This series is a really lovely way to introduce some of the world's biggest icons. It tells a very simple story about how David Bowie grew up loving music and creating his own style and how it let to him becoming one of the world's greatest stars. It's easy and accessible for children to read and the illustrations are lovely and stylish too.

I enjoyed this short picture book about David Bowie's life. As a big Bowie fan, I want to share this book with the kids in my life. The artwork is clean and detailed, and the story gives just enough to spark a child's interest in learning more about this amazing man.

Cute and adorable, child appropriate book that conveys a message of acceptance and pride in being yourself. Bowie is portrayed as unique and creative but it's not presented in a way to make it seem like he is "weird". No negative connotations are given and I love that. We don't need more "othering" to promote acceptance. The best way is to present things that show that everyone is different from everyone else and thats normal and fine and no big deal. I'll definitely be buying this one for my daughter.

I love all of the books in this series and this is no different.

It gives just enough information for early readers to pique their interest and maybe find out more.. Even reading this now as an adult, I've found new information. I think this is another reason I love this series of books so much.

This would be a welcome addition to any classroom;.

Though it is greatly appreciated that such an accessible book has been written on david Bowie, exposing his musical career to such a young audience, I feel like this story was lacking when in comparison with some others in this series. When compared to other such as the Bob Dylan book for example, it told the story almost in a bullet point way, whereas the Bob Dylan version had a deeper message of being your self more securely emplanted in the book. The reason I mention this specifically is that is also a main characteristic of David Bowie that should have been celebrated in an equally interesting way.

This short and sweet little book about David Bowie is an excellent introduction to the musical legend.

I think books like these are not only great to introduce younger readers to famous individuals, but great for showing the unique life many people have led. Not everyone is "normal" or had a "normal" upbringing. Look at David Bowie and his incredible journey - he's such a wild card of a person and he's loved for it.

My favourite part of this book is the pages where it shows David in all of his wild outfits. Nothing screamed David Bowie like that page - the creativity, the uniqueness, and the nostalgia I felt for that rockstar. Maria did an excellent job with this book! I am thoroughly impressed. These illustrations literally scream David Bowie in all forms!

My only critique is that I wish this book was a little bit longer. There could have been a little more about his creativity and songs since he does have all of the exuberant outfits and performing history.

Overall, I thought this book was amazing! It's a great little read for young readers!

Three out of five stars.

Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing for allowing me an opportunity to read this story!

This was a super cute simple rundown of Bowie's life. I especially enjoyed the art of his various costumes.

My daughter loves music so she got really excited seeing this book. It's a quick, simple read which means it's a bit vague about his life. My daughter though loved the story and told me that he was very creative, unique, and inspiring. She enjoyed the illustrations as well and made sure that I knew that he was portraying an alien not just someone in a very strange outfit. She looks forward to more books in this series and wants me to find another book on Bowie.

I adore these types of books and I feel like David Bowie is one key artist to inspire tons of children around the world. The illustrations and colors used are absolutely gorgeous, but I just wish the story was a big longer and it explored more about his sexuality and androgyny, since I think it could help a lot of kids coming to terms and accepting themselves.

I was so glad to have the chance to read this lovely little book.
I have always been a great David Bowie fan, and I think his genius and his love for music really changed the world for the better. He was one of those people whose personality and whose ideas have brought light to the lives of many many people and we should be glad we had the chance to have a man like David Bowie with us. A man who walked on a fine line for all his life and who helped people accept themselves in the best of ways.

These books really are a blessing. I think young kids can really get the best from them and learn about great minds and great people. The illustrations are the cutest and I can't recommend this series of book enough.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This book is another fantastic short and inspirational book for children about famous people who had dreams and went after them.
I didn't know David Bowie wasn't born with different coloured eyes and will be researching more into that out of curiosity.
The only thing I wish this book would have included is David Bowie starring in the Labyrinth film as its one of my all time favourite films but thats just an idea that could have been included. But as always, the book flows smoothly, makes sense and sparks questions and interest about the person it is written about.

Little People, Big Dreams is a series of short books for children about extraordinary people who change the way we're looking at the world. It's an enjoyable piece of non-fiction kids' literature to savor along with your tiny humans. I love biographies of people who dared to be different, and these short books are becoming one of my favorites.

I'm not an art-savvy person, so please forgive me to call this graphic style childish but I mean it in a good way only. Every page spontaneously puts a smile on my face because the illustrations remind me of all my favorite books from childhood I read with my mum.

David Bowie is a brief K-1G level read about a famous musician. You can learn how his eyes got their unique colors and see his iconic performance styles.

It's shorter than most books for children on this level and not very insightful. I liked the illustrations that remind me of vintage children's books with a simplistic style and sepia color palette. Used font is bold and plain, which makes this book easier for beginner readers.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and feelings are my own.

This is another great book to add to the Little People, Big Dreams collection and their My First range!

I love this series as they are perfect introductions to young people about some of the most famous and influential people from our past and present and are also a reminder about how these people have also changed our history.

5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended and can't wait for my daughter to get involved in the series

This very colourful book is not so much about the personal history of David Bowie but what an unique person he was, and how his fame and weirdness in public spoke to other people and inspired them to do their own thing.

There is a rundown of his most famous customes, and of course, Ziggy Stardust is depicted.
A fun book if you want to share your favourite musician with your little ones while they may be still to small to understand the lyrics.

I recieved a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book did not align with the expectations set by the other books in the series of Little People, Big Dreams that I have previously read. Even though half of the book was sent to me, it did not keep my interest to even see what was going to happen next. I do know what will happen next, but the language used in the beginning of the book was broad and unspecific. I realize that this book is for children, but the language was so dumbed-down in comparison to the other books in the series.

There’s an adorable children’s book on David Bowie coming out this May. It’s part of the Little People Big Dreams series. I love the illustrations! It’s a simple story about the rise of David Bowie. I would definitely buy this for a baby gift but it would also be a nice addition to anyone’s Bowie collection. #MyFirstDavidBowie #LittlePeopleBigDreams #mariaisabelsanchezvegara #DavidBowie #netgalley
