Anne of Green Gables has such a special place in my heart, as I used to watch the movies with my family.

Ahhh this was so adorable. Since I have recently become obsessed with reading graphic novels, mangas, manhwas, and webtoons, this definitely fulfilled my obsession haha.

I highly recommend these to anyone who enjoys manga or Anne of Green Gables.

I feel like these would actually be really good for kids to read to help them understand better.

Anne of Green Gables is a classic novel that I never got around reading to it. However I love reading graphic novels, comics and mangas and I was really excited to see this one.

The book is about older siblings - Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert who were planning to adopt an orphan boy but end up adopting an orphan girl named Anne which happened due to a mix up by the head of the orphanage. Anne is an extremely imaginative and expressive girl. The book is in a manga format which has various chapters around the life of Anne adjusting in her new home - The Green Gables, her daily life and the people she interacts with.

The beginning of the story seems to be relaxed but towards the second half of the book it seems to be rushed. This makes you feel the disconnect in between and made me add the novel in my TBR because I am curious to know and read the story in that format now. The illustrations are cute and each chapters is like a day or episode in Anne's life. Definitely recommend! I read it digitally but I am sure reading it via book would be more fun!

This was an amazing iteration of the beloved classic! I honestly only remember very little of the original literature bec last I read it was for a school report years ago. Recently though, I've enjoyed the Netflix series ''Anne with and E' and saw that this manga was up for ARC reading!

This follows the original work by Lucy Maud Montgomery more closely than other versions of the classic and adds a little touch of modernism to make it more accessible to readers of today. I loved the flow of the scenes and panels, and while I didn't find something very exceptional with the artwork, it did wonders translating the source work into a manga.

Definitely get this if your a fan of the Anne of Green Gables franchise. It is also a fun way to introduce the book to younger readers.

I thought this will be a sad book like books in that era was written, but it is so enjoyable that I finished it rather quickly.

Adapted from the classic story of same title, this is the story of Anne, an orphan sent to a pair of old siblings who actually wanted a boy. But Anne was so special that they came to love her, and even she brought joy to her surrounding.

A good way to enjoy a classic novel, if you're not too keen on reading: in the form of manga (comic strips).

Due to being a high school English teacher, I am often behind on writing reviews. Here is a summary of my initial thoughts.

Once again, I am loving the manga classics given by this publisher based on books many people who are found of reading grew up with. Anne of Green Gables is no different for me--Her adventures as she grows up in a world where her eccentric ways of experiencing the world are just as charming as in the novels to me. The art was cute and truly captured her spirit. So many modern adaptations of this series have come to live, most recent being Anne with an E, and I feel that Anne's story in this manga was done just right. It definitely can help introduce children/teens to the world L.M. Montgomery wished to share with readers everywhere. I would be interested in purchasing a physical copy of this book and letting my young niece read it. And if the publisher were to adapt all the novels in the series to manga form, that would also be a treat I'd want to invest in. The story is a timeless classic and with the revival of Anne and her friends, I know it would do quite well in the market and bring together more readers who enjoy Anne's adventures.

This manga was so cute! Now, I haven't read Anne of Green Gables in a really long time, but this manga was spot on. The plot was pretty much identical and I loved seeing the characters' expressions on paper. Anne was so dynamic and lively, exactly like how the book described. I think it was a perfect adaptation of the original Anne of Green Gables. Also, this manga style is very much my cup of tea. Everything about it was wonderful, from the art to the pacing.

Anne of Green Gables was a book I really enjoyed as a kid, so I was excited to be able to review this version of the story. I've read and reviewed quite a few of these manga adaptations at this point and can say this was one of the better ones. Anne is so emotional and expressive that it lends itself very well to this medium. I found myself wishing this version of the story had been adapted into an anime series so I could watch it because the artwork was so well done.

The story was well adapted from the original. In general, this series sticks very closely to the source material, so this wasn't a deviation from what I've come to expect from the series. It was nice to see Anne's relationships with Marilla and Matthew in this format. I knew she had a special bond with Matthew, but this really helped to show that they share certain expressive tendencies in the art design. It also helped me to appreciate her relationship with Marilla better, as you can see Marilla softening in certain spots, which I wasn't always able to intuit on my own as a child when I read the text.

Overall, this was a great adaptation of a well-loved classic. It would be a great addition to any library or classroom. I would recommend it.

I loved this books so much. It is an adaptation of the original Anne of Green Gables, but it has amazing illustrations to go along with the story!

I love Anna's story, practically, forever. It makes me cry, laugh, hope for a better world. Sometimes I really wanted to be like her. A girl who uses the power of imagination to overcome any pain, has an intelligence that makes her gain merit and satisfaction. Life was hard with her, an orphan from an early age, she found herself working in large families where there were no qualms about exploiting her. Fortunately, thanks to a mistake, she goes to Green Gables, to the Cuthbert brothers, and sees in them the possibility of finally living happy and loved. I have always enjoyed seeing her growth. She achieves her goals, gains self-confidence and, unexpectedly, finds sincere and eternal love in her rival. This is one of the reasons why I love the Anna series. She and Gilbert are a couple I admire, one of the best ever.
In this manga, we find the story of the first book in the series. Anna is a lonely child who finds solace in her imagination, but the people of Green Gables manage to make her appreciate reality too. The growing affection for the people who have adopted her, Matthew and Marilla, and the deep friendship with Diana, help her to feel at peace with herself and to give her strength in the most difficult moments. Her rivalry with Gilbert, then, stimulates her even more to commit but pride prevents her from looking beyond this competitiveness. Nobody would believe it possible that a love can be born from a broken slate in the head but for Gilbert it was so and slowly he wants to win her trust and friendship and then move on to something more in the future.
I don't like drawings very much. They are not ugly but they are not traits that I am crazy about. The most important scenes were done well and all in all a good project was created. But comparing it to the reinterpretation created by the talented Yumiko Igarashi, it is defeated, at least for my personal judgment.

What an adorable way to retell this classic story! I could see this getting a new generation of readers interested in Anne

Anne of Green Gables is one of my most favorite books. I grew up on this and if you would have asked me if it could be any better I would have told you no way! I was wrong. This adaption is beautiful. It brought a new life to a book that some students are not interested in. I will definitely add this to my list of books for my high school library.

This book is a manga adaption of the charmingly classic story, Anne of Green Gables. As someone who has loved and still loves the original book, I really enjoyed seeing this adaption, and how the illustrators went about designing and drawing the tale. Truly a must-read for anyone who has enjoyed the original story.

I've somehow made it 40 something years on this planet without reading or seeing anything about Anne of Green Gables. My loss, because its a charming story of optimism, imagination, and intelligence. The manga adaptation was nice; had the Manga Classics dramatic and sort of bland house style, but the strength was in the emotional expression and the natural beauty of the settings. A very impressive thing about these adaptations is that they don't seem to cut much at all; this story was more than 300 pages! A good adaptation and it has inspired me to go read the original.

I read the original book a little after finishing elementary school and liked it. And I can safely say that I liked this manga as well.

Anne is a very likeable and romantic character, in the innocent, childish way of course, same as the rest of the characters in this.

I know the plot isn't particularly strong, but to me, this story isn't about the plot but about the changes the characters go through and their growth. And as mentioned above, the likeable characters kind of made up for the lack of the plot.

So yeah, I totally recommend this to you!

P.S. In this house we love and support Matthew Cuthbert. A true unproblematic fave 💙 whose death made me cry, even though I knew it was coming .

This is a manga adaptation of the beloved classic Anne of Green Gables. This was a treat to read, and as someone who's read the original I loved the character design and the care that was clearly taken. The house at Green Gables, Anne's favorite spots around Avonlea, and the school all held the charm Anne sees in them.

Of course, consolidating a print book down to comic form will be hard, and I think the pacing went will in that respect. There was a lot of time taken on the beginning while Anne's years at college were a bit rush— but in the original source material, L. M. Montgomery doesn't take a lot of time with her college career, so this isn't a slight on the adapters at all. There are certain scenes in the middle I would have liked to see more detail with, such as Gilbert Blythe teasing Anne, so his slight against her is more highlighted. Overall, this was a delightful adaptation with a lot of love in it, and it was clearly in good hands.

Anne of Green Gables has always been a book that sort of intimidated me. So many love it, it's a classic, but there's always a chance I won't like it. Not only was this manga well drawn, but I know know reading the full book won't let me down!

I have only read Anne once or twice before and it’s been awhile. To a casual fan, like me, this feels like exactly what I would want the manga version to be.

Any visual story will be slightly different from the longer text only version. This one follows Anne from her first day with the Cuthberts to Anne as a young woman. We see Anne as a smart, inquisitive young child. Trouble seems to follow her as she adjusts to a way of life she’s never known before. She makes friends and at least one enemy. She learns what it means to have a family. What it means to love. And how to stop wishing for more and truly enjoy where you are.

The art is super sweet. I can’t imagine a better way they could have honored the original any better than they did.

A must read for the fans of Anne of Green Gables. It is written in the manga style with graphic illustrations. A great book for gifting your childen.
