As someone who loves to reuse, recycle and overall reduce waste as much as I can, I really appreciate this book and all of the tips Kat Nouri provides! We truly can prevent so much waste by shopping for food the smart way and from the kitchen alone. The recipes look delicious (I definitely will be trying a lot more of these in the next few weeks) and the pictures are simply stunning. Love this book.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Excellent reminders in this book about preparing lunch in a sustainable and plastic-free way. From food wraps to storage bag solutions. Useful for someone new to these concepts and looking for inspiration. Photography is beautiful and the recipes are delicious!! I am terrible at coming up with lunch ideas so its nice to see some healthy and tasty ideas in here.

Writtten by the founder of Stasher. The recipes seem okay and reader gets a meal plan for the week. The reader gets some other on the go tips.

What I loved about these recipes is that they are simple and made with easy-to-find ingredients for all kinds of diets. The recipes have a simple format and almost all include a photograph. Each recipe also includes a small eco tip that is great for cutting down on food waste. Most of the ingredients used throughout the book are common and readily available at the grocery store. However, the recipes are rather ordinary and nothing stood out for me.

First of all, mad props to Stasher for donating proceeds from this book to No Kid Hungry. Leading with that knowledge made the whole rest of the reading experience all the more enjoyable.

Also, love the bright and colorful photography in this book that makes meal prep feel far less gloomy and utilitarian than the norm.

Despite the vested interest of the book’s author, the product placement never felt overbearing - and they offered alternatives to their products in many instances, too. Some of these reuse tips sure seem counterintuitive in the age of COVID, though... will be interesting to see how that all plays out and what’s acceptable again in the healthier future.

Thank you to Net Galley and Chronicle books for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Lunch is such a difficult meal around my house! We aren’t sandwich people and don’t always have leftovers. I appreciate the variety of ideas and recipes in this book. I’m anxious to try the baked tofu and the BBQ chickpeas. They both sound like wonderful building blocks. We’re all preparing so much more food at home these days, it’s good to have new recipes and ideas.

I really enjoyed this book. The recipes are, fresh, friendly, and appealing on many levels (healthy, quick, environmentally sound). They would appeal to all age groups. I predict this will be a popular addition to anyone’s cookbook collection.

Unfortunately, this book was a bit disappointing. The recipes were a bit complicated and time consuming to be suitable for a quick lunch. They were also limited in variety and practicality. Carmalized onions for lunch? Really?

I was hoping for recipe options that would provide quick, new lunch ideas. Even lunch ideas for working from home... but these seem to be too time consuming without ample meal prep commitment. No thanks.

The photography in this book is well done. There were some great ideas in the book and I applaud the author's commitment to environmentalism. The recipes were somewhat basic, I didn't find many that I was interested in.

What a great idea! Delicious lunches that have a low environmental impact. Not only is this cookbook packed with dozens of yummy lunch ideas, it also gives smart tips about how to pack your lunch with less waste, how to make less kid-friendly items more kid-friendly, meal prep ideas and weekly menu plans. So smart!

DISCLAIMER: In return for a honest and fair review, I was provided with a digital copy of this book by NetGalley

This treasure is just what the world needs. Nouri discusses the epidemic of plastic and non-biodegradable ending up in landfills. She admits it is a monumental issue, but if one person at a time uses planet-friendly methods, we can make a difference.

She gives advice on containers and storage of ingredients, along with the delightful recipes for a healthy, delicious lunch.

Much like the minimalist theme of the book, the photographs are gorgeous and not cluttered.

I would definitely buy this volume.

Short book of lunc recipes but very easy to make. I loved the smoothie recipes as well as the chicken noodle soup recipe. Liked that it included pictures along with the recipes!

This is a beautiful cookbook with some delicious recipes that are not complicated at all to make. These recipes are easy to make and great for bringing to the office for lunch or for keeping at home if you don't want to make lunch or a small dinner that night.

Highly recommend! 5 out of 5 from me!

This cookbook is well-organized the photos are absolutely lovely. The introductory section will be great for those just starting to become more eco-conscious, and I appreciated that the author included additional resources at the end. As for the food itself, many of these recipes seem a little too involved for a simple meal prep lunch--and note that many are for two servings only (not that hard to double the recipe, though). I also agree with the reviewers who pointed out that this cookbook has a whole lot of meat for something designed to help people reduce their environmental impact, but that didn't remove any stars for me as it is not explicitly marketed as a vegetarian or vegan cookbook. I will probably end up making use of several of the soup and sandwich recipes, but not much else.

I like the design of this book. Some of the recipes look delicious, and I have to try them. I like the idea of a more sustainable home and cooking, and I appreciate vegetarian food. I like the fact that you can prepare food in advance. But I prefer simple recipes with simple ingredients, and I would expect more vegetarian recipes. Anyway, this is a good cookbook.

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this! All opinions are my own.

Thank you Chronicle books and Netgalley for this ARC.

Nat Nouri is the inventor of ‘Stasher’ , reusable silicone bags for lunches, food storage.
Her recipe book focuses on recipes to make for lunches, in an effort To reduce waste and eat healthy food. Her book also contains Quite a bit of content on reusable products, (Stasher) to reduce waste.

The book has beautiful, perhaps Instagram worthy, photographs and a variety of healthy lunch recipes. .

It fell a bit short for me sadly. The recipes were mostly the usual suspects found in lunch based recipes books, Cobb salad, Caesar salad, frittata, soups, The presentation was beautiful but I would have liked the book to be more user friendly. For example each recipe was for two people so for families creating lunches for the week everything would have to be doubled or tripled, there was no nutrition information for recipes, there was no prep and cooking time for recipes, which I find a dealbreaker for me. Also, if you don’t carefully read the recipe before cooking (a mistake I’m sure we have all made at some point) you could be caught out, for example one recipe used baked tofu stirred through at the end, but the baked tofu was a seperate recipe that looked like it took a good hour or more to make.

All in all, a pretty book, but not one I would go to personally.

I requested this book on NetGalley as, like everyone else, I find it difficult to come up with lunch ideals, even when I'm working from home. I was hoping it would serve as inspiration and that I would be able to pick up some good recipes from it. Unfortunately, this cookbook wasn't really for me, although admittedly, this was probably no fault of the writer but more to do with my own tastes. At least half the recipes were meat-/fish-based, so as a vegetarian, I skipped straight past them. The vegetarian recipes weren't really anything groundbreaking and the only one I bookmarked to possibly try was for a spinach frittata. I'm sure there'll be people who enjoy this recipe book and find it really useful but that just wasn't the case for me.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Yum, Yum, and Yum! These recipes are delicious and whip up in a flash. I have tried many plant based recipes through the years, but they either lacked flavor or seemed to be step, after step, after step and take far too much time to make. You also needn't worry about a plethora of ingredients that are hard to find or require a trip to a specialty market. My favorite feature by far was all the time saving tips and helpful hints for buying in bulk and meal prepping. I personally don't care much for meal prepping but this book had a very practical approach and made it feel like less of a chore. Overall I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to incorporate more plant based meals into their diet.

I absolutely loved this cookbook! I’m a breast cancer thrives and cancer runs prevalently in my family, so the need of eating healthy is one of the most important things I strive for. This cookbook not only gives some great tasting recipes, but it also gives you sustainable and earth friendly tips about the items you use in the kitchen and in your life on a daily basis.

Great recipes, great insight and information as well as beautiful vibrant photos. 5 stars!! Totally recommend this book to everyone!
