"Hilarious and relatable comics about one young woman's life, relationships, and day-to-day humorous musings on why it's good to leave the house sometimes - and when it's better to stay home.
Cassandra Calin’s ability to document the hilarity of relatable everyday events in a series of webcomics has generated a huge following on social media. This beautifully illustrated compendium of first-person comics about the trials of the single life, school, stress, junk food, shaving, and maintaining a healthy self-image. Cassandra Calin's comics frequently highlight the humorous gap between expectations and reality, especially when it comes to appearance and how much she can accomplish in one day. This book is funny, lighthearted, introspective, and artistically stunning - the perfect gift for young women, recent graduates, and anyone who might need a little comedic incentive to leave the house today."
If you were able to leave the house today without losing it, I applaud you!

I thought this was filled with very cute and relatable comics. I feel like this is the perfect comic for every girl because I'm pretty sure most girls can relate to almost all of the things depicted in this book.
This is a quick read but really fun to flip through.

This was a super adorable book! I've been following Cassandra Calin on Instagram forever so it was awesome to see her comics all in one place like this. They are super relatable and I loved each one!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with an ARC for an honest review.

I enjoy following Cassandra on socials and was delighted by this book, especially in the time of quarantine, where we really can't leave the house! Cute comics that reflect the absurdity and truth of life, I especailly enjoyed the one where she is wearing the Hogwarts sorting hat and wishes for Gryffindor, only for the sorting hat to tell her: give it up, you're 30 years old! I felt that, and also wish I could be in a Hogwarts house! 🤣 Recommended, 14+.

I liked the art style in the graphic novel and really liked the whole thing really. I related to a lot of the things in this.

Cassandra Calin's "I Left the House Today!" is a delightful compilation of her short comics. They illustrate daily life so so well and are wonderful to read for a humbling laugh!

Thank you so much Netgalley and the publisher for providing me a free copy in exchange of my honest review!
It was SO CUTE and reletable!! I have always loved Cassandra's style and have been following her instagram for the funny comics and this collection did its justice!
So funny, includes all the happy, awkward and meh moments of life we can all relate!
Read it if you need to get out from a reading slump :)

I don’t read graphic novels often, but I’m so glad I read this one! Every single page made me laugh or giggle, and it was so relatable! I loved every second of reading it, and I will recommend this to everyone!

Yesterday I read this amazing comic by an artist I follow for quite some time on Instagram already.
Her comics are hilarious and make my day better every time I see one!
Especially as a girl and one with curly hair as well, her comics are even more relatable since they often include struggles as a woman or with your curly hair that won't behave the way you want it too.
I think her comics are so funny because they are 100% accurate and true!
I'm really in love with this and I'm going to reread it soon!
I can reccomend this to every girl out there, take a little time and look trough this book, it's really worth the time.
5/5 stars

For Millennials, I Think, Not Gen X
I picked up this book looking for a little light fun. I'll admit that I grew up reading comics like Calvin and Hobbes, Dilbert, Hagar the Horrible, Cathy, and the like. I've never checked out webcomics. I was kind of surprised at the topics addressed in this compilation. Perhaps it is my age, but I did not feel like these were related to any sort of activity (or nonactivity) of my particular life. So I didn't really connect to them. They felt like millennial navel-gazing, which is not my particular cup of tea. However, I could see the appeal to those in that age group and perhaps a little older. For me, however, they did nothing.

I realized that my notes/ keywords for this book review are almost exactly the ones from the synopsis... this book really was hilarious and relatable. This graphic novel is a collection of comics from a webseries, which I had not read until now. The collection is full of hilarious moments about being a female and also dealing with life struggles, one of which is leaving the house. Cassandra shares her issues with curly frizzy hair, her love of food and sleep and her life in these comics.
The comic themselves are pretty simplistic, no color, inked with no other fill. They have a good amount of detail and are quick and easy to read through a few or the whole collection, should you choose to. They range from comics with speech bubble to only visual representations and everything in between.
Overall this was a very fun read about adulting struggles and introvert struggles that really resonated with me. I would happily own and gift this book to my crazy friends and family members.

I absolutely loved the art style of this and it was cute and relatable in a lot of parts, though I’m not particularly fashion/make up knowledgeable 😂 I still enjoyed looking at it though.

This is super relatable and I feel seen. Short and sweet, these comics sketch out all those little everyday-things that are either hilarious, dumb or plain annoying, but with a sprinkle of humour that just makes it so happy. Laughed, cackled and snorted "same" or "it meeee" like I was paid to do it. Would've been a solid 5-star if it was a bit longer, that's the only grievance I had.

This was a cute, fun, light-hearted read. The comics are quite relatable, I'd say 95% of them were things myself, my spouse, or my friends have said, and it was so funny to see how she illustrated these everyday moments. I showed a handful of the panels to my husband as I was reading and we had some good laughs. I was a little sad when I got to the end of this little book, I'll be keeping an eye out for her comics in the future!

This collection of comics will appeal to introverts, homebodys, college students, and probably more people than anticipated now that we're all spending a little too much time at home. 🙃 Fans of Sarah's Scribbles and Catana Comics will want to check this out!

This was cute! I always enjoy Cassandra's comics a lot, and I luckily hadn't seen at least half or so of these. Cassandra Calin's style is so cute, and the little stories in the comics are really relatable for a lot of people, especially readers who menstruate (there are a lot of little jokes about periods that are honestly hilarious and so miserably accurate). All in all, I just had a really good time reading this and definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys this artist's work in general!

I was not previously familiar with Calin's work so I wasn't sure if I would like her comedy style. Luckily I thought this book was hilarious! Most of the gags featured in it are self-deprecating but still remain light-hearted and relatable. Calin definitely has a talent for capturing expressions, and I loved her comedic timing and raw honesty. Multiple strips in this collection were laugh-out-loud hilarious and I was sad to realize I had finished reading the last page. I would definitely recommend this book to other readers looking for humourous titles!

Very cute book. It's something you could reopen at any point and find it relatable. I would buy this as a coffee table book because it's super cute and a nice conversation piece. I also feel like the artist is really well known online so it'd be nice to own a piece of her work in print!

Really cute and endearing slice of life comics with a very clean art style, although I sort of feel bad about how bad the author/artist feels about her body. In a daily webcomic I can see it being cute and endearing, but it's a bit overwhelming in a collection. The comics about relationships, sleeping, spiders introversion, and snow were funny, and I really respect her ability to dive into the messiness of expectations and bodies (swimsuit shopping sucks for everyone, hairs popping up in strange places and maddening, and her comics about her period are frank and honest and might be uncomfortable if she didn't look so unflinchingly at the rest of her life). Fun and it'll be interesting to see how her comic sensibility evolves.

Readers both on NetGalley and Goodreads were hyping up this book and I was sitting here like "no way it's that good." I WAS WRONG.
This book is an absolute delight. It's got a simple premise, the book is pretty much a collection of short comics (no more than 4 panels) that feature and sometimes exaggerate real life moments. Cassandra's art style is simple and often hilarious, and each comic tells a complete story. I found myself laughing out loud while reading this and just having the time of my life. It's engaging, funny, and joyous. I didn't know the author before reading this, but now I want to know more! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who needs a pick-me-up or a smile!
