Well first of all this is a manga that to this day is already published on all platforms where you can buy books but water this is only in its original language, I mean English, I read it a few days ago since I had the fortune of obtaining an advanced copy but even so from September 1 this manga is already available to everyone.

Now if we are going to talk about this manga or book, to be honest, this book has never caught my attention and I would even dare to say that the series was not interesting and to my liking but that can change hahaha you see that later my tastes change hahaha but in focusing on the manga in my opinion it is how cute I have read and if you saw the illustrations that this little book has you will know what I mean. I think we all know what Anne of the green gables consists of, but in case you don't know, I'll tell you super fast; Anne is an orphan girl who has lost her parents due to an accident and she is adopted by the Cuthbert brothers but these brothers were waiting for a boy to help them on the farm and other things that are required, one of the brothers takes it not so lightly and Anne in a moment of anger says things that do not go according to her according to the brothers.

From that point that I am telling you, this story develops in which we can find several very different parts of the other, in each chapter we will see different problems that Anne faced not only before the Cuthbert brothers but also before the world since Living in a time where women are not usually very expressive, she is constantly criticized and even bothered by the color of her hair that I understand in this manga is not unusual to see it.

Anne as a character was very satisfying to read because despite being a little girl she has already determined what she aspires to in the future and what she should think about people and what not, a very important attribute of her that I constantly saw outside of her sweet innocence is the appreciation and love she feels for the Cuthbert brothers and their friends that she has made at school, especially with her best friend, who despite the fact that her parents do not look kindly on Anne she has managed to conquer their hearts .

I think that this manga or the books that are part of this series are very important to read because they reflect the importance of family regardless of blood ties, the value of friendship, acceptance, resilience on the part of Anne and good endless things. The truth is, if you are very fans of Anne of Green Gables, you will love the manga version because it is too precious to pass up.

I was given a copy of this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I've read several of these manga classics now. Some of the stories I was more familar with than others. I have to say I was a little disappointed in some of the creative liberties they took with this particular book. It still has the same feeling of the original but it loses much of its charm. These adaptations can't be easy to create and not everyone is going to be happy 100% of the time. I suppose my heart just wanted a closer rendition.

I loved that the forward to this was written by L.M. Montgomery's granddaughter, it was a lovely touch. The adaptation itself I had mixed feelings about. Whilst it was a very different way of visualising Anne's world I did grow to enjoy the mega style, my disappointment chiefly lay in the cuts to the story. Whilst I can appreciate the necessity of this in any adaptation the fact that all chapters were included, even if only for one page, made it feel a bit jarring at times when we jumped from one to the next. Characters or plot points became assumed knowledge when they really hadn't been mentioned prior to that at all. It would have been preferable either to cut down the earlier content to allow for more focus on all chapters, or to cut some chapters/characters/plots entirely; rather than the more disjointed approach chosen.

I really enjoyed this. I have never read the original Anne of Green Gables because it was so hard to get into. This book definitely solved that problem. The pictures and comic-like style made it so much easier to read. I think the pictures were very well drawn. I have read some manga books where some of the pictures were really random and had nothing to do with the storyline. This does not have that at all. A great read for anyone wanting to read the classic in a fun way!

Excellently done - but one glaring mistake - Anne has her hair all cut off, but it magically grows into long braids right away. I wish my hair could do that! Besides that it was really all grand, a perfect visual retelling of the beautiful classic.

I was super excited when approved for this book. Unfortunately, when the file uploaded to my device it was sideways and not upright. I could not fix it to make it readable.

Anne of Green Gables is a timeless tale of a young orphan with a huge imagination and penchant for getting into all sorts of trouble. She has a huge heart, and is the most loyal of friends, but her big imagination tends to get her in more trouble than out of it.

This manga adaptation is true to the original story and brings a graphic retelling to a story that helped define my childhood. While the original story may be more difficult for young readers to really grasp (I remember reading it with a dictionary and asking my mom what different words meant often as I read), this adaptation makes this beautiful more accessible for all ages and reading levels.

Highly recommend for children of all ages.

Reading this was such a trip down memory lane for me as I read the original novels and watched the movies back in middle school. This manga goes through every chapter of the book so it’s a very faithful adaptation. Despite that, the pacing surprisingly never felt off. Dialogue and scenes had to be cut to fit the story into a manga format, but the story still flowed well. Seeing some of my favourite scenes as a kid, like when Anne hit Gilbert’s head with a chalkboard or when Anne got Diana drunk, actually brought some of the same feelings of enjoyment as when I read the novels. That alone makes this an amazing adaptation!

In terms of the art, I love how closely it stuck to the details of the characters and location, especially the portrayal of Anne, Marilla and Matthew. They look just like how I’d picture them! I do think they could have made Gilbert cuter, but that's probably because nothing could live up to the handsomeness of Jonathan Crombie.

Overall, this is a really good introduction to the series for anyone who hasn’t read the books, seen the movies or seen the TV show, but it’s also very enjoyable for fans of the series! So anyone can and should read this if they’re interested in reading the original story of Anne of Green Gables, but don't want to read through a novel. It would also be good for getting kids into the series who aren't huge readers.

Bello, bello. Lo amé.

I just love it. As a fan of Anne I was a little afraid that the adaptation wasn't enough but, guess what, Its just perfect. The best thing is that If you never read Anne of Green Gables before it didn't matter because this is a great adaptation. You would enjoy rather is the book or the manga, of course I recommend reading the book just because the manga left behind some thoughts of the characters.
Anyways, its beautiful, stunning and perfect.

To begin with, thank Netgalley for allowing me to read this manga based on the novel by Anne of Green Gables.
I had not read the book yet and after reading the manga he called me to read that version. I had certain notions of what the story was about, but I was not entirely sure if it would be my type of story, and well I ended up enchanted, a wonderful story with unique characters and although it is short we can see its evolution, it is appreciated that not They are perfect who, like everyone, have defects, make mistakes but are willing to improve.
I loved the story, it is simple but it delivers so many values, it leaves you with a beautiful feeling, the drawing is beautiful, the expressions that the characters have in certain circumstances are unique and the detail of the landscapes or the costumes of the time is not lost.
I feel that this manga is ideal for the little ones so that they can start reading without it being heavy.
For me it deserves 5 stars out of 5.

This was such a pleasure to read. I’ve sadly never read the books but I’m familiar with both the 1985 and the Netflix Adaptations. I glad that I can finally say that I’ve read at least one version of the books now.

L.M Montgomery, classic tale; Anne Of Green Gables has been brought to life by Crystal Chan (Author), Kuma Chan (Artist). They've done a fantastic job. The dialogue was on point, as were the facial expressions. I even teared up during Matthews death scene, which is a given at any time. 😢 😢

I loved the Currant Wine scene, 3X!! with Diana jumping with her glass in the air is hilarious.

Written for the General Market (G) (I): Contains little or no; sexual dialogue or situations or strong language. Does Contain small violence; Self-Harm(Pinching Arms) and Slate Breaking over head.

I received this copy from #NetGalley for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

To this day I still love the Anne of Green Gables story, so when I got an opportunity to read the Manga version of my favorite childhood book, I was more then excited to dive into it. And I am so happy to report that the Manga version did not disappoint! I loved the illustrations and I would have loved them even more if they were full of color, same as the book's cover.

This version of the classic is a perfect way to read a classic novel in a fun and easy way, and I will definitely buy a copy of this book for my 10-years old daughter who loves graphic novels. Reading this book was a wonderful way to go back to my childhood days and re-discover Anne Shirley's world all over again.

Thank you NetGalley and Manga Classics Inc. for providing me with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Anna of Green Gables is one of those stories that seem to get on really weel into being adapted in a manga version. Anna's bubbly personality is perfectly represented by the vivacity of the actions in the panels. The first part of the manga is a nice introduction to the story to find old friends or discover new faces for who isn't familiar with the original version, the second part gets a bit more fragmented, losing fluidity in the narration.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me a free copy of this book to review!

I rarely read a manga...but hands down this was spectacular!

The manga follows one of the most famous stories, Anne of Green Gables. Eleven-year-old Anne with an E was brought to Green Gables by a mistake. Matthew Cuthbert was immediately enchanted by this queer girl and managed to convince his sister, Marilla, to let Anne stay. Over the next four years, we got to see Anne go on so many adventures. From making a bosom friend to a competitive rivalry with Anne's most hated person, Gilbert Blythe.

Anne was definitely a queer girl. She had such a big heart and an even bigger imagination. She got herself into the worst of troubles and somehow managed to escape them all. Her friendship with Diana was everything. It's a friendship that would last forever and a friendship I hope to have with my own friends. While reading the original Anne of Green Gables, I could see Anne growing up and maturing emotionally. But the cool thing about this manga was I got to see Anne grow physically, too. It was gradual and definitely not define, but it was there and it added to Anne's development as a character.

Poor, poor, Gilbert Blythe. I know Anne and Gilbert had their differences. But he genuinely seemed like a great guy. And they seemed like they would be great friends...and maybe more. (I'm really excited to read the next book!)

The manga simplified the book a lot, but it still followed the story line very well. I wouldn't read this book before the actual book. But it is a great companion novel for fans of the classic book. There were a lot going on in each pages and I'm not a big manga reader, so it was hard to get into the book at first. But when I did, I loved every moment of it. The illustrations were stunning and Anne was adorable!

This was a quick read but since the story was such a classic, it is one that I won't be forgetting anytime soon. I loved the illustrations, the characters, the writings...everything! And I do hope the author plans on writing more manga of this series!

This is a truly delightful version of the classic story about Anne with an 'e'.

Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, having decided to adopt a orphaned boy, are really surprised when Anne Shirley arrives. Imaginative, bold, whimsical and funny, this young orphan endears herself to the brother and sister. As Anne's new life in Green Gables unfolds the reader is treated to a beautiful story of new life, new friends and new adventures. It is an engaging and joy filled classic and here it is beautifully told in manga format.

This is an excellent version with drawings that are skilful, clear and engaging. The artwork tells the story in such a way that the reader is pulled into the world of Anne and her ups and downs. I have read quite a few manga classics and I think they are really great versions of classic tales but I think this book is one of the best manga classics I have come across so far.

Anne of Green Gables (Manga Classics) art by Kuma Chan, 308 pages. GRAPHIC NOVEL. Udon Entertainment, 2020. $20.
Language: G (0 swears, 0 “f”); Mature Content: G; Violence: G
BUYING ADVISORY: MS, HS - ADVISABLE
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
When Marilla and Matthew thought about adopting a child, they decided a boy would be best so that Matthew would have some help in the fields. Instead, they get 11-year-old Anne Shirley, a girl with a big heart and an even bigger imagination. Marilla tries to return Anne and get a boy, but Marilla can’t leave Anne back at the asylum. Maybe Green Gables needs a little girl after all.
Spanning several years, the story of Anne Shirley is hard to condense. The last few years fly by in this manga version, getting only a couple chapters each. Instead of focusing on the school work and classmates in the last few years of Anne’s story, this manga highlights the relationships Anne develops with her guardians and her first friend, primarily in her younger years. I love the emphasis on the relationships closest to Anne as her character develops through adolescence. The Udon team captures Anne’s vibrancy through this manga format, which is sure to please old and new fans of Anne.

This was my first venture into manga, and it was very fun to read. I greatly enjoyed the formatting, especially the bonus sections with character introductions, reading instructions, and the like.

I enjoyed reading Anne of Green Gables as a child and couldn’t resist how adorable Anne appeared on the cover. This is a very faithful adaptation that honors the classic story.

I was hooked from the beginning, following along as Anne matured and became more comfortable in her own skin. This is a very wholesome story that is suitable for all ages. Anne’s wild and imaginative personality never gets boring!

4.5 out of 5 stars!

When the Cuthbert siblings wanted to adopt a young child to help them at their homestead, through some miscommunication they ended up with an orphaned girl named Anne Shirley. This precarious girl took hold within their hearts, and this is Anne's story told in graphic novel (or manga) form.

I enjoyed this book because it brought the classic in manga form. Brimming with childhood remembrance of reading the book, I liked the art form, even with no colors within the pages. I did find a tiny bit of grammar confusion, but otherwise the translation is understandable. I also found it weird that some chapters were just not enough in conveying the actions that took place in those chapters. I understand that the focus is on certain events, but it would be better if a bit more pages were added to those chapters to bring it to life.

Overall, I find this book a nice translation to the classic. I definitely recommend this manga as an addendum to the classic to help convey certain events in the book in picture form. For the collectors out there, this is a wonderful addition to the series.

4 stars.

I'd never read Anne of Green Gables before so I was quite interested in reading this after much success with Jane Eyre Manga Classic, and I can honestly say that I was not disappointed. This was a wonderful way to tell the story as it was enjoyable and felt really well suited to the manga style. I would highly recommend this for a beginner or even those who have read the story over and over.
