I really enjoyed this one. Full of twists and suspense, and I didn’t want to put it down. It was very well written and I enjoyed the characters.

What a roller coaster of a psychological thriller with a husband accusing his wife of having Postpartum Psychosis because she's told him earlier in their relationship that her mother had suffered from it & hence she'd been brought up by her older sister. He used this to manipulate her & to threaten her . She plans to escape with her newly born daughter but it doesn't quite work out that way & it takes you on a heck of a journey both emotionally & mentally , so I highly recommend it ! #NetGalley, #GoodReads, #FB, #Instagram, #Amazon.co.uk ,#<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/358a5cecda71b11036ec19d9f7bf5c96d13e2c55" width="80" height="80" alt="100 Book Reviews" title="100 Book Reviews"/>, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/ef856e6ce35e6d2d729539aa1808a5fb4326a415" width="80" height="80" alt="Reviews Published" title="Reviews Published"/>, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/aa60c7e77cc330186f26ea1f647542df8af8326a" width="80" height="80" alt="Professional Reader" title="Professional Reader"/>

Five Days Missing is a domestic thriller that was a slow read although I did enjoy it I found it was missing a few fast moments.
Romilly and Marc haven’t been married long and Romilly has just given birth to her daughter, Marc returns to the hospital early the next morning and only the baby is there. Romilly is missing and he’s worried as her mother suffered from postpartum psychosis and thinks maybe Romilly does too. Where is she, friends and family are worried as they try to piece together where she has gone.
This was a book of two halves for me, the first being a couple of the characters were likeable and the storyline was different even though I’d guessed the ending early on. The second being it has no wow moments which made it slow going and the postpartum psychosis was mentioned on nearly every page rather than letting the reader work it out. I did enjoy this it just could have done with a couple of moments to put the pace up a bit.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Avon Books for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

Really enjoyed this book, from start to finish it had me gripped. Written from different character views its a very easy read with only a few pages per chapter. It only took me a few days to read as I wanted to carry on reading and find out what happened next. Lots of twists and turns along the way. A great read!

Another good one by Caroline Corcoran. This is her 3rd book.

A different Avenue to try for Corcoran and it works well. First third is a slow burner but 2nd and 3rd build to good climax. Got a bit confused about the ending but she did make it clear at the very end. Wasn't expecting that as a reason to go missing though so that was very clever.

Looking forward to book number 4

I found the first half of this book a little slow to get started but once the pace picked up I really enjoyed it. There was plenty of suspense in the second half of the book that kept me hooked as I wondered who could be trusted and who was lying. I enjoy books told from the perspective of the different characters. I loved the twist at the end I did not see that coming. I would recommend this book and have definitely decided I would like to read more from Caroline Corcoran

Ive just spent about four days with Romilly and Marc. Romilly and Marc are married, with a seemingly idyllic life, and relationship, so why, only hours after giving birth, has Romilly gone missing from the maternity ward. Disappeared without a trace. Leaving her newborn motherless, and her husband in frantic state of chaos and worry....What sort of Woman abandons her newborn? What kind of man will it take to piece everything together?...
A cleverly written tale with all the characters have a likeable side to which the reader wants to show empathy.
This is a book of our time tackling issues rarely spoken out loud.

This one took a little bit to get into, but once I got there, I was hooked. The short chapters and multiple POVs keep you engaged and anxious to find out what happens next. The story starts with a woman who has recently given birth to a baby disappearing from her hospital room. Her husband, her sister and her best friend all work together to find out what happened to her. Somewhere around the 40-50% mark, we find out what happened to the woman and the rest of the book revolves around the characters trying to make decisions on where to go from there. You definitely have to suspend disbelief for a few moments…I honestly found myself questioning the validity of the whole plot a couple times, but the ending salvaged most of that for me. I thought the story was wrapped up nicely with most, if not all of the questions answered …for me, the very last couple pages were a bit unnecessary. Highly recommend the audio!

Romilly disappears from the hospital within hours of giving birth leaving her husband Marc, sister Loll and friends Steffie & Adam in shock. Nobody would have ever guessed that could happen because she has been happy and was so excited about being a mother.

Could it be that Romilly is suffering from postpartum psychosis, just as her mother did? Or is it something more sinister?

I generally love a story with an unreliable narrator and there is that in this story especially since both Marc and Romilly have very different opinions of what went on in their relationship. That being said, there was a lot of repetition with conversations and internal monologues. That made the story drag and even though I wanted to know what the truth was and which of the two was saying the truth I did lose a little interest.

I liked this book but did not love it. I wanted to be more invested in it than I was.

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for sending the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What could possibly happen that would make a mother abandon a new baby before coming home from the maternity hospital? That seems to be what Romilly has done, leaving the yet unnamed baby in the care of her husband Marc. He, and Romilly’s sister are convinced she is suffering post partum psychosis, as her own mother had done. However, as the days go on, we begin to wonder whether there are other reasons. I changed my mind several times as I read the stories told by each of the characters. Some of the actions seemed a bit unlikely but it is a decent story.

I hadn't read one of this author's books before, but wow, I loved it immediately. What a beautifully written story.

The main protagonist of the book is Romilly, who shortly after giving birth for the first time, vanishes without a word leaving her tiny newborn behind. Her husband Marc is left bewildered and devastated, what could possibly make someone do such a terrible thing? Romilly's mother had postpartem psychosis, so could Romilly be suffering from this too? But as the story progresses, it appears that things aren't always as they seem and neither are the people we think we know best.

The storyline was so powerful and cleverly written, my viewpoint switched back and forth as I struggled to know who to believe. The characters were so believeable, especially Romilly, Steffie and Loll. The chapters switch between different viewpoints and this really added to the story and increasing tension.

I found the writing flowed so well and was almost poetic in places, this line struck me "this place, with it's hundred shades of blue, ink split, open fountain pens thrown carelessly across the sky". Wonderful.

I stayed up late into the night to finish this, as I couldn't put it down. This is a book that will stay with me for a long time. Highly recommended.

Thanks to author Caroline Corcoran, publishers Avon Books UK and Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

What a fantastic read.

From the very first page to the last I really enjoyed it. There some fantastic twist which I didn't see coming.

I started off really enjoying the short chapters with lots of changes in narrators however it got a bit tedious by the end It was a good job that all the narrators were identified at the start of each chapter because they all came across with the same “ voice”. That said it was an interesting premise with no way of guessing the outcome.

Romillily and Marc are having a baby but their life is far from perfect.
She has the baby and then goes missing. Is it really the psycosis her husband is trying to convince everyone she has or is their something else at play.
I lived this book. Really drew me in and wish life gave me time to read it quicker. I read more from this author and I am so impressed with her writing style and how smooth her stories flow.
She has the knack of not revealing the true heart of the story till you think you have figured it out, then it twists totally differently to where you think and is fantastic.
Thankyou. Loved it

Romilly disappears from hospital within hours of giving birth leaving her husband Marc, sister Loll & friends Steffie & Adam are in shock. What on earth would make her do this. She seemed happy & excited about being a mum. Could she possibly be suffering from Post-partum psychosis the way her own mother had? The first part of the story covers the five days after the baby's birth from the various characters point of view. The second part is from when Romilly is found.

This was a good premise to a story & unreliable narrators always add to the narrative. However the first part did seem to drag an awful lot with the same ground being covered. Once Romilly is found things speed up. I found it hard to believe that she could physically manage the things she did, bearing in mind how she had reacted in the past. This was a book I had to finish but not one I was bowled over by.Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

Baby's first kiss, baby's first cuddle, baby's first goodbye...

Marc and Romilly are over the moon for their newborn daughter. That's why no one understands why, just hours after giving birth, Romilly leaves the hospital without a word to anyone. Panic ensues, as Romilly has been monitored for postpartum psychosis, a condition she is genetically predisposed to. Friends and family rally around Marc and the baby, all doing their part to make those crucial first days run smoothly, while also trying to find any clue as to where Romilly could be. As the hours tick by, calls and texts go unanswered. Where is Romilly? And why would leave the precious baby she loved more than life itself?
I loved this novel, as I always relish a mystery involving a missing person. I dove headfirst into this puzzling thriller, desperate for answers about where Romilly was and why she left. I hung on to every word as information was revealed in small doses. I read the eARC and listened to the audiobook on Scribd. The cast of narrators did a great job of conveying the emotions and tension throughout the story. I recommend Five Days Missing to anyone who loves a good mystery!

📖BOOK REVIEW📖
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

⏩for synopsis

So I must admit I didn’t want to read this one. I’d read so many two star reviews describing a slow and painful read but I’d made a new year commitment to sort out our net g books so read it and did and well let me tell you don’t always believe what you read… (except here of course 😉)

I LOVED this book!

It was a journey to get to the truth but I loved every minute of it - I didn’t feel any drag or impatience to get to the end. The author did a great job of keeping you on your toes with the use of unreliable narration and an edgy plot revealed at the perfect pace. You never really knew who was telling the truth and I found I was still guessing at the end. I loved the multiple view points, switching time frame and the secrets kept just out of reach.

The characters were all relatable but at the same time the author kept them at arms length, could you trust them? What did they know? Who was telling the truth?

Really enjoyable definitely recommend!

With thanks to Ella @avonbooksuk for this one!

Romily is a new mother that mysteriously up and leaves the day after she gives birth with no explanation. Fearing postpartum psychosis her family begins to figure out where she has gone and why. Jumping points of view from husband, best friend and missing mother, the story unravels in a he-said-she-said fashion

The story is told from multiple viewpoints and twists and turns, manipulating the reader and stretching the reliability of the narrators. Each time the ending appeared to be in sight there would be yet another waiver and something would change. The different viewpoints allow the reader to experience what each of the characters is feeling and bond with them.

This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

3.5/5.
