I Left The House today is a cute collection of comics about a college aged character dealing with daily life. This collection features comics from all 4 seasons and lots of scenarios that readers can relate to. Readers of Sarah's Scribbles and Dami Lee will find a similar style here. The line drawings were gorgeously done.

I loved this so much. It was such a delight to read, funny and relatable. Some may find this annoying and non original but as the focus audience I loved every panel. Not only is the art very cute, the lines are so true. Delighted that I was able to read this on publishing day. Well done Cassandra!

This book kept growing and growing on me until I started laughing out loudly. It has a particular, dry sense of humour which I find hilarious. Relatable situations such as choosing an outfit, a bad hair groundhog day (again and again), realising that the reality is usually very far from our expectations and lots of others.
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC provided in exchange for an honest opinion.

The illustrations were cute and most of the comics were relatable but this isn’t my type of humor. A lot of other reviewers seemed to love it so maybe it's just me.

Calin's art is SO fantastically expressive, and her line work is to die for. Combined with a fantastic sense for comedic timing, her comics are something really special. I laughed out loud several times.

Thank you to the publisher and #NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Considering the title and the toilet paper roll castle, this book seems eerily ironic given the current state of the world. However, do not let those facts fool you. Cassandra Calin's wonderfully astute humor and superior artistic renderings (the detail of the hair is amazing!) makes this publication a joyful escape.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I have seen a few of the comic strips on Cassandra's social media accounts and was glad to get to read more comic strips of hers.

I related a lot to her and found quite a few situations similar to things that happened to me. other things were just funny.

Cassandra's drawings are cute, beautiful and done with a lot of love for art.

This was such an adorable read! I was smiling and laughing too much at the illustrations as they were too cute and relatable. Cassandra Calin was able to make me feel that I am not alone in my daily struggles. Something I picked up from several pages of this book is that we always choose to believe in our high expectations, but in the end, reality (whether it is a positive or a negative thing) hits us very hard. Although there were a few panels I didn't connect to, nevertheless, it certainly feels like she was reading my mind because of how accurate and relatable it is. I surely had the greatest time reading and witnessing Calin's art.

I think this was a super fun collection of comics. Each page was a different scenario, but the story was about the everyday life of a regular woman. I found myself relating with almost every different comic, and being reminded of friends and family all throughout the book. This collection is especially relatable during quarantine. The artwork was gorgeous, and accurately depicted beauty standards vs. real life. I am generally not a fan of comic books being in black and white, as I feel that it takes away from the medium, but for this particular example I think it showed the mundaneness and normalcy of common life. Overall, I feel that this book would make a fantastic gift and would definitely recommend it for a light read.

Cassandra Caitlin does a great job capturing the little realities of life. This book made me laugh and also feel a little too seen 🤣. It's definitely a short read but a book I'd reread whenever I need a pick me up. My favorites are the expectations vs reality posts. It'd be a great gift for your favorite homebody!

**I received a pre-publication digital version of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.**

I loved this! The art style is cute, but the author/artist still manages to get the feeling of grossness across so well. I thought this was going to be a book cracking jokes about being an introverted hermit, but I was surprised by the range of topics covered. The content is very relatable, especially as a mid-20s cis-gendered woman. Binged the entire book in one sitting, and I look forward to her future releases!

I probably should be embarrassed by how relatable I found a lot of these comics. Sure, there were also a fair few that I personally didn’t relate to, but overall I haven’t felt so seen since Debbie Tung’s Quiet Girl in a Noisy World and Book Love. You know the kind of seen I’m talking about: the kind where you’re not entirely sure that the artist hasn’t been covertly following you and drawing your life for all the world to see.

Taking on a range of everyday occurrences, including the quest for adequate makeup, having your expectations and reality diverge just a teensy bit and the equally horrific experiences of losing sight of the spider someone else was going to take care of for you and someone calling your home phone.

A lot of comics had me nodding in agreement and others had me chuckling. There were a couple that went over my head but not enough to dampen my enjoyment. I just wish there were at least another 50 pages because it felt like I’d only just begun when I reached the final page.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the opportunity to read this graphic novel.

This book is a collection of anecdotal comics about the life of author Cassandra Calin. It was fun, hilarious, and incredibly relatable!

I loved this art style. It is beautiful, simplistic and cute!

Who knew that just four panels to convey such entertaining but specific emotions?
From the struggle of what it’s like to be to on your period to the pains of college finals and the pure enjoyment of watching Bob Ross - this book seems to cover it all.
My personal favorites were definitely the ones about her hair. Oh man, is that a struggle I can relate to.

I am such a fan of Cassandra Calin and can’t wait to get my hands on more of her work!

This was a fun collection of short comics about everyday life.
I didn't find it so much about (not) leaving the house, but more about everyday situations in all sorts of settings. Most of the topics and themes are centered around hair care/styling/problems, periods, fashion problems, college/work life, living with a partner, household problems, expectation VS reality and motivation. They were roughly sorted seasonally.

All comic strips were 4 panels or less, though I felt like some would have benefitted from more since I didn't always get the point or felt like I was missing something.

While I definitely found several relateable comics, there really were a lot (long curly) hair centered ones, and overall it's definitely a collection of personal moments and anecdoctes from the author's life rather than a generally applicable one.

A quick comic read that is fun to look at, and even if not all situations might apply to the reader the comics are definitely entertaining.

These comics were really cute and funny and I think I've seen Cassandra Calin's work around before because her illustration style was very familiar. Her drawings are excellent and the physical humour in them is great. They're mostly relatable, which is where the charm lies, and as a coffee table book this makes perfect sense, it's fun to flick through and find random pages with funny comics. The only criticism I have is that in places it felt like there was something missing. As these were clearly designed from a social media aspect, it felt like there should be a caption or title along with it to give each drawing context. Most of them were fine without it because I could use social context clues to work out what was happening but some of the comics honestly didn't make any sense to me, and some felt like they were missing a punchline to make them funny.

I have seen the works of the comic writer on social media before. I enjoy her strips. This book is collection of some of her strips. It is enjoyable as always.

Yes! It's time for another graphic novel by Cassandra Calin, and I could not be more excited! Not only do I love her work (and style), but I feel like I Left The House Today! Couldn't have come at a better (or more ironic) time.

I Left The House Today! Is all about little day to day events, but told in that comical way that I've come to love and expect from Cassandra Calin. Her character is so cute and quirky, and so completely relatable.

That is one of the many reasons I adore her comics so much. Other reasons include her tone, and the fact that she's willing to cover just about anything through her comics. Okay, the subtext (maintaining a healthy outlook on life – and about yourself) is also very much appreciated.

I would have loved this collection no matter what, if I'm being honest. The little jokes here and there about a quirky girl going about her life, dealing with the daily stuff in absurdly cute ways. It's all perfect. But the timing is what made me love it more than ever. Anybody stuck at home right now during social isolation probably knows exactly what I'm talking about here. It's a ray of sunshine – a reminder of what it will be like once again when we can all leave our houses. But seriously, I know that the timing wasn't planned, even so, it was so delightful to have something that made me smile so much.

Now onto the artwork itself! I love Cassandra Calin's style. She's capable of both incredibly detailed drawings, as well as quick little sketches. Both of them come to play in her series, but usually she's found this perfect balance between the two. It's both endearing and amusing, and thus perfect for the character she has brought to the page.
