Woah, what a ride this book took me on and there's still more to come.
This one really takes off with a bang. As soon as the story starts we're off and running. There has been an attempt to kidnap Bailey but she gets away. That's when things get even weirder. Suddenly she's thrust into a world that is completely foreign to her and soon discovers her whole life was based on a lie. Her father didn't die and isn't who she was told he was. Her father is alive and well and just so happens to be her idol Peter Francis; Billionaire tech genius. She's now living on his estate and being guarded by his associate Kash and things heat up between them very quickly.
Now the middle is where things kind of stall. There was just a bit too much stuff in there that wasn't all necessary to get the point of the story across. Then we get to the ending which has a lot of wow moments packed into it. The twists and turns had me gripping the edge of my seat and now I need more!!
Cannot wait for the next installment in this trilogy!!

Phew! What a ride...that fizzled a bit at the end to be honest.
Bailey and Kash were perfect chemistry together. Very hot. The plot was good, but I still can’t give it 5 stars.
Here’s why:
- Bailey seemed younger then her 22 years, more like 18.
- the buildup to the relationship between Bailey and Kash was hidden. Yes a few texts were mentioned, but then it was instant togetherness.
- the big plot twist at the end was cut short and then suddenly 2 weeks went by...there was a lot of fast forwarding (skipping days or weeks) in this book
-it’s an open ending, not a cliffhanger per se, but enough to make you want to know what happens next.
I received this ebook arc in exchange for an honest review from the publisher and NetGalley.

I think I’ve outgrown Tijan‘s books. I used to binge read them a few years ago, but the last few releases have all disappointed me.
The Insiders wasn’t an exception.
The characters seemed like carbon copies of characters from former books, the plot had tons of the same elements and tropes Tijan loves to repeat over and over, and the story itself simply didn’t hold my attention.
If you’ve enjoyed the author‘s last few books you’ll probably also enjoy The Insiders, but if you didn’t you might want to skip this one.

ALMOST FOUR STARS
I’m a HUGE fan of Tijan, her books like RYAN’S BED and TEARDROP SHOT are some of the best indie romances I’ve read in recent years. She is an author I can count on to deliver fast paced sports romances, as well as highly entertaining YA and NA books like RICH PRICK, which I read multiple times since its release.
THE INSIDERS is her first traditionally published book. And it had everything I like about a Tijan book. Fascinating and intriguing characters, over the top stories, and a possessive hero. To a great extent the book reminded me of the author’s mafia books, the flair and the vibe was very similar.
The main couple Bailey and Kash were very typical for Tijan.
Kash was brooding and mysterious. His silent and dangerous persona was right up my alley. Powerful, he was the one who had all the strings in his hand, while he stalked the background until Bailey forced him to make a stand. Bailey was able to make Kash smile and laugh. She was the only one who could get under his skin. And Kash was über-protective, incredibly supportive and only interested in Bailey which was swoon worthy. The combination of them as a couple worked for me in a BIG way.
The story on its own grew on me, while I got more and more invested in the outcome. I’m hooked. But I also noticed that the book didn’t grab me the same way as some of the author’s other work. I was entertained but I’m not yet 100% invested. Of course I’m looking forward to the next book, but so far the plot is lacking something that would make it an outstanding read. It’s not wowing me yet. Right now the book is being carried by Kash and Bailey’s relationship, but I’m looking for something more. Overall the book is a great start to this trilogy but I really hope that whatever the author plans for the rest of the trilogy will blow my mind.

I was quite excited to snag an early copy of The Insiders. I thought the basic premise of the book was a clever one. Our heroine, Bailey is the daughter of tech billionaire, Peter Francis. However, she never had a clue. Her mother led her to believe her father was dead. However, she learns the truth when a group attempts to kidnap her.. I can't imagine how shell-shocked you'd feel after that kind of discovery..
Bailey is immediately taken by her father's "people" into a form of protective custody. The person in charge of her, a man named Kash, is someone she's quickly attracted to. However, he's distant, private and very business-like. He appears to be the family's "fixer." She's taken to the family estate but told that she is supposed to tell everyone she's Kash's family friend, not Peter's daughter. This takes a toll on her emotionally. She is so excited to have half siblings, but to not be able to claim them is hard on her.
Bailey gets pulled into the world of the rich, famous and irresponsible by her half-brother, Matt. He's close to her age and doesn't "toe the family line." He's the epitome of a party boy and his escapades are notorious. Bailey witnesses some of it first-hand. She finds that she isn't too impressed with a lot of the wealthy people she comes into contact with. She is also given the opportunity to get to know her younger step siblings as well. She has a difficult time acclimating to their expectations of her and the lifestyle. She's insecure and feels inadequate. However, the one thing no one can take away from her is her brilliant computer and hacking ability. This does end up coming in handy a time or two during the story.
The story progresses with different plot lines blended into it. I found it quite enjoyable. There was a bit of a cliffhanger, but it was something I saw coming. I believe this is the first book in a trilogy and I'm looking forward to seeing where Tijan takes this story. I hope book two makes an appearance soon, so I'm able to see how the cliffhanger resolves itself.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Griffin for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to review it and the opinions contained within are my own.

Holy crap this was a great book! Although I expected a different ending I'm guessing there will be a book 2 to this one. A book worth reading

I love Tijan, she is probably my favourite romance writer! Her books are always an auto-read. I loved Kash, but I did think there were certain parts that were rushed with their relationship. Im excited to see where this series goes!!

A brand new world from the amazing Tijan and I am here for all for it !!!!!!!!!
With an opening scene that had me sitting up and paying attention I knew I was in for a ride. This book is full of suspense and intrigue.
I gravitated towards the heroine immediately, her sudden circumstances had me instantly becoming a cheerleader of hers. I felt almost motherly towards this character as she is thrust into unfamiliar surroundings and hit with a truth bomb that would knock anyone on their ass.
Enter Kashton Colello and well I have to say I was unsure whether he would be friend or foe. He was surrounded by mystery and the more I read the more I fell for him. I also needed to know absolutely everything there was to know about this man and that also kept me glued to the pages.
This storyline swept me up and I loved all the elements in it. Every character plays a part in this story and I found myself either loving or hating them but the thing of it was that each single person in this story had me feeling something towards them.
With a beginning that sucked me in and an ending that has me desperate for more, considered me obsessed with The Insiders. This book is a must read.

3.5 Stars
I have read and loved a lot of Tijan’s previous works. However, this was not my favourite from her. I felt lost a few times and wished the plot was more cohesive. While these characters also weren’t my favourite from Tijan, I did still really enjoy them! I’m a huge sucker for alpha heroes, and this is no exception! If you enjoy a spicy romance with super smart badass heroines, alpha heroes and a suspenseful plot then I would recommend reading The Insiders!

Pretty good, actually! Have never been able to get into tijans other books before not for lack of interest but just because of her writing. However this was fun and steamy

I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

I'm so over the borderline bully romances. This was very disappointing and I struggled to get through it.

Unfortunately, even though I dieeee for Tijan's writing and have loved her books since her Fallen Crest days, I could not finish this book as I found the writing to be very choppy. But I am happy to promo on release day!

Another great read by Tijan! She of course kept us on the edge of seat most of the time with what would happen next, making it hard to put book down until I finished it. The relationship between Kash and Bailey has great chemistry between the two you can almost feel the love coming off the pages. I just hate the book ended in a cliff hanger but I will definitely be grabbing book 2.

3.5/5.0
What a great new concept for a series starter! This story has everything readers love in a Tijan book - a sympathetic, kind heroine with a quiet backbone of steel, an enigmatic but totally alpha hero with all kinds of layers to be discovered and, of course, all the family drama one could expect mixed in! Almost every single character except Bailey, however, held multitudes of secrets that made it impossible for a reader to really connect with the characters. While we are just as in-the-dark as Bailey, it does not allow for any depth. So, the majority of the story stays on a surface level only. And that is extremely frustrating, especially since that amazing genius in Tijan’s writing is still present - just not fully tapped.
Still, it’s an engrossing story that will keep any reader turning the pages and enjoying the ride! And, as the final declaration is made (sigh) and the last tidbit falls, it becomes obvious we will anxiously be waiting for the next book - soon, please!

Bailey finds her life upended one night when she is almost kidnapped. She finds out that what she previously thought about her father was false and her mother has lied to her since birth. Chrissy was not very mature and seemed kind of erratic as a mother. Bailey then finds herself in the presence of Kash and they clash at first. She finds out who her father really is and so begins her journey with Kash.
After Bailey gives her decision on how her near future is going to go, she is thrust into the Francis family estate. She is then given an elaborate tale to tell so her step-siblings don't know who she really is. Kash pretty much lets her know that she needs to get on board with that. I don't want to give away too much, but I will say that some of the behavior of the Francis family was too much at points. Matt was beyond needing some discipline and direction in his life. Cyclone and Ser were both cute, but seemed to be inclined to believe their entitlements were givens. Bailey does lament a lot through this book how different their worlds are. She did fail several times to take into account that her mother was responsible for her being kept in the dark. She seemed to be willing to let her mother's dishonesty slide, yet felt that Peter needed to step up more.
Everyone in this book was dysfunctional on some level. There is a lot of turmoil and Kash has his own issues he is dealing with. It did have a Mason/Samantha feel to the book. I felt that Bailey needed to stand her ground and not let people dictate what was going to happen. She was pretty passive and didn't want to acknowledge her feelings at all. Peter needed to step up more and own his mistakes also. Felt there were too many secrets and not enough truth that came to light.
The ending was good and has me waiting anxiously for what is going to happen next.
I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

It has been a few years since I have read Tijan. Not for lack of publishing, but because I am not super into College-age romance. I saw this come up and read the blurb and was intrigued.
I really enjoyed this story for the mystery and twists and turns. I will say Kash's secret-keeping was getting a little old and I was glad when it was revealed. I really hated the discord between Peter and Baylie. I was so mad at him when he would not acknowledge her presence, let alone her existence. I was ready for that to blow up.
The instant bond with her secret siblings was the soft spot in the story and was very much needed.. So much mystery and suspense needed a little laughter..
The Kash and Baylie dynamic I found very interesting. I wasn't sure how bad I wanted them together until he started in on people who were rude to her. I love a man who will not let someone be disrespected. His protective nature was fantastic and I totally loved those two together.
I am very invested in these characters and am ready for more!
The only thing that made this a 4 star read for me was the excessive detail when describing the houses and surroundings. I get it, they are the 1% super-wealthy, I did not need page after page of house and grounds descriptions.

TIjan creates worlds that you just want to live in. Characters that you fall in love with. In her newest book, Bailey grabs you from the start - she is likeable and relatable. Kash is the dark, handsome man that you are never qute 100% sure of. The two of them together equals quite the match.
The side characters were amazing and there are so many I look forward to seeing developed further. One thing I love about Tijan's writing is that she doesn't hesitate to show you the UGLY but somehow keeps her characters likeable. It's a gift, I'm sure.
There is a solid mystery tied into the storyline and quite a few threads left hanging at the end. I look forward to having some of my questions answered and seeing where the next book takes us...
This is one of those books I was so excited to read and now I am so sad because I have to wait for book 2!
Highly recommend.

What a ride!
Tijan captivated me from the start with this intriguing story. There are so many twists and turns, so trying to figure out the bad guy from the bad attitudes of the rich people made it complicated.
I loved Bailey. She’s a quirky genius who’s finds out her childhood idol is actually her father. I don’t think we truly got to know all the ins and outs of Bailey in this first book because it was mostly her just trying to navigate life within this new part of society- the Uber rich.
Kash is all our broody, protective, bad boy Alphas that we have loved over the years. Bailey brings out his soft side far easier than he would like. But he has a lot of dark, family history that he doesn’t want to drag Bailey into.
These two are fire together. There’s chemistry, and hilarity, as well as suspense and intrigue. I love how Tijan has so many characters in her stories and the storyline continues to move forward. It doesn’t stagnate. While one storyline appears to be closed there are still others open, waiting for the rest of the story to be told. I am really looking forward to coming back into this world again.

I have been a Tijan fan for years now. Fallen Crest High is one of my favorite series. So, I was of course excited to read The Insiders.
This story had everything I like about Tijan's books, the characters, the over the top story, the possessive hero, the big families and supporting cast. In itself the book reminded me of the author's mafia books, the flair and the vibe is very similar.
I can't wait to read more from this author.
