4 Stars for A Corporate Attraction by Belinda Wright

ARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own & have not been influenced in any way.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

Nicole meets Chris and tells a little white lie that she is a yoga instructor. They share a weekend together - neither think it’s going anywhere / just having fun. Upon Chris’s return from the states we find out that he is partners in Reeves & Costner Consultants working on the reorganization & workforce reduction of Stylez. Nicole works for Stylez as a menswear designer & is offered a promotion as part of the reorganization that will have her ( if she accepts ) moving to Portland , Oregon.

I really liked the plot of this book & characters. It’s not just your straight forward office romance but packs quite the emotional punch when these two decide things are over between them. There is a HEA however ...

Great quick read that kept my interest & attention !

I recommend this book & author !

This was a DNF for me. I found the writing odd. It was choppy for me. I could not get into this story because of the writing.

GET THIS BOOK ASAP!
Wow there isn't anything I did not love about this book. The chemistry between Nicole and Chris is off the charts. Belinda Wright manages to tell a tale about steamy romance I'm a way that makes it relatable and within reach for us all. You really get to know and understand the two main characters which is something that sometimes lacks in other stories. This books is definitely going on my bookshelf. I hope to hear more about these two main characters in the future.

5/5 Stars

Wow, what a great Cover. This man looks very hot. The story is great and the characters are very sympathic.

I don't think this book is for me, because of the imbalance of power between the hero and heroine, but I look forward to seeing what else Belinda Wright has to offer.

I found this an easy read for a lazy afternoon, Chris and Nicole were good characters and I enjoyed the storyline. I would have enjoyed a little more input from the other characters but for the most part it was a nice book and I did enjoy it.

DNF
Thank you Netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
(May contain spoilers up to chapter 4)
This book was a DNF for me. Even just reading chapter 1 took a couple of tries to read. I made it up to chapter four, it was that bad. It felt very cringe worthy. From the very first minute he brought her back to his place and stopped to go take a shower since he stunk, when in theory you would just need a shower after sex… He didn’t even dance so I’m not sure how he smelled bad from not doing anything besides drinking a beer. Then the sex scene happened, and it was rushed, felt very unreal, and weird. Super weird. They barely talked and all of a sudden they wanted to have a one night stand but she didn’t want to ask any personal questions, but that’s exactly what she did. Also I’m sorry but if you go somewhere with your friend to meet her boyfriend and you leave with another guy wouldn’t you let your friend know so at the end of the night she’s not looking for you?
This book was disappointing. I’m still sitting here like what the heck did I just read!

I always love a good office romance—there's always so much tension afoot—which as everyone knows is what makes a great romance.

Nicole and Chris were both great characters that come off as very likable.

My only complaint is some of the issues were not resolved by the end of the book. Those are things that will irritate me in books.

I had trouble reading this story as it seemed a bit disjointed and didn't seem to flow.

Although side dialogue can be fun and add to the overall enjoyment of a good read, I found this sort of interfered with the flow of the story as it was too detailed and took attention away from the actual story.

So I'm sorry to say that at chapter four I abandoned it.

A Corporate Attraction by Belinda Wright is the story of Chris and Nicole.
Nicole and Chris find themselves together for what was planned for just a night. But they learn that they will be working together because Chris is doing the company reorganization. Which means they can't be together or at least out in the open. This was a easy romance read with not a bunch of drama that can sometimes take over the story. Enjoyed this book.

This author is a first for me and I was instantly drawn to her book by the blurb. I hadn’t realised, when I requested this ARC, that it is part of a series and that the other couple in the story have already had their story done.

In this story, Nicole meets Chris (who is visiting the U.K.) through her friend, Luna and his friend/business partner, Brent. The attraction between the two of them is palpable and they both agree on a no-strings attached, one night only, hook-up, where no personal information is exchanged.

Before their night out, Luna talks Nic into not telling the men what they do for a living- Luna had previously told Brent she was a yoga teacher, as she wanted to keep things light because she didn’t think things would go anywhere.

Fast forward a week or two and this all changes. Their jobs are revealed because Chris and Brent are the consultants brought in to help the company (that employs Nic and Luna) with their restructure. Due to a conflict of interest, Chris and Nicole deny knowledge of knowing each other and set about their days avoiding each other. This forbidden romance has many bumps in the road, but for me, it could have been developed further.

I am a big fan of books that have a dual narrative, like this one - I like being able to get into the minds of the main characters, as I feel it gives a bit more depth to a story. It also makes the book a quick read, as you’re invested in the story and it makes you want to know what both characters make of things. For me, the dual narrative worked in the sense of it allowed both perspectives, but I don’t feel like any real depth was developed and in parts the story felt rushed (particularly the Epilogue).

If you’re after a really quick and easy read, which you don’t have to give much thought to, then this could be the book for you.

Thank you to NetGalley and Troubador Publishing Ltd for this ARC, in exchange for an honest review.

I didn’t realise until after reading this book and reading the reviews that this book was a series. To me that is a sign of a good book as I got enough background on the characters to be able to read the book in a nice flow.
The story was easy to follow and now I understand why we didn’t get much input about Luna or Brent. I would have liked more input from Angel though.
I also thought the epilogue was rushed and spoilt the ending slightly.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

I voluntarily read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine

This is the second in a series and I was lucky enough to read the first one so was thrilled to be able to read the second instalment

I enjoyed this just as much as the first

Loved the characters and the story - with a very satisfactory HEA

Would recommend the series

I'm not going to lie, the title and description drew me in but once reading the book, I felt like it took too long for me to be interested in. The conflict wasn't really a big deal and at the end, it doesn't really get solved? It just gets swept under like it never happened and I felt like the female character made her life harder than it truly had to be. The appeal of the book wore off when I wished it was just better written and perhaps longer because it did feel rushed but I think that the idea was there just not fully flushed out to its potential but if you want to read a quick light story to just pass the time, you might enjoy it.

I wanted to love it - it was a quick and fun book, but Nicole really drov eme crazy with the whole redundancy/relocation question. And she was so quick to assume that nothing would work out in her favor in all aspects of her life. Chris was interesting and smart but took some very unnecessary risks that made me crazy. Overall, it was fine.

First book I’ve read from this author- fairly quick read. Few parts were a little wordy but overall liked it. Didn’t realize this was part of a series, would recommend reading the first for some background on the other side characters that had a part in this storyline as it would have felt fuller and richer. Without background felt a little off but now it makes sense

I’m not going to lie, this book took me a few attempts to really get into it. It started off a little slow and boring. After I was able to get passed that, I really enjoyed the book. I did notice some errors in the book, mostly spelling/ grammar related. Another thing that I noticed was how the description of Nicole changed. At the beginning of the story, Nicole’s hair was described as brown, while later on her hair was described as black. Not major issues, but simple overall conflicting things. I love the premise of the time.

I received this book in exchange for an honest opinion on NetGalley.

I love the idea of the book (friends hooking up with business partners) with a tiny lie that gets blown out of proportion. While we got a ton of backstory on Nicole in terms of her family and friends we got absolutely nothing about Chris. I want to know what motivates Chris to want Forbes, what his family is like, what past love experiences has he had? Even the tone of the book is spoken from a very young perspective both from Chris and Nicole and certainly not the insights of a 32-year-old woman or a 40-year-old man.

The author painstakingly went into detail with a lot of auxiliary characters and I am not sure what the purpose of it was as it did not necessarily link back to the story, It seemed very odd to me that Chris who was a stickler for keeping things private and not wanting the matter to become public knowledge would so openly attack someone for a by the way statement (not a reaction by a 40-year-old man).

A lot of the scenes seem a bit exaggerated there was also a lot of emphasis on the UK vs. America. All in all it was a lot of disjointed scenes that didn't really come together for me but I wouldn't mind reading something else by the author jus to see if this style of writing continues.
