Very cute board book for little ones. Children are always drawn to bright colors, so they’ll love the illustrations. Kids will learn about how to take care of pets which is super important. I read it as an ebook, so I can’t comment on the texture or size of the book. I received this copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was too cute and what a fun idea. I couldn't see the pop ups as it was a digital copy, but I think the premise is so cute. Love the illustrations.

I requested and received an e-ARC of this book from Carly Madden and Quatro Publishing Group through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This was a cute book; I like that it has food items hanging from the book to feed to the animals and that there are pictures on the back to show what the animals normally eat. I also like that children will be able to choose whatever food item they want to feed to each animal. Each time you read this book it could be different, you could be silly and feed every animal the same food, or all the wrong food, or you could be serious and feed them the appropriate food. Just a fun book.

This review is identical to Banana! as both books have dangly food items and animals to read, and both were just fun books.

This is an adorable interactive book that little ones will love. The vibrant bright illustrations highlight a familiar pet, ( cat, bunny, parrot, doggie), mouth agape, pleading to have a tasty snack dropped into their mouth by the reader. Each pet is a v-fold pop-up which kids will be delighted to feed. A dangly item of food is hanging from the spine of the book. Kids problem solve as they choose the perfect snack for each animal to enjoy.

The book will spark conversations about proper animal care and allow kids to practice eye-hand coordination in a playful, fun way. Of course they can mix up the food and engage in "silly play" which will result in lots of giggles and frivolity. It's a winner for sure.

I highly recommend this book.

Families and caregivers will enjoy endless reads with this interactive board book. Kids and babies get to learn all about pets, responsibility, food, and fun as they feed the overly dramatic pets in this book. As we all know, when your pet is hungry they never hesitate to let you know. Shout out to my foodie dog Bacon! Lots of storytelling options and great for building child/caregiver interaction with books. I just may try this book on my ten year old 🙂.

I enjoyed reading this with my four year old son as a bedtime story. We loved the colorful pages, animal sounds and neat illustrations. Since it was a digital copy, we didn't have the pleasure to fully interact with the dangly food items or the pop-up faces which I think would have made a tremendous impact and added to the fun. I also thought the story was a little simple and short, so I would recommend to read this book to a two or three year old, but that may have been different if we had the play interaction with the food. Overall, Bone! made him laugh, so it's a good and entertaining book for little kids.

I read this book with my son and he was engaged with the illustrations. He loved the colours and got the gist of the story. It was an easy to read, easy to follow story about what the animals wanted to eat

Due to the digital nature of the copy,, I'm unsure about the pop up elements, but could see how they would cause some great interaction with the story.

This review is based on a free digital ARC copy provided by NetGalley. My views are provided based on the book content only.

As cute and interactive as this is I would have liked to have seen this developed into something a little more. Maybe with a just a little storyline. As it is it's just animals with treats dangling from them. There seems to be no substance here.

This is a truly delightful little board book that can’t fail to appeal to all children in the 12 months to 4 years age bracket. It’s clever and fun, and takes interactive to a whole new level. It’s not just a book — it’s a game!

The idea is simple but very effective. Choose the right (or wrong, if you want to be silly!) snack for each of the four hungry animals: a dog, a cat, a rabbit and a parrot, and put it in its open (pop-up) mouth. The different foods — bone, fish, carrot, watermelon — are dangling on cords from the spine of the book. What a seriously genius idea!

Toddlers and pre-schoolers will love the illustrations, which are bright and colourful and feature some interesting details to talk about.

I love the educational aspects of this book. It’s great for promoting hand-eye coordination, learning new words, and developing imaginative play. I look forward to purchasing a hard copy once it is published.

Cute and fun. Would love to see a physical copy or have a better idea of what's happening with the manipulatives. .

Bone! was such a cute, quick book suitable for reading with infants and toddlers. The bright colors and pop open option would be such a delight to a little child and the caregiver reading to them. I loved the choice of animals. Bone! includes animals that a child should be familiar with. My favorite part of the book were the bright, colorful illustrations. If I had small children I would definitely add this book to their library. I think all preschools should add this interactive book in their younger classrooms.

Before the Internet, a pop-up book was the thing closest you could get to an interactive read. What a pleasure to see then that the old technology is still holding strong in the cyber age.

Banana & Bone are both board books of the pop up variety. Each book has six pages of attractive and captivating full color illustrations of animals.

In Banana the characters include: a monkey, a crocodile, a bird and a giraffe. In Bone the main character is a dog and he is accompanied by a black cat, a sleepy rabbit and a hungry parrot. Banana and Bone are both children’s non-fiction activity books containing short sentences and pictures throughout.

Banana and Bone are the product of Quarto Publishing. In my opinion Quarto is synonymous for quality in children’s literature. Their publications are always beautifully illustrated, age appropriate and vibrantly eye catching. They know what children want, and they produce magnificent works every time. I was overjoyed to receive both publications as Advanced Review Copies (ARC’s) in return for my considered opinion.

My first impression of the books was positive. They both brought a smile to my face. The large bold image of monkey on the front page of Banana and the goofy tan colored dog with black ears on Bone almost made me laugh. I can only imagine the sheer excitement and yearning of a small child when they see one for the very first time. This made for a great first impression. I assure you your child will have the same reaction at seeing these gorgeous little offerings. The books are brief at only six pages but they’re filled with large exceptionally drawn, vividly colored and immersive illustrations.

Please note the guidance on the rear of the books suggests that the work is not appropriate for children under 3 years old.

I enjoyed this short children story and the illustrations to.  The story had you and your child guessing what might the animal pets like eat for lunch because they are hungry. My daughter like all the different animals.

I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is honest unbiased opinion.

While it is hard to speak to the durability and feeding aspect of the book, the story is cute and the illustrations eye-catching. I love the idea of the interactive component, and wish my little one was small enough to enjoy!

Cute and simple picture book about feeding pets. Great little book for new readers. Easily interactive and can get little readers thinking about animals and the food that they eat.

Bone is a cute children's book. My toddler loved it. The illustrations were vibrant. I believe there are pop-ups but cannot see them on an e-book format. I wouldn't say the writing was poetic or creative, but it gets straight to the point and is very simple for young children to understand. Sweet children's book, perfect for little pet owners.

Beautiful and bright illustrations! While I only read the digital copy, I could easily see my toddler "feeding" each animal with delight with the dangling foods on the hard copy. I would definitely purchase this book for my child or as a gift. Great for young ages - as my son is 1 1/2.

Thank you so much to the author Carly Madden, the publisher Quarto, and to Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
