Wow this book I devoured in less than a day. I loved the two protagonists Bex and Liv and how the story switched between their perspectives. I was intrigued from the beginning reading the short blurb about the Yes factor and the story did not disappoint.

This book had me laughing, crying and routing for both of these best friends. I loved how it was set with characters in their upper 30s so different from the books I have read so far this year and I appreciate that. I felt like I was living on their journey and routing for them every step of the way. This book I will definitely be recommending and using for our monthly book club with friends. Thank you netgalley and publisher for this advanced read. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

More adventures of Liv and Bex please! I thoroughly enjoyed reading their tales of friendship as they took on LA while determined to be their best self. As a woman around their age, I could identify the desire to reclaim identity and find whom I am again. We as women have lost herself in relationships and Bex and Liv took this head on. By saying yes, they stepped out of their comfort zone and in doing so, pursued what they actually wanted. Motivating!

So fun - I loved Bex and Liv. They act exactly like two best friends who live apart. All of Liv’s Yes factor activities made me laugh - total hijinks but not unnecessarily predictable. I liked that the story switched perspectives and treated the characters like real people who argue but love each other. I am already looking forward to Liv’s story next!

4 star Review The Yes Factor by Erin Spencer & Emma Sabler

When I read the blurb for this one, I jumped at the chance to read and review. For a number of reasons this book appealed to me and it was an entertaining story with characters that were easy to relate too. Underlying this story is a deep and abiding friendship between Bex, a divorced mother and her best friend Liv.They may live on opposite sides of the world but their friendship has remained, maybe not as strong as it was but still there.

What’s a woman to do when she doesn't want to face the reality of her own life? That to me is the situation that Liv finds herself in when she flies in to visit Bex and drag her divorced friend into the dating scene again.

Both Liv and Bex push each other to be the best that they can be and I loved that about their friendship. Their camaraderie and banter is funny, as well as honest and it is obvious that they love one another, accepting each others flaws and overcoming their arguments. It is also a story of looking deep inside oneself and coming to terms with what they discover.

I was surprised to learn that this is their debut collaboration as the story flowed well and I have no idea who wrote what or where one author finished and the other took over. The fact that the characters are more mature than a lot of other books just added to my enjoyment. I also have to say it also made me very happy that I am no longer in the dating scene.

This was a realistic look at friendship and there were times that I laughed, times that I cried and times I absolutely wanted a glass of wine or two.

I have heard amazing things about this book, but getting into it myself was not one of my favorites. I felt that it was very slow pace.

Personally for me this book miss the mark. I was not able to connect with it from the beginning! I usually really enjoy Rom Coms that feature best friends. But I wasn’t able to connect with either Bex or Liv. I made it about half way before I DNF. While others seemed to love this book, it just wasn’t for me and I couldn’t connect that doesn’t mean this books isn’t great for someone else to enjoy. I just personally didn’t. Thank you to both netgalley and the publisher for send me the book I’m exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately I did not finish this one. I couldn’t connect with the characters and Liv was a little unlikeable with her martial problems/affair and not accepting any responsibility. I found Bex to be a little whiny.

I absolutely devoured this book, and really enjoyed the exploration of the relationship between the two women, their (ex)husbands, children and other characters that crossed their path.

THE YES FACTOR by Erin Spencer & Emma Sable is a fun rom com about two best friends Bex and Liv. The novel switches points of view between the two women which is nice to see each of their sides on things. There were definitely some funny moments but also some heartfelt moments. It was easy to connect with both of the characters and I was rooting for them the whole time. This book would make the perfect summer beach read!

The Yes Factor by Erin Spencer and Emma Sable
I enjoyed this fun rom-com feeling book set in LA about best friends Liv and Bex by real life best friends Erin Spencer and Emma Sable. The story alternates perspectives of longtime best friends. Liv is living a glamorous life in London, that isn’t quite what it seems. While she may have a successful career and handsome husband with a swanky job, she also just had a dalliance with a Frenchman. Bex lives in LA with her thirteen year old daughter and while she wants to dip her toe in the dating pool she’s finding exhausting.

I loved how real the friendship between Bex and Liv was throughout the story. Spencer and Sable painted great scenes of LA that made me want to hop on a plane and go drive around and see all the sights they mentioned. This book was a quick easy read and I would be excited to read a sequel, maybe set in Liv’s hometown? TLDR: Pick this one up for the beach or to have an LA escape in quarantine without leaving your couch!

This book came at the perfect time for me, an escape from my overwhelming (yet mundane) routine. I absolutely devoured this book, and really enjoyed the exploration of the relationship between the two women, their (ex)husbands, children and other characters that crossed their paths. This is a celebration of almost-40 year old women and what it means to navigate a changing yet stagnant world. I highly recommend this book (maybe with a glass or two of wine to perfect the atmosphere!).

I wanted to love this book. It had all of the elements I love in a Rom Com. A strong friendship where two women unhappy in love find a HEA. Unfortunately, it missed the mark for me. Liv was a bit much to take at first, but of the two characters she had the biggest growth and I do want to know what happens with her marriage. Bex let a lot of life happen to her and even at the end it felt like she didn't really go for what she wanted, it again just worked out.

Don't get me wrong, I read this book in a day. It is fast-paced and conversational. The two friends get into a heap of hilarious situations. At the end of the book, I was left wanting something a little meatier to allow the HEA to shine.

Please tell me there is a book 2 of The Yes Factor in the making?!! Also, how cute is this cover ?!⁣

This book had some mixed reviews. People seem to think you can’t call someone your best friend if you don’t tell them everything. I personally feel like sometimes if you don’t want to come to terms with how bad something is in your life, you may keep it from your best friend because you aren’t ready to hear what you already know. Your best friend will see right through your soul.⁣

You know your best friend will still love you for decisions you may have made, that may or may not be great decisions but you aren’t ready to look your decision in the eye. I feel that was probably how Liv felt in this story. She knew Bex would call her bluff, so she tried to put her focus into getting Bex out of her own head and avoided dealing with her own issues. ⁣

Yes Factor was such a cute rom com about two best friends. Bex lives in LA while Liv lives in London. They grew up together and were basically sisters until getting married and moving away from each other changed things for them.⁣

Bex is divorced with a thirteen year old daughter, too afraid to move on with living, staying stuck and refusing to put herself out there.⁣

Liv is living a ritzy life in London with her successful lawyer husband who is more a traveling ghost husband, than an attentive, loving husband.⁣

Liv decides to jump on a plane to go try and get Bex out of her rut and get her to say “yes” and less saying “no.” They repair their friendship that has been put on the back burner, and also go through some self discovery of their own.⁣

Both of these women have such a fierce, tight knit friendship and push each other to the edge; but are always there to catch each other. Their banter is too funny and their love for each other, just makes you want to be part of their friendship. ⁣

This was a beautiful story of love, friendship, self discovery, and learning to find self love and self care.⁣

I’m giving this 4⭐️ solely because with it ending how it did, there NEEDS to be a second book, because I need to know what comes next for Liv and Bex. 💕⁣

I'm sad to say that I did not finish this one. I couldn't buy into the friendship, because if you can't tell your best friend what's happening in your life - if you best friend isn't listening or really paying attention to you - they're not your best friend!!

I honestly didn’t love this one. I couldn’t really get into the storyline and just wasn’t finding myself being drawn in. Maybe it was just my mood or maybe it was the book, but I ended up not finishing the book halfway through.
