I always enjoyed the book it's based on. It's a real classic and I always loved the heartwarming story. The artstyle of this manga is really nice and I think it fits all these characters very well. The manga contains a lot of important parts from the books and it transports the feelings really well. Some parts might could have been a little longer and some funny or nice moments wasn't in the manga. Still it's really nice and I really enjoyed reliving a childhood memory book from a refreshing and new perspective.

I’ve loved Anne of Green Gables since I was a child and I really can’t think of a better format for her story than manga. It was so adorable!!! A fresh take on a timeless story. I loved it immensely

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read a free copy of this book! Manga retellings of classic novels are one of my favorite things to see available. It truly allows you to see classic novels in a different light, especially if the older style of language is difficult to understand. The illustrations are beautiful, this manga truly gave me a new appreciaton for Anne and all of her adventures!

I've been trying to read more classics this year and I couldn't say no to a chance at reading a manga version of a local classic. I grew up visiting the gables house in the summers and my fiance is even from PEI so It's a shock I had never read this before tbh lol

thank you Netgalley for the e-book!!

Anne of Green Gables is my favourite book, but I've never been a fan of manga - it's just not for me. However, I really loved this - the format gives so much more with adding thoughts to scenes.

I think I missed something extra by not having the print version - I'm genuinely surprised by the fact I want to go and buy this book for my collection and to read again. I've always struggled with Manga, but this has made me want to try more manga classics.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ebook copy in exchange for an honest review.

One of my favorite childhood classics brought to a vivid life! I loved all of the artwork, the cuteness, and fun of this version. Anne is an orphan looking for her place in this world, a world where she constantly uses fantasy and romance to create a place that makes her feel safe and wanted. A place to belong. Her adventures often end up in mischief and she comes to be loved and cherished by her new family and friends in Avonlea.
Great for all ages, and fun to read along with the classic novel.
P.S. Gilbert is my heart!

Manga Classics: Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, Crystal S. Chan, and Kuma Chan bring you this classic in a way you may not have seen or considered before. If you know someone that is interested in Anne and also enjoys graphic novels this is a great book. A wonderful bonus to this book is Montgomery's granddaughter, Kate McDonald Butler, gives the forward. This is the only authorized Manga adaption of this book.

I love the art in this comic! It makes me enjoy the character even more! They’re based on the artists feed and that’s why I like comics. The visual perspective of the author/artist

My favorite manga classic, so far! This heartwarming story lends itself perfectly to the medium, and I just enjoyed this one ever so much! The art really shone here—I loved how expressive the characters were. And as a whole, I thought the story was adapted beautifully. Some parts in the middle felt a little choppy, but for the most part, I had no complaints. This was such a good adaptation of one of my favorite classics!

Thank you to NetGalley and Udon Entertainment for the free digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions presented here are my own.

I HAD to give this book a 5 star review for the amazing job the creators did in capturing the story in a way that stays true to the heart of the story while also reaching the younger generation who is so enthralled with manga. My only wish is that the beautiful drawings and artwork could have been done in color. However, this book is so well made and the storyline truly captures the heart of Anne and the other characters of this beloved classic. One of my favorite editions by far!!!

A perfect adaptation of the original novel in Manga form. This is a great way to introduce kids or adults to the classics.

What a gorgeous story about belonging and coming of age, made super accessible (and adorable) by this manga adaptation. And if its claim of being the only manga adaptation approved by a descendant of L.M. Montgomery is true, that's really quite cool.

Not really a fan of this sadly. I am a big Anne of Green Gables fan and thought I would give manga a try through one of my favourite stories. I don't like how they portrayed Matthew and just the way the story was being told wasn't it for me. Gave it a good try but just not my vibe

I always love reading reimagined stories, this was amazing. I love a manga that has vibrant art as well as a great story and this did not disappoint. The design was very eye catching and the cover really sold it for me. I hope many people grabbed this beauty!

Honestly, I thought this was a really cute book. I have loved all of Lucy Maude Montgomery’s books, and read all of her and series, along with Rilla of Ingleside. Although my absolute favorite Anne retelling is the original PBS series from the 1990s, I appreciate the among us style because of how accessible it is for students who don’t think they like to read. If somebody says they don’t like to read, it’s just because they haven’t found the type of stories they like yet. Or they’re being forced into it. This is pure brain candy of the best type, and I would love to see a big, thick manga series of the entire Anne universe.

Kudos to Manga Classics for making these stories accessible to reluctant readers… And to those of us who just love the anime style.
