I really appreciate the spirit of this book - creating waste-free lunches and the proceeds of the book will go to No Kid Hungry. The recipes aren't overly complicated but still healthy and satisfying. I'm bringing lunches to work now more than ever - so this book is perfect for me and is giving me lots of inspiration to think about how I can incorporate litter free lunches into my routine.

I absolutely loved this! I always struggle with making healthy but easy meals for lunch, and this cookbook included brilliant solutions! I loved how it included a section in the front for building blocks, which allows you to prep for the week! The book also included helpful guides to other pages to use together, or preparing different parts in advance! I will definitely use these to prep in the future!

These days, it can be hard to think of new ideas for lunch. Often, we settle for our wilted lettuce and tomato sandwiches' for the office and call it a day. With this in mind, I had high hopes for this book to give some new and inventive recipes, but also keep them relatively easy and manageable to make for an individual or a family portion! I also loved how it made the plant based recipes pretty accessible for even the most finicky of meat and picky eaters. The wonderful photos enticed me to the new recipes and each one that I tried truly delivered! My favorite one was definitely the Crispy BBQ Chickpeas!! So yummy!! Overall this was a wonderful recipes book that would be great if you're looking to change up or revolutionize your recipes rolodex!

Kat Nouri has given us an attractive and practical guide to preparing lunches for work, school, or home. Her guide is mainly geared to those who have little experience cooking or little knowledge of fresh food. Those who are just starting off in the kitchen are introduced to a wide range of ingredients (vegetables, grains, nuts, eggs, etc.) which can be used to prepare tasty lunches and are shown the various ways of incorporating them in a wide range of recipes. I like very much the table that shows how different ingredients can be used for making lunches throughout the week. Even those readers who are comfortable in the kitchen will find this table useful.. I also like that the recipes are fairly easy to follow and include both cool and warm dishes. I would give this book as a gift to young cooks and newly-weds to start them off in the kitchen on the right track.

Overall I really enjoyed this book! First of all, I like the play on words in the title for fixing lunch. Not only does the book help us to prepare/fix lunch but to also fix the problem of plastic and other waste that is created by many of our lunch short cuts, like single serving snacks.

The recipes in the book are extremely appetizing, and there are wonderful tips for buying in bulk and prepping ahead, in addition to eco-friendly options for storage. I look forward to physically going back to the office in the future so I can whip up some of these delicious and creative recipes!

The only drawback I would say is that the book reads in some ways like an advertisement for Stasher. I realize the author is the owner of that company, and in many ways it's not unlike a restaurant owner/chef writing a book and using it to talk about their business, but there is at least one recipe which requires a Stasher bag to cook eggs for a fritatta sandwich, and I was slightly annoyed by the repetitive notes on storing in Stasher bags and such (even though I get it--I'm just being honest on my initial feelings as I read it).

I was definitely intrigued to look up the brand when reading through the book. I think the product looks amazing but it seems extremely expensive for regular folks. I found that a little disheartening after reading some great ideas and feeling excited about reducing plastic waste, and then realizing the book is built on a great product that may not be affordable for many people. With that said, I still may consider purchasing some in the future, but at the moment it's not really in my budget.

That issue aside, I think it's a really versatile book with a lot of great ideas to revamp lunch. Lunch is one of the hardest meals to plan for because it needs to travel well and be easy to reheat, or be good cold. I think the book did a great job in covering these issues while providing a variety of recipes for all different tastes.

I am constantly looking for ways to keep my lunches fun and fresh and healthy -- this is the perfect cook book for just that. So many different options and variations that I will never again get bored with my lunches again. I loved the setup of this book - it made it very easy to read and use.

This book is full of really lovely photos, delicious recipes and lots of eco tips. My confession is that lunch is one of my favorite meals of the day and this book had lots of great ideas. The recipes were very user friendly and most of the ingredients were items you have in the kitchen.

I tried the Persian Frittata and it was just great. It was full of flavor and quite easy to make. I also made the apple streusel bars that my son just loved. I can't wait to try more.

This is a great addition to your cookbook collection. Thanks to Net Galley for a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.

The book has some beautiful illustrations, but I wish there were a lot more recipes. I felt it was a bit underwhelming at times.

This was more than just a book of recipes, it also contains tips on how to cut down on environmental waste that the typical lunch would create. The pictures in this book were beautiful. And the recipes were interesting, creative, healthy and delicious!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. This book is perfect for the times that we are living in now with everyone at home 24/7 and preparing 3 meals each day. This offered variety from my usual soup/sandwich menu. Gave a lot of ideas for lunches the whole family can enjoy.

I really enjoyed the simplicity and healthiness of this cookbook. I can't wait to try to Crispy BBQ Chickpeas or the white bean hummus. I don't have kids, but since I am working from home right now, this book is definitely going to help with planning lunches and executing them with minimal effort. I also liked the creativity behind some of the choices. Will definitely be adding this book to my meal rotation.

If you’re out to save the planet, and still eat lunch, you’ll want to pick up Kat Nouri’s cookbook, Let's Fix Lunch!: Enjoy Delicious, Planet-Friendly Meals at Work, School, or On the Go. Even if you aren’t on a mission to fix the planet, but still want to eat lunch, you may still want to pick up this cookbook. Sometimes it’s hard to think of something good for lunch, or good to put in children’s lunches, or prepare lunch for the office, and Nouri has come up with some very good and very tasty ideas. Although the recipes are mostly vegetarian, she has included plenty of chicken dishes and even an excellent roast beef sandwich.

The book includes side dishes that will appeal to everyone, and lots of dishes using chick peas, beans (the The White Bean Hummus is delicious), and tofu if you are into that. There are soups, lots of salads (Yum!), main dishes, and wraps. If you don’t purchase the book for any other reason, the recipe for Balsamic Caramelized Onions makes it worth it.

While there isn’t a photograph of each dish, there are enough to insure readers that someone has prepared these dishes and they are worth preparing. It would be nice to have more, but some of the recipes are good enough that it will make it worth having this cookbook anyway.

Saving the planet – climate change – are big right now, and this book includes plenty of hints and ways to do it without too much effort.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

Let’s Fix Lunch! Is a beautifully illustrated book, filled with on the go recipes. The illustration are the first thing I look for in a cookbook, and it sold me. There is a strong undercurrent of being environmentally friendly throughout. The author takes note to mark if things are vegetarian, kid friendly, make ahead and freezable. This is helpful for anyone on the go. Prep lists and example meal place was nice.

One things I would love to have seen is a few other common allergy notations or substitutions. Some of the environmental tips at the end of the book are obvious, like ‘grow your own herbs’. I noticed that the book was written in partnership with Stasher and their branded bags. By the end of the book it started to feel like a commercial. The branded mention of the bags on every recipe is not necessary, especially when you have the gorgeous imagery to sell the product. Overall this would make a great addition to anyone’s cookbook shelf.

I enjoy a cookbook that is well organized. This cookbooks has recipes labeled for make again and building block labels, along with school lunch friendly and freezable. The layout is beautiful and the pictures are stunning. I live in the Midwest, so sometimes cookbooks and our available produce doesn't jive. I was happy with the ingredients in these recipes not to far out there. I also really appreciated her reduce waste chapters and ideas.

There are some tasty-looking recipes in this book. I wanted to like the overall book more than I did, but on the whole I'd say I'm looking for options to make lunch simpler, not more complicated. Making my own peanut butter or pickles, and many recipes call for ingredients that I would have to buy specifically for that dish. It looks really lovely but I think I'm not quite the target audience.

Special thanks to Chronicle Books for providing our copy in exchange for an honest & fair review.

I've recently discovered Stasher bags & I love them. We've tried to make a real effort to decrease our plastic consumption.

I have two kids, ages 8 & 11. They won't eat any of the food featured in this book. DANG IT!

That being said, my husband & I would! The food photography is beautiful & the recipes are simple. I do like the meal prep at the beginning of the book. I wish there were a few more tips on how, when & the best way to use your Stasher bags.

I think this would be a great book for health-conscious young adults who are learning to cook.

I absolutely love every cookery book published by Chronicle Books, and Let's Fix Lunch! is a beautiful addition to their library.

With brilliant lists, meal plans and lifesaving tips, this how-to-save-the-planet-while-eating-lunch cookbook has just the right mix of basic but thorough.
The meals themselves are simple but inventive, and give great ideas of how to use the same everyday ingredients throughout the week in fresh and exciting ways.
Lunch can be a serious tripping point for those of us who are trying to go waste and plastic free, and I really welcome this book full of ideas for how to fix that.

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is new to the waste-free world, or anyone who is struggling to plan their lunches.

A beautiful cookbook for planning lunches! Whole, healthy ingredients are emphasized in these recipes. Some were a little fussy for me in terms of ingredients, but they were very doable. I especially loved the pages that give you lunch building block ideas. This is especially easy to reference when meal planning. I wish this book had more recipes, especially ones for picky eaters!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.
