, Big Dreams series, which I have reviewed frequently on here. I just love these little books. They are always packed with facts about the person who they are writing about and full of colourful illustrations throughout.

This book is about David Bowie's childhood, how he rose to rose to stardom in the music and film industry etc.
I found this little book full of easy to read, with great Illustrations throughout this small book.
It's one you should definitely buy for your little readers so they can learn about this wonderful Rock Star.

Another great addition to this series. I liked the different style of artwork and the progression of David's life.

"Ground control to Major Tom" is one of my all-time favorite songs. A cute introductory book for kids. The illustrations are colorful and will help kids easily understand Bowie's talents.

What a sweet little book! The illustrations are colorful and fun, with lots of detail. There isn't a lot of text, but there's enough to give little ones the main idea of David Bowie- that he was unique and never afraid to be himself, and that he followed his dreams.

David Bowie was never afraid to be who he truly was. Young people can definitely learn from this great installment to the Little People, Big Dreams collection. I am glad that, despite Bowie's death, children can experience his story and his music and be inspired by this great man.

Unfortunately I just didn't love this edition to the Little People, Big Dreams board book version of the series. Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with the digital copy.

This little book is intended for children aged 4-7 and is part of its publishers acclaimed ‘Little People, BIG DREAMS’ series that introduces young readers to the lives and works of significant people including artists, scientists, writers, political figures and the like via books and educational games.

David Bowie is one of my favourite musical artists and I thought that this was a delight. It’s not an easy task to condense a life into a few pages and I always appreciate Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara’s skill at doing this. I loved Ana Albero’s charming images that included a number of Bowie’s costumes and looks.

While my download only included the main text, the back cover shown on Amazon indicates that the actual edition contains the usual facts and photos at the back.

A great addition to this delightful series.

My First David Bowie is a new picture book biography for the youngest readers in the Little People, Big Dreams series. I've reviewed a number of these titles and they all manage to pack an impressive amount of detail in these little books in an age-appropriate and accessible manner.

Due out 26th May 2020 from Quarto on their Frances Lincoln imprint, it'll be 24 pages and will be available in boardbook and ebook formats.

Written by Isabel Sánchez Vegara it's well written in clear accessible language. The gentle and sweetly humorous illustrations were well done. I loved the series of pictures of Bowie through his different stage incarnations. The art by Ana Albero is appealing and colorful and supports the text very well. The illustrations are rich in small subtle details which bear a closer look (like the little green alien who appears in cameos throughout the book).

Well written and appealing, I am really enjoying all of these little books. This one is a worthy addition.

Five stars. This would make a superlative reading circle book, classroom library book, or gift. Bowie was an intelligent and important cultural icon.

A very short story about David Bowie that had some problems with flow. It had great potential. The pictures were fun and it could have been a nice story but it left me feeling like it needed more.

My 9yo daughter didn't seem to like it much either. But if you have a younger child perhaps this would be enjoyed more.

I just love this series of books about modern and historical icons, presented in a way perfect for curious young minds! This one delves into the childhood of the late great legend David Bowie who is world-famous for his unique style and numerous stage 'characters' just as much as for his huge catalogue of music.
Beautiful, colourful illustrations accompany the text to make a book that is ideal for young readers gaining confidence at reading alone, but it also makes a great read to curl up together with a parent, sibling or grandparent and read aloud.
I am a big (as in keen as well as adult!) Bowie fan and think this is a great way to introduce kids to this groundbreaking musician.

The Laughing Gnome is a great place to start when introducing children to David Bowie :)

This is a board book version in the series from the critically acclaimed, multi-million copy best-selling Little People, BIG DREAMS. The books introduce young readers to artists, scientists, political activists, writers, actors, musicians, dreamers- people such as Amelia Earhart, Maya Angelou, Alan Turing, and Mother Teresa, to name a few. When I saw the cover with David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust, I had to read this book. I would have devoured this series when I was a child and been over the moon if I could have had one on David Bowie.

This one is best suited to ages 5 to 8 years old, but certainly the colorful illustrations would please the eyes of younger readers too. The best thing it teaches is that it’s okay to be different, to explore the arts in it’s various forms and that you start small and are always becoming. No one becomes famous overnight, it takes effort, and always dedication to your dream. As David liked to dress in a ‘spectacular fashion’, it’s good to dazzle the world with your unique style and it’s okay to express yourself through clothes, music, art- simply to give life to your voice in any form you like to be heard.

A cute, educational, fun series that adults can use to teach children about well known people from all walks of life.

This was my first time reading one of the Little People, Big Dreams collection. I’ve seen and heard so many good things about these books, so when I saw this one on Net Gallery I knew I had to request it straight away. I am very thankful for Quarto Publishing Group for accepting my request.

I read it with my 11 month old daughter and she was so intrigued by the bright illustrations. The illustrations captured the star perfectly and the text was simple to follow.

Personally, I really enjoyed the fact children can learn about the infamous legends and icons that shaped our world. I love how these books can inspire children to be whoever they want and to follow their dreams. I also learnt some interesting facts myself, like how David Bowie eyes came to be two different colours.

I will definitely be ordering more of this collection, in the future for me and my daughter to read together.

This was a short and fun read with pretty illustrations, and I’m sure kids will enjoy it a lot. A great addition to the Little People, Big Dreams series.

I absolutely adore this series. Even though I´m not a child, obviously, they are still educational and I love reading them for my baby sister as English practice.
