I have a friend very similar to Bex. I felt like I was on the same room , living the story... when I was reading this book. When an author can pull me in (hook, line and sinker) you've got me as a reader for life!

This was a fun, summer read. I like the friendship between Bex and Liv. They don't have a perfect all-sunshine-and-rainbows friendship. I enjoyed the antics they got into together. Definitely a easy, light-hearted read.

When Bex, a divorced single mom nearing 40, and Liv, her best friend, reunite for a week of fun in LA, hijinks are sure to ensue. Liv is determined to jumpstart Bex’s love life by turning Bex’s serial “No’s” into “Yes’s” as, after years of living on separate continents, the two work to rekindle their friendship. And while Liv jumps headfirst into improving Bex’s life, Bex has to wonder: what’s going on with Liv? As awkward moments, crazy dates, and personalities collide, Bex and Liv both discover the power of the “Yes” factor.

When I picked this book up, the cover and description had me anticipating a light-hearted beach read. While Spencer and Sable definitely deliver on this premise, the story itself is certainly much more. In the midst of a hilarious series of bad dates is an exploration of female friendship, the intersection of identity and romantic relationships, and the power of valuing oneself. I loved that, despite the years and distance that separated them, Bex and Liv remained friends and truly tried to support one another, even if their attempts to support were woefully misguided or inadequate. While this book advertises itself as centered on romance, I found the moments of self-reflection, forgiveness (to oneself and to friends), and the resulting personal growth to be the most compelling.

Much of the focus of the story is on Bex’s struggles with romance, but I wish more attention had been given to Liv. It’s clear from the beginning that Liv has issues of her own, but the story doesn’t really begin to tackle them until the latter half of the book. There are also moments where Bex’s forgiveness for Liv’s pushy (and frequently obnoxious) antics is easily given, which weakens the portrayal of realistic friendship at times.

That being said, I really enjoyed the story and look forward to picking up the sequel.

The first thing that caught my eye was this exciting cover... Then, I read the synopsis and couldn't wait to dive into it! Let me tell ya, I wasn't disappointed! I loved the themes of friendship mixed with the romantic comedy! Bex and Liv were such a great pair, maintaining their friendship for many decades!

The book is read from each woman's POV, revealing her inner thoughts as the events unfold. At times, it made it obvious that the book was written by two different authors, but it didn't keep me from reading thought the entire book!

This book is full of crazy dating antics starring two best friends. The main characters were in their early 40’s which added to some of the humor and makes this book stand out a bit more in this genre. It was a bit over the top for me at times - but I’m harder to please when it comes to humor. I think the length and comedy would make this a good vacation read for a lot of readers.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book.
I think I set my expectations too high on this one. The cover and the blurb had me looking forward to it, and it started off well, being easy to read etc. Then Liv became a bit too unbearable with her pushing, and not revealing much about her own relationship with her husband. Going into the profiles and meddling too much didn't feel like something a good friend would do.
I did enjoy the forgiveness between the friends and how arguments were just that, and they did clear the air. It felt realistic in that way.

The Yes Factor by Erin Spencer and Emma Sable follows Bex a single mom who would rather be watching Outlander then swiping on tinder. When Bex's best friend Liv visits from London Bex is forced to say yes to all opportunities and prospective dates. There are a lot of twists and turns along the way! This book was amazing and I couldn't put it down! I was always wanting to see what happened next. I highly suggest this book!

Growing up can change everything - your relationships, what you want, how long it’s been since you’ve had a heart to heart with your best friend. Bex is living in LA with her teenage daughter Maddie, who’s away for summer camp. She’s tired of the same repetitive loop of trying to find “The One” on social media, but fails at finding the energy to get out there and try to meet someone even though she thinks it’s time.

Her best friend Liv, is in London, living what seems to be the dream with the perfect husband and career, but is it?

On an impulse, Liv flies to LA to force Bex out on a YES girls weekend like they used to with plenty of delightful shenanigans - nightclubs, yoga, bars and parties - nothing can stop these girls! Will she push Bex too far? Or will they find her the perfect match as they rediscover their friendship.

While I was excited to read this title with it’s beautiful cover, at times it fell a bit flat for me - I felt like the yes factor almost went a bit too far, making Liv seem childish and unlikeable. I was all for the plot and the dive into their friendship, but their yes weekend made it seem so rushed and at times a bit unrealistic. Most of the time it was a quick read while the girls were go, go, go but honestly my favorite part of the book was when they weren't looking for potential boyfriends, but enjoying the antique sales and reconnecting!

I’m hoping book two with Liv kind of gives us the holes in the friendship to pull it all together! Great debut read, thank you Valentine PR for allowing me to read and review this title!

I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the book, but I really enjoyed it. I think it resonated with me because I’m about the same age, divorced, trying to date, etc. Also, I could 100% see my girlfriends and I doing the same things! This book is actually quite touching without being mushy and I appreciated all the humour. Definitely recommending to my girl friends!

I wen't into the first several chapters unsure of what to think of Bex and Liv. I almost didn't finish, but am really glad that I did. I liked that this was more of a friendship story with a side of romance. The romance was not centerstage at all and while I didn't expect that or think that I would like it, I did. It was a fun and fast read for a Sunday afternoon. Perfect for a day at the pool.

Long time best friends, Liv and Bex are both pushing 40. Liv lives in London with her successful Hugh Grant - esque husband. Bex is a single mom in LA who is struggling with the dating scene. Liv decides to ambush Bex into a week of only sating YES to dating.
This was so super relatable for me. Being 40 and single with teenagers - I am basically Bex... and while Liv is determined to help her friend, she is having more than her share of relationship struggles. The Yes Factor has so many hilarious online and IRL dating moments that anyone on the dating scene will relate to. There is a very dreamy love interest, Devon, that gave me all the Aiden from Sex and the City vibes. But honestly, this book was not a romance, there was actually very little romance and only two steamy scenes (one of which I definitely could have done without). It was a story about true, long lasting friendship and the hardships life throws your way.... with a dating theme. A quick and fun read if you need a good laugh!

This book was a been there, read that before kind of a book for me. Liv, who is married best friend of Bex, just wants her to be happy like she is. She will not let Bex say no to any man that crosses her path and I do mean anyone! This started out quite funny but became annoying rather quickly when Bex would complain about having to go out when all she wanted to do was stay in and watch Outlander...

This had the potential to better than it was even though there were many laugh out loud moments and awkward encounters. Bex was even a relatable and believable character too. This just was not for me after reading other better rom-coms. I love the cover! Recommended but decide for yourself.

As a newly single female, this book was exactly what I needed. I am so glad that it came into my life when it did. It was wonderfully easy to read with good writing that had my heartbreaking one moment and then laughing out loud the next. Normally with books that I read through netgalley there is still work to be done ahead of the publish date but with The Yes Factor this was not the case. I would happily recommend this to all my girlfriends and may even pay for a few copies to show up on their doorsteps. I simply did not want this book to end and I sincerely hope that there is a sequel in the works.

I’m a reader of covers and synopsis, so when this book appears in the coming release I was so in love and with so much expectation, unfortunately that’s what it was, in fact, for me was boring, so much that I can’t even write a long review.
I normally read and bragged about the book I’m reading at the moment, make some collages trying to put in images what the story inspired me, with this I just wanted to finish so I can move on.
One thing I do liked is the friendship of Bex and Liv, at least mostly of the time, there’s this thing back in my head that wish Liv be a little different and supportive so maybe we didn’t have to wait for a second book, which is the idea I have after finish this book.
So it was a little disappointed to read something I was so excited to do when I see and opened for the first time.
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for providing an ARC on exchange of my honest review.

The Yes Factor had a strong premise and I was excited to read it but unfortunately it fell a bit flat for me. The book follows two best friends - Liv, married but not happily and Bex, a single mum who Liv decides to make her project in finding her a man. When Liv visits Bex, she starts throwing her at every man she sees. While it was funny at the start, it did get a bit too repetitive. And if my best friend kept logging into my dating profiles without permission, I know I would be annoyed rather than laugh it off!

This wouldn't download, so with that being said, I couldn't read it. The cover is cute and the synopsis sounds quite interesting!

4.5 Stars for The Yes Factor
Erin Spence and Emma Sabler are relatively new to me but as soon as I saw the blurb for The Yes Factor I knew it was a book I would love and I wasn’t disappointed because I really enjoyed Bex and Liv’s story. This is a book that’s based on friendship even when that friend lives on the other side of the world, it’s funny, entertaining, charming and full of witty banter
Bex is a divorced mother and is busy trying to keep her and her teenage daughters life on track. When her best friend Liv flys in for a visit life is about to get very interesting because Liv is adamant it’s time for Bex to start dating again......
I loved the friendship this pair shared even when they were living so far apart, it’s something I can relate to because I moved from the UK to Australia a few years ago leaving friends behind. It really is true that you don’t need to live in each other’s pockets to still be best friends. This book has it all, it’s one of those books that has you smiling laughing and even shedding a few tears. I found myself engrossed in Bex and Liv’s story so much so I even found myself cheering them on with a glass of wine. What I did find hard to believe was this was the first book these authors have written together and I really hope they carry on giving us enjoyment from their delightful words.

I expected to really love this book, but honestly it was just okay. The dual narrators don't do this story any real favors and you can definitely tell that there are two authors writing the book because it feels a little disjointed. I liked Bex and her storyline and conceptually I really loved Liv's Yes Factor idea (especially because it is on my bucket list to do a Yes Month and a Yes Year) but in reality she came off as aggressive and forceful and generally inconsiderate. Her whole backstory and character arc is generally unlikeable and felt like filler. I was finally getting around to liking (ish) her and was looking forward to her 'aha' moment and then the book ended, with the hint of a second book. Unfortunately I don't think I liked these characters enough to bother reading the second one. I wish that the book had just focused on Bex and her getting back into the game with Liv being a more supportive friend because I would have loved more of Bex and Devon. I think that was a real missed opportunity. Especially because its rare to have these kinds of books with an MC in their mid to late 30s.

I do love the cover though.

I'm glad that the story alternated from both Bex and Liv's viewpoints. Part of me was hoping that that Liv would stay in LA but it made sense that she needed to go home and do what she needed to do there first. You would think that Bex would have just paid for the app or whatever to connect with Devon again (but I get that wouldn't make for as good of a story).

When I read the blurb of this book, I said to myself, here it is, this is the novel I need right now.
Something light, something carefree, in short, something easy and fun.

In the first chapters of the book I said to myself, maybe the story will be interesting later... but no.

Boring.

After a while I got really bored of reading the book, but since I'm one of those readers who doesn't leave things halfway, that even if the book is bad it has to go on, I hoped for some improvement.

Nothing.

Not to mention Liv. Her unbearable behavior, I'd like to shake her up and tell her to stop behaving like that.

Too bad, because the blurb promised a book in my chords.

I'm sure I'll read the second one, hoping for a ransom for the authors.
