If ever there were a bar tending class and it encompasses the content of Witchcraft Cocktails I’d be there with arsenal of essentials noted in this text. How fun! What an absolute escapist and sensorial experience this work centers for readers to become participants. Imagination and sense are loaded with alchemical ingredients to be crafted and savored by intimate or large scale groups (when possible of course). An absolute how to course that invites and inspires people to forage, hunt and craft beautiful cocktails or mock tails. Wondering the sticker price on this one and hoping to land it on my shelf some time soon. Buy it for your fantasy, magical realism lovers as an accoutrement and extension of what they love about genre. Just gorgeous! Thank you Netgalley!!!

This is a great, comprehensive book based on mixed drinks and cocktails and teaches how to create these drinks at an almost basic level because of the recipes and discussions it includes, as well as how it seeks to teach readers how to whip up some magical and tasty drinks. I love how in depth this book went in terms of mixers and add ins and really seeks to teach.

Witchcraft Cocktails was a perfect October read! This is a complete guide to witchcraft and booze! The book included sections explaining the different types of witches and magics, the different crystals and their uses, the different tarots and their meanings and a ton of other elements that are often seen and used in witchcraft. After the basics of witchcraft were covered, the book gave a guide on different cocktail ingredients and how they are used in witchcraft.

The recipes in Witchcraft Cocktails were broken into seasons, with an additional section for common classic cocktails at the end of the book. The recipes were creative and sounded delicious but the amazing part was that each recipe included the energies the cocktails included, as well as a section for advanced magic.

This was a great book that combined magic and cocktail recipes perfectly. The beginning was extremely informative and the recipes were purposeful and well-thought out. I would highly recommend Witchcraft Cocktails!

‘Tis the season for witchcraft, which means all manner of witch-themed releases are hitting the shelves. WitchCraft Cocktails by Julia Halina Hadas captured my attention by combining two of my greatest loves—magic and booze. The first part of the book begins with a brief intro on the intersectional history of witches and alcohol before devoting a chapter to the basics of both bartending and magic craft. Having never been a bartender, I appreciated the short section of tips, tricks, and tools, and I also appreciated the emphasis on personal style in approaching spiritualism and spellcrafting, which leaves room for witches from all walks of life. Finally, there’s a chapter on magical (cocktail) ingredients and the spiritual energies and types of spell work associated with each based on their (generally botanical) components. Which brings us to the second part of the book . . . the cocktails! Four chapters of seasonally appropriate adult beverages to get you in the festive spirit and help you celebrate your sabbats in style. Each recipe is clearly outlined with an ingredients list and easy-to-follow steps. Photographs, where included, are sharp and stunning, somehow managing to be merry and moody all at once . . . kinda like most of the witches I know! A great addition to any collection of craft books, or to that little shelf on the liquor cabinet.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an eARC for review.

This book has such an attention-grabbing tile I just had to read it. For someone who's friends with a witch and loves cocktails, I'm embarrassed by how much I didn't know. This book fixed that. It's a good beginner's guide. It explains everything from the types of glasés to the cards in a tarot set. It's really good that you first understand the basics of magi before attempting a magic coattail. The cocktails are tasty and alcoholic the way I like them(non-alcoholic available). I think it's worth reading.

I thought this would just be a cocktail recipe book with unique names but I was wrong, it is so much more than that. Aside from just the recipes, we learn about the history of alcohol and witchcraft, bartending basics, alcohol varieties, tools, techniques and so much more. The recipes start with fall cocktails and I cannot wait to try them, perfect for this time of year.

As a kitchen witch and self proclaimed libation queen, I found myself intrigued at the latest offering by Julia Halina Hadas, WitchCraft Cocktails. What I found inside was a collection of perfectly named drinks (The Reaper, Ace of Swords, etc.,) that contain elements of ritual and incorporate astrology, crystals, herbs and seasons (among other tools) into potions that promote manifestations. Most of the recipes require some prep work such as making the infused ingredients or shopping for the botanicals required (many of which a practicing witch will have on hand). The author demonstrates her vast knowledge consistently throughout the book and the cocktail pictures scattered throughout are gorgeous!
I found that some of the cocktail recipes are a bit too involved for me to want to try my hand at due to requiring prep work and ingredients that are not easily sourced (think orange blossom water, jasmine flowers, saffron strings and activated charcoal to name a few). Instead, these are exactly the concoctions I would gladly pay top dollar for at a craft cocktail establishment where presentation also accounts for the experience. Someone please open a WitchCraft bar near me!
This is a gorgeous reference book filled to the brim with information to help the alchemist in all of us. I will certainly visit it again and consider it for gifting options for my witchy friends as well.
Many thanks to Adams Media and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this digital ARC in exchange for an honest and authentic review.

I LOVE this book!! It is so great for the soul! Empowering & filled with great tidbits for wellness. Each recipe is connected to the moon phases, making the drinking of these creative cocktails even more powerful with the inclusion of bitters. I’ve already tried a few and it is true that used properly, these really do bring various energies. I also enjoyed the connection to Tarot cards with each recipe. Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced digital copy. This is definitely one I’ll be picking up in published form for consistent reference.

2 of my Favorite things could of not come ore together than with WitchCraft Cocktails. I love the Occult anything with Witches and Their History is so fascinating to me. When I heard about this book I was so happy with the way it was written. I enjoyed The cocktails and how they intertwine with the occult and the history of how they are tied together.

I received an ARC of WitchCraft Cocktails by Julia Halina Hadas in exchange for the following review.

Magic and cocktails? Yes, please! Though not a Wiccan, I had so much fun reading this book. Not only are there inventive recipes and new twists on old classics, but there was a significant exploration of unique elements of bar-tending, Witchcraft, and herbalism. The recipes are more involved than just throwing some hard liquor in a glass with a mixer, but overall are fairly simple, though some may require prep time to brew the ingredients.

The growing season is now over, but I look forward to growing an extensive herb garden next summer with plans of making several of Hadas' shrubs, infusions, syrups, etc. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good cocktail and finds Witchcraft intriguing.

This is an absolutely stunning book. As a bartender and practicing witch, this is an essential for my bar cart! There was a wonderful mix of actual cocktail making info and adding in witchcraft. I would buy this for any witchy friends in a heartbeat!

Such a fun book for anyone who likes witching and cocktails!

The first part of the book goes into short descriptions of the significance of some of the elements of the cocktails, such as the connotations of certain herbs and alcohols, as well as tarot cards which can be used to increase the power of the cocktail, and not least of all, the meaning behind holidays and times of the year for which certain cocktails are more suitable.

The second part jumps in the sea of colorful drinks (in beautiful glasses! I honestly love glasses of all kinds) which can both assist your practice and just provide a nice, refreshing beverage.

I don't know if I'll make many of these for real, as some require too many fancy alcohols and other ingredients, but it was enjoyable to read about them anyway!

This book is SO AWESOME. I absolutely was not expecting the depth of research in what I thought was going to be a small book of spooky-themed cocktail recipes. The author actually takes time to explain both bartending AND witchcraft basics before leading you on a spiritual journey that really makes you think about what you are imbibing. Even if you don't drink, I think this a fascinating book to read for the witchcraft lore alone.

Loved this one! With the recipes divided into seasons its so fun to get excited about autumn and look forward to winter! I have a habit of trying a cocktail recipe I randomly find online one time and then forgetting it or not being able to find it again, with this book having all these fun cocktails at my fingertips is divine!

A great reference book to have in your witchy kitchen. It contains the basic to witchcraft as to not simply give the riruals/recipes and leave beginners confused, giving information on moon phases, chakras, tarot, elements etc. And of course, a huge list of mystical recipes to try.

LOVED this one! It's incredibly well done. Full of history and useful information. Visually pleasing. Organized by the seasons. This is definitely not a book you want to miss.

WitchCraft Cocktails

YUM, okay yes just yum! These are some of the most delicious sounding cocktails, as well as some of the prettiest. Made extra tasty with the addition of some gorgeous syrups and sparkly adornments, the concoctions in WitchCraft Cocktails are an inspiration!

Cleverly organized by season, this recipe book is just plain fun to read. Starting with Fall, of course, we’re encouraged to stir up a witch’s brew, or a pumpkin martini. And plenty of unique drinks for the other seasons as well.

I can’t resist commenting on the absolutely stunning photos included in WitchCraft Cocktails. Each concoction is artfully displayed in an appropriate glass, beautifully garnished, and surrounded by items to compliment it.

Most of the recipes require specially made syrups, but most look easy to make and can be stored in the fridge for awhile.

This is one beautifully designed cookbook. Cleverly written and gorgeous to look at, WitchCraft Cocktails would make the perfect gift. And kudos to the authors whose knowledge of mixology is equaled by their knowledge of mystical stuff, and definitely has my taste buds craving 5pm!

This looks incredible. I've had a thorough look through on the kindle version and i'm obsessed. I need it now. Cue me purchasing the physical copy.

I would have liked the kindle version to be formatted properly. It was not legible at times and pages would contain a slither of an image or a single corner. I very much appreciate a free version of this to review, and I shall do so, but the kindle format is a MASSIVE throw-off. It's quite discouraging and considering I have it on kindle, I wouldn't want to purchase the physical copy.

That said, I love all of the content. From the beginning where it describes the purpose of each ingredient, to the actual recipes, to the side ingredients to be made. I can see myself and my close friends making a witchy night out of this cook book.
