Interesting read. I found it funny. Great plot. Fast paced. Good book to read

There was some repetition I felt weren’t warranted, it did make the book drag on slightly,

People Die In Sunshine is a wild ride down the Miami I95, an excellent, eclectic mix of murder, mystery, family drama, some Miami Anti-Semitic history plus a little romance on the side. In this fast-paced Miami tale Nagy, using some innovative vocabulary, dives deep into the disparities between the have and have-nots in a multi-cultural Miami, the uber-rich and the unethical and immoral side of high-society. But she also shows the good side of just regular Joes and Jills and how a loving family doesn’t always come from the same DNA pool. Her characters are a group of quirky folks and readers will especially love Ooma, Edy, Sunny, Oscar and Roy as they solve the case and become intimates. Don’t expect her to spill the clue beans too fast but if your thinking cap is secure the audience may figure out whodunit before the big reveal. Fans of Carl Hiaasen, Dave Barry or this bestselling author will devour this.

This is a QUIRKY MURDER MYSTERY book with QUIRKY characters, that i loved.
You will be introduced to the affluent and glitzy and glamour filled lifestyle of Hollywood.

I loved the hilarious and witty and thoroughly entertaining storytelling.
My only issue with the book was its LENGTH. It was a long book and at times felt repetitive.

This crazy ad hilarious murder mystery ensued due to the murders of an uber rich couple in a high rise condo in Miami and the subsequent investigation.
Edith is the primary main character (she has a mongrel family); she's a New Yorker with a 15 year old adopted daughter named Sunny (and they were both "adopted" by Ooma Lovee, a rich elderly European lady looking to be their grandmother/guardian who only asks to be invited to dinner and family things with them in return. (ISN'T IT PERFECT?)
I instantly fell in love with Edith and her mongrel family with a transgendered furball, Lorraine.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the e ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was a bit torn on this book- it was a decent mystery with mostly likable characters but felt a bit long and repetitive. It centers primarily on the murders of a super rich couple in a high rise condo in Miami and the subsequent investigation. Edith is the primary main character; she's a New Yorker with a 15 year old adopted daughter named Sunny (and they were both "adopted" by Ooma, a rich elderly lady who wanted to be somebody's grandmother, and whisked away to Miami). I liked all 3 of these characters and thought that the mother/daughter relationship was authentic and heart-warming. The other main character was Roy, who is a former detective now running security for the high-rise condo building. Roy felt like a believable character and I liked the dynamic between him and Edith, though there were a few times where I felt like he was being judgmental of others, which cooled me on him as the book went on.

The story is mostly written as a police procedural as Roy and his peers dig into the murder and all of the neighbors are suspects. I had a suspicion of who the villain was and ended up being right, but it was still satisfying to get to that point as there were a few red herrings.

I am not sure how many pages this book was because I read it on a Kindle but it did feel really long to me and took me a while to finish- I felt that there was some repetition that could have been avoided, as well as so many characters with so many details that there was a lot to keep straight.

Overall, decent story but didn't quite do it for me. Readers who are interested in police procedurals as well as a glimpse into the lifestyles of the uber rich might be more interested. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It took me a bit of time to decide what I thought of this book. It started out with a type of free form association which I found off putting since I couldn’t get a sense of what the book was about. This same type of writing style was used periodically throughout the book but once I understood the plot and storyline it was not as distracting. The book was well written and the mystery kept me guessing until almost the very end.

Ultra wealthy owners of a super high end condo building are found murdered in a particularly gruesome manner and the head of building security a former Miami detective Is pulled into the investigation when he’s deputized to work with the police to catch the killer. As they race against the clock the big question remains, serial killer or hate crime?

I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.

I was honestly offended by this book. I expected to enjoy it, but instead I found myself shaking my head at all the stereotypes and anti-Semitic tropes that they author threw around. There’s nothing funny about name calling. There’s nothing funny about repeating everything that is used by anti-Semites, especially now.

I would not recommend it to any of my book groups since what the author sees as humorous is merely a cheap use of negative language and hate. Not for me.

Thank you Netgalley for an opportunity to read an revile this book.

I found it hard to get into this book, but by the second chapter I was IN. I loved everything about it....except the dissing of Mt. Rogers. I loved Mt. Rogers - however I did know what a Perry Como sweater was. I really enjoyed the book - never figured out who did it , well actually until it was finally revealed. Marvelous book, with no sex, no violence ( only heard about it after the fact,) and no foul language, but with ag reat plot and hook that once it is set, it doesn't let you go until the very end. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone!
