I loved this! I've loved all of the previous books in the "Quick & Easy Guide" series and this one is no exception. The author gives a great overview of what consent means, how to consent, and when to consent. Should definitely be mandatory reading for anyone.

The title tells you pretty much everything you need to know about the book A Quick & Easy Guide to Consent. Everything you could need to know about consent is clearly explained with images to back up the verbiage, in case any potential confusion exists. This book is a must for the sex ed curriculum.

I need this book to be handed out to every junior high student immediately. This is the perfect sex-ed book that covers more than just consent. It covers sexuality, different types of sex, and different types of contraception. I wished I had this book when I was younger. This is a one-stop-shop for the basics of sexual activities. I am so glad that this book exists! It is easy to understand so the younger audiences can get everything they need to know from this book. People of varying different sexualities and genders will find themselves in these pages unlike a lot of the sex-ed courses that are taught in very few schools in the US. This is a perfect book about consent and just sex in general.

This graphic novel is an open and honest introduction to the topic of affirmative consent. In particular this book explores consent for sexual acts. This book is intended for readers ages 16 and over. The content is mature, but not explicit. The information contained in this book is necessary for all teens and young adults to understand. This book presents facts in a straightforward manner while including information about many types of relationships, not just heterosexual ones.

This is the second book from the "Quick & Easy Guide" series that I have read (I've also read "A Quick and Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns"). I intend to read all books in this series and put them into the hands of high school students who need this information to make safe choices.

That being said, the start of the book is a bit wordy and I wonder if some parts could have been written in more teen-friendly language. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars.

This is a graphic novel style for young adults about consent. It is very informative in a wide variety of areas and very inclusive of gender and sexual orientations. However, the content was a bit dense at times and used language/concepts that may not be known to all, like the term "heteronormative." Overall, this provides a lot of clarification and value. As someone in their late thirties, I wish consent was as regularly discussed in the 90s as it is now.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.

This book lived up to it's title and provided a quick and easily accessible explanation of what can seem like a difficult subject. The breakdowns of the goal of affirmative consent as well as the ways in which consent can be in question (and what to do when that happens) was treated seriously but managed to keep the reading light. The humor was spot on and the illustrations were very engaging.

A very well written and inclusive guide on the topic of consent. The book does an incredible job at breaking down what consent is, how to obtain consent, and how to recognize and act accordingly when consent is not given, or is not able to be given.
This book would be an incredible resource for teenagers, who are the target audience. It relays important information in a way they can understand and absorb. Additionally, the book does not focus on heterosexual couples, which is very necessary when learning about sex and consent. Even though the book is a comic, different characters reflect different races, so the inclusion of interracial couples was a welcome change from the typical white washed form of sex education.
One thing to note about the book is before it even starts, it is clear to the reader what the book is... and what it is not, which is very important. The author also cites sources very well and welcomes readers to learn in addition to the book they are reading.
I will say the book is *incredibly* cheesy. The character teaching about consent is named Sergeant No Means No from the Consent Calvary. Despite the cheesiness though, the book proves to be a factual and informative resource that will help readers navigate to have healthy, consensual sexual encounters.

This is a graphic novel for adults about consent. It is very informative, but a little bit content heavy and at some times hard to get through.

a great digestible educational graphic novel on consent. I think a lot of youngsters or even adults would benefit from reading this book.

I have read two other books in this series: 'A Quick and Easy Guide to Queer and Trans Identities' and 'A Quick and Easy Guide to Sex and Disability'. I absolutely loved the other books in the series, which it why I was so eager to read this one too.

This graphic novel was absolutely wonderful! I have nothing but good things to say about it! It is an educational tool, personal empowerment tool, light-hearted, informative graphic novel that has wonderful illustrations, good humour and above all respect for the topic of sexuality, sexual behaviours and consent. I really liked the clear content warnings displayed at the beginning of the book, they were very clear and simple but very important. I definitely believe this book and the others I have read should be used within high schools and further education. I thought the way the book educates the readers on the topic of consent is spot on and covers absolutely every topic you could think of. One thing in particular that I thought was very important was the clarification in the difference between being okay with something and actually wanting something.

Books like this are a clear example of how powerful literature can be and it should be appreciated and utilised greater than it currently is. This book is for everybody. Old and young, able bodied and those with a disability, those of any gender and sexuality, sexually experienced or not. It shrinks the taboo, raises awareness, improves education and is a fantastic little book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book to read and give my own, honest opinion.

This book is fantastic! This should definitely be taught in schools or be included in a summer reading list of some sort. Heck, there are a lot of grown adults who need to read this book and educate themselves on consent. I love how openly the book wants to incentivize the discussion of consent with your significant other. Consent should be gotten loud and proud as should a no should the situation change.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for review.
This book is wonderful, it's in the same vein of The Care and Keeping of you books in that it handles sensitive topics in an age appropriate way. But this is a lot more queer friendly!
I used to volunteer as a sex educator for middle school students many years ago and I once had a student ask me how lesbians have sex. This book and the language in the What is Sex? section would have been a helpful resource at that time and can still be incredibly useful for teens and up.

This book is a graphic novel guide on consent that has a character that goes by the name of "Sarge". Sarge helps a couple learn about the general idea of consent. When they understand he goes to a nearby bar to cover some additional topics on consent. This book is thorough and uses language that is easy to understand. There is a section that covers the details of different ways to have sex and briefly touches on the details of what it means to say no and not have that respected. The book does start with a content warning to help the readers be aware of this. I read this preview to get an understanding whether or not it would be appropriate to purchase for my library's YA collection. I'm a little torn but may ultimately purchase it for the collection because it is important information even though one part went into a little more detail than some may find appropriate if they were just browsing in the YA department. The other issue a random browser may have is at the end they have a check list that couples can use together to get an understanding of what the other is comfortable with, this is a great idea but some may have an issue with the detail it lists. I think this is a great book overall and is a great tool to use to have conversations with older teens who are in need of it in their relationships. I also liked how Sarge had a way of telling the audience the information like Adam Connover in Adam Ruins Everything. The characters in the book were light and fun so it was easy to read though.

plot: in this graphic guide on consent, sarge explains how easy and moreover important it is to know what consent is, to set boundaries for yourself and accept those that others set for themselves. in a funny, entertaining and feminist way, sarge answers all your questions on consent that you didn't even know you had!

5/5🌟: not often non-fictional books will make me tear up, but this one was just so perfectly executed! first of all i was so glad to see that there were trigger warnings in the beginning, which is super important, especially when talking about sexual violence, rape etc. sarge, the person, who takes the role of the educator, casually includes that they use they/them pronouns. i didn't expect this and it was so damn great to see this kind of casual nb representation. on top of that, everything that sarge teaches you is focused on all genders out there, everyone gets included in their explanations and graphics! i truly wish that (you and) every library and school out there will order this book once it's out, the topic is so important and i think it could work wonders, if children would just finally get educated on this. i really can't hear another 'boys will be boys' again, please read this book.

thanks to netgalley i received an early digital access copy in exchange for an honest opinion.

In this comic we follow a Sargent who teaches different people about different kind of consents, sex and so much more. It provides so much insight about sex and consent in a friendly way that is easy to understand for everyone. I really loved how it included all these types of sex, genders and sexualities. Boy do I wish I've read this two years ago. I highly recommend reading this! Definitely a must have for high schools and even for you to have in your personal collection.

A Quick & Easy Guide to Consent is just what the title says. It informative, concise, and fun. Discussing sex and consent can be uncomfortable. It seems to be the opposite of sexy. This book simplifies the subject and gives the reader a convincing argument for using an affirmative yes. It also shows how this can make for better sex because by empowering partners to give feedback. I recommend this book to anyone that is or plans to be sexually active.

I wanted to like this book as it looked short and accessible and covers an incredibly important topic. Unfortunately, I cannot imagine anyone in the target audience getting through it. The set up is juvenile (feels like a comic version of an after-school special) and talks down to readers. The intentions were great, but the execution fell short.

Thank you to the publisher for giving me a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I feel like a lot of people in society nowadays could learn a lot of this book. I know for a fact that many people alive today do not know what it is like to actually get consent from someone so I think this book is really important.

Just because you don't hear a "No." doesn't mean that you have their consent. Periodtttt.

This book really lives up to its title. It is quick and easy to understand and covers all bases and questions people might have. I think it would be a very helpful book to have in high schools and on college campuses. I think the art is really cute, but I hope it's in color for the final print. I also really love the personification of the consent teacher "Sarge". It's very humorous without taking away from the seriousness of the topic. I also 100% love and appreciate how inclusive it is.
